Chapter 204 - Chapter 155: The Monster Arrives!

4 a.m., Paldea Western Sea Region.

The night is as serene as water, and a ship with lights on quietly anchors on the pitch-black sea.

This is a fishing boat with fifteen fishermen from the Paldea Region on board.

After a day of fishing, these fishermen went to bed early with anticipation, ready to transport their catch to the nearest city for sale the next morning.

In the duty room, two fishermen in sleeveless vests are dozing off.

They are the night watchmen for tonight.

Because the sea can always bring about unpredictable emergencies, like thunderstorms, rain, tsunamis, or attacks from wild Pokemon.

Therefore, every night, a few people are arranged to keep watch on the boat.

Suddenly, a crisp ding-dong sound echoed.

Ida, one of the dozing fishermen, was startled awake.

He blinked his eyes drowsily and let out a big yawn.

Surveying his surroundings, there was no wind or rain outside, everything seemed so calm.

"Another peaceful night!" Ida said, yawning mightily, as he patted the head of the sleeping Poliwhirl beside him, intending to go back to sleep.

But at that moment, his keen peripheral vision suddenly noticed the radar monitor in front of him.

The glowing green radar map displayed an enormous figure moving rapidly under the sea a few kilometers away.

Witnessing this, the sleepiness in Ida's mind vanished instantly, and he became fully alert.

He quickly shook his nearby companion awake, shouting, "Matsuboto! Wake up, it's urgent!"

"What's going on?" asked Matsuboto, the man who was enjoying his sleep, now stirred awake and slightly irritated: "What's the matter?"

Ida pointed at the radar map in front of them and exclaimed, "Something is rapidly moving underwater toward us!"

Matsuboto looked up and, upon seeing the giant mass, his eyes widened instantly.

"What is that?! Is it a Pokemon?"

"No!" Ida shook his head. "I don't know, the outline doesn't match! No Pokemon in the sea is that large except Wailord. No! Not even Wailord is this big!"

He quickly stood up and sounded the alarm: "We must get everyone prepared!"

The piercing alarm blared from the ship.

The crew members were awakened and gathered on the deck and in the radar room. Upon learning about the situation, their faces immediately showed a horrified expression.

"What on earth is that?!"

"It's so big! Dozens of meters long, could it be a sea monster?!"

"I heard my grandma say when I was young, terrible monsters live under the sea, and if humans don't respect the ocean, it will come to destroy them!"

"Stop saying nonsense! There's no such thing in the world! Everyone calm down! Prepare ahead! Ida, start the boat! We need to leave here!"

With his reminder, the crew gradually reacted.

They scrambled to start the ship and tried to leave the spot.

But soon, someone noticed that the thing was moving faster than the ship!

"Damn! There's no time! It's about to be underneath us!"

"Something's wrong, it's getting foggy! Such thick fog!"

"Damn it! That thing is here! The radar shows it's quickly moving upward, it'll break the surface in ten seconds! No, seven! Six! Five seconds!"

Suddenly, a layer of mist appeared in the air.

On the once calm sea, waves began to surge, crashing onto the ship's hull one after another.

Gazing at the mist floating over the dark sea, the crew felt a deep fear.

"Three seconds! Two seconds! It's coming up!"

"Splash!"

The sea erupted with massive waves, and a colossal shadow emerged from the depths, the sea churning. The unfortunate fishing boat, like a leaf, was tossed away by the waves.

The only solace for the crew was that the boat didn't capsize.

They collapsed on the deck in disarray, and gradually, the boat stabilized.

The fishermen instinctively looked over to that side.

The moonlit night mingled with the fog, and amidst the mist, they raised their heads to behold the gigantic shadow.

At that moment, everyone was awe-struck by the scene before them.

Fear gripped their hearts.

Someone shouted in a trembling voice, "Monster... it's a monster! The monster is here!"

His voice pierced the silent night with clarity.

The others said nothing, just stared blankly at that silhouette.

Suddenly, the shadow moved.

The giant Dragonite looked over the vast ocean towards the distant unfamiliar land.

It felt both anxious and excited.

After parting with the two little fellows from the Heroic Expedition Team, it started heading in this direction.

However, having never traveled here before, even with the route provided by Mew, it accidentally took the wrong path.

The first time, it ended up in a place full of ice and snow.

The second time, it found an isolated island, where it saw many unfamiliar humans and Pokemon.

Someone called Mustard told it this wasn't where it should be.

Now, after wandering lost for a whole day, it finally found this place.

Thinking of this, the giant Dragonite lifted its foot and began to step slowly but firmly forward.

"Roar——"

The long, lonely sound echoed from its mouth, drifting across the sea.

Hearing the sound, the people on the boat were slightly taken aback, then murmured:

"What on earth… is that creature?"

"Is its target the Paldea Region?!"

Soon, someone realized.

"This is bad! It's so large that if it reaches land, the cities will be destroyed!"

"But we can't stop it!"

"Quick, report this to Miss Jenny and the Paldea League, have them dispatch Trainers to stop this thing!"

"Yes!"

Someone hurriedly got up and found the radio equipment to contact the nearest police station.

Soon, the call connected.

"This is Casseroya Lake Police Station, Miss Jenny speaking!"

Upon hearing Miss Jenny's voice over the phone, the fisherman nervously stammered:

"Th-this is the Paldea fishing boat, we found a monster at sea! It's heading towards the Paldea Region! Please come to stop it! We can't let it ashore!"

Hearing this, Miss Jenny on the other end was momentarily stunned.

Her initial reaction was that this person must be joking.

Nevertheless, after a brief pause, she calmly ordered, "Tell me the exact location!"

"Paldea Western Sea, about 32 degrees east longitude, 127 degrees north latitude!"

"Got it!" Miss Jenny quickly located the spot on the map.

She donned her gear, climbed a nearby lighthouse, and with a telescope, gazed out at the distance.

In the next moment, she saw a massive silhouette shrouded in fog in the distance.

"This... is serious trouble now!"

This is not something their small police station can handle.

Miss Jenny frowned, calmly took out her communication device, and swiftly reported the matter to the Paldea League.
