Chapter 30 - Magnificant grimory (1)

Elena gave Amara's head a gentle brush with her chin, then pointed at the book with it. On the brown, half-torn page, several drawings appeared. The first panel had too many things; now there were no goblins, only materials. One was two translucent orbs, another was fangs, and the last material was a villager tied up with a bronze dagger beside him. It had specific inscriptions which, even though drawn on paper, seemed dreamlike and important. In addition, there were at least eight different types of plants near the translucent orbs.

"It's clear this is an important ritual. Compared to the other one, this seems a thousand times harder to perform." She mentioned to Amara while settling between Elena's legs, since she found no escape.

'At this point, we must have at least the two translucent eyes. My dream wasn't very clear on it, but I think they're from a slime…' Liora heard Amara's thoughts, which still carried a calculating tone.

"Amara, what's your class, little one?" Elena shifted a bit to see Amara. "For this kind of ritual, you need a strong magical ability, but most of us have classes related to regular combat."

"A-ah, that… umm… I can only say I have a class that gives me great compatibility with this world's magic."

Liora's brow tightened when she realized Amara hadn't thought or said her class. "Hey, we need to say our classes."

"Heat! I am a protector."

"I am an assassin."

"I am a telepath."

"I am a sexual predator."

Everyone went silent; one person had failed to mention hers. Liora locked her gaze on Amara, who stayed completely silent, not even bothering to look back. "No… I don't feel comfortable saying it near Elena."

"Why? You're literally between my legs right now, and nothing is happening to you." Elena held Amara with a bear hug and started bouncing her. "See? You're very comfortable. Don't you think?"

A big smile formed on Liora's face because she thought she had forced her to think about her class, but Amara's thoughts were far more erratic. 'No, you can't know my class and much less my weakness! If Liora keeps this up, I'm going to end up in a very bad position.'

"We'll wait for a moment when I'm alone with each of you, and I'll tell you privately without her." Amara rested her head against Elena's shoulder, then closed her eyes and began rambling about anything.

'There's something wrong with Amara's class, but what is it? She doesn't want to mention it, and although her thoughts sound so bad, she seems very comfortable next to her. Most likely, the problem isn't Elena or the class itself; it's probably her class that puts her like this.' Liora began overthinking what was happening with Amara while watching how the shameless girl slowly fell asleep.

Suddenly, an overwhelming pain took over Liora's mind; a drowsy whistle echoed through her whole being, and her balance vanished for a moment. She felt her power stop working briefly and tried to read Amara's mind again, but she couldn't; she only heard a faint whistle.

Seeing the small girl asleep on her, Elena lay down, placing Amara to lie on top of her. "We're already sleepy." Elena began to fall asleep next to Amara.

Liora frowned for a few seconds before shaking her head along with her thoughts and lying in her spot. Kael felt the laziness spread, so he lay down a little farther from the girls to sleep as well.

Selene stayed standing, watching her friends fall asleep; they were too comfortable, far more than she was. 'We just discovered how to heal the person you never stop idolizing, and you're going to sleep just like that?' The girl clenched her fist tightly as she looked at the others, then looked at the ground. She knew she couldn't do much on her own, so she lay down to sleep with the rest.

Time passed quickly. The night came, but it was calm, unlike all the others. The first to wake was Elena.

The seductive woman was about to jump up, but remembered Amara was on top of her, so she moved her first, then stood up to stretch. Out of the corner of her eye, she tried to see Adriel, but his body wasn't on the ground. She was seconds from screaming when she saw the figure of someone leaning against the foot of a tree.

His right hand was holding the grimoire, since he had forgotten to make it disappear for Amara. "Good morning." The boy's voice sounded utterly calm as he lowered the grimoire to look at Elena.

"Ahh. Waking up with a man as handsome as you nearby excites me." The woman approached Adriel, though she only leaned next to him against the same tree.

"For that to be the first thing I hear from you in the morning highlights how perverted you are." The boy turned to Elena, who simply grabbed her hair and ran her fingers through it.

Suddenly, the woman began sniffing intensely. She moved closer to Adriel and gave him a disgusted look. "You smell awful."

"I don't know what you expect. It must be a mix of burnt and blood." The hunter sighed and looked aside to avoid his companion's gaze.

"Pff…" Both fell silent; the quiet became fully present under the imposing tree that shaded them. "Hey, why were you sitting here like an emo?"

"I'm unable to maintain a stable balance. The weight in my hand is too much compared to the rest of my other hand, and it's far harder to control my center of gravity with it." Adriel explained his situation, making it clear, without saying it outright, that he wouldn't be able to fight until he got used to it or managed to fix it.

Elena nodded in understanding but didn't continue the conversation. Both remained silent for a good while, their eyes lost in the beautiful blue sky covered by whitish and some blackish clouds.

"Adriel!" They suddenly saw Amara wake up and launch herself toward the boy. When she landed on him, she hugged him tightly.

The hunter felt a horrible pain from the pressure the girl put on his ruined arm, so he groaned and pushed her away a bit.

"Ah. Sorry." The girl put her hands together and lowered her head.

"Don't worry, just try not to do it again." Adriel patted Amara's head.

"Of course!" The enthusiastic girl shouted before shifting her eyes to the right and tilting her head the same way, then looking back into his eyes. "We all have classes now. We just need to act, and we'll be an unstoppable team."

Amara stared at Elena; for a moment, it looked like she was about to attack her, but suddenly she blushed and looked away. "Good morning."

Liora began to open her eyes slowly, and suddenly she started hearing Amara's thoughts. 'Adriel and Elena… hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe. I think my weakness affects me more than I thought. I can't let this get any worse.'

Liora was startled hearing this. She looked toward the trio by the tree; the others couldn't see it, but Amara's smile could only be described as the smile of a madwoman, a woman incapable of thinking straight when seeing someone she loves.
