Chapter 241 - Chapter 225: The Messenger

"Sorry to keep you waiting, dear guest~"

A few minutes later, the female Demon Race had arrived in the private room Yugen had chosen in Blood Charm Palace. She looked even more scantily clad than at the entrance, deliberately swaying her hips as she walked, causing her black tail to sway and flip.

To be fair, the room's decor was quite exquisite, filled with a faint exotic fragrance. In the center lay a large, soft divan, with light veils hanging around. Surrounding it was an intricate table, on which were placed various unknown Demon Realm desserts.

"I need to ask two questions first." Yugen gestured for the Demon Race to stop.

She blinked her eyes a couple of times, smiling ingratiatingly: "You're so generous, dear guest. Just ask anything, I promise to tell all."

Though he was generous, it wasn't Yugen's own money. After all, he didn't have Demon Race currency. It was all the warden's money...

Before leaving the bunker, he had swiped a bunch of notes from the warden. But he didn't recognize the Demon Race currency or know exactly how much he had, though he guessed it was quite a lot seeing her expression as if she were worshipping her father when she took the notes.

"Who's the guest in the room directly above this one?" Yugen asked.

"Huh?"

The Demon Race was taken aback, seemingly not expecting such a question.

She hesitated briefly, then shook her head: "I don't know."

"Don't know, or don't want to say?"

She laughed somewhat awkwardly and said: "You should know the rules here, dear guest. All guest information is confidential, and each room is completely independent.

We promise that anything that happens in a room stays in that room; no outsiders will ever know... You wouldn't want us to leak your information either, right?"

"Makes sense." Yugen pondered, "So, each room here is completely independent? With only one guest, right?"

"Of course."

She proudly assured him, patting her chest and causing it to jiggle.

"Got it." Yugen nodded.

The Demon Race blinked again: "Well then... can we begin?"

"What? Oh... sure. It might hurt a bit, bear with it."

The Demon Race burst into a fit of giggles.

"I've heard that so many times. Don't worry, despite how I look, this body is quite sturdy and resilient."

"That's good to know." Yugen nodded, looking past her, "Go ahead."

"Huh?"

The Demon Race was stunned, instinctively turning around, only to see the Silent Magician standing behind her, expressionless, striking her down with a Magic Staff.

Bang.

The Demon Race's vision went black, and she fainted immediately.

The Silent Magician retracted her staff and silently stood by Yugen's side.

It might have been an illusion, but even though the Silent didn't speak or show expression, her gaze towards the unconscious Demon Race seemed to say—

—"I've been annoyed with you for a long time."

Yugen ignored the fainted Demon Race on the ground and asked: "Are you sure it's just above here?"

"Indeed." Chaos Warrior replied, "At such a close proximity, I can be certain."

"Good."

He slipped through the window, moving onto the stone platform resembling a balcony outside. The Silent Magician leaped with him directly to the outside of the upper platform's window.

Yugen remained unperturbed, not entering directly but squatting outside to observe secretly.

A voice came from inside: "♡~ Divine Envoy, you're amazing~♡"

Followed by a gruff male voice: "Don't call me that. My identity is secret during this inspection, and I only told you. Do not leak this."

"Alright, as per your instructions." The female voice laughed and continued, "But you've been here for several days. Is it alright not to inspect?"

"Heh, no rush. The folks at the bunker are probably racking their brains trying to guess who the envoy is, extremely tense. Let's keep them like that for a few more days."

The gruff male voice laughed.

Yugen: "..."

So, this sounds like the legendary envoy?

Skirking his duties to enjoy himself in such a place, maybe even with public money...

Yugen mused that Orichalcos' anti-corruption work had a long way to go.

Still, he's stumbled upon this easily enough. Looks like he'll achieve the 100% collection achievement for the bunker today...

Boom!

A sudden attack, an explosion erupted right where he was hiding. The window and wall shattered, and thick smoke billowed.

The gruff male voice coldly spoke: "Daring to spy on my actions, are you tired of living?"

But as the smoke cleared, there was only Yugen standing unscathed within a milky-white Magic Barrier, smiling: "Surprisingly cautious, aren't you, Divine Envoy?"

Only then did he see the so-called "Divine Envoy" was a fierce-looking red Beast Race with boar-like tusks and a robust body.

Duel Monster [Large Meat Livestock], Four-Star with an attack power of 1800.

Inside the room, the female voice was also a Beast Race, resembling a leopard-like monster. She had graceful body lines, her fur a deep midnight blue adorned with silvery starlight and glistening cat eyes.

Being single for so long, he even thought a leopard...

Well, a true gentleman might appreciate it, but Yugen couldn't.

It just looked like an upright female leopard...

"The power of the Elves... you, what are you doing," the envoy coldly said, "a Duelist defying the Divine Cult?"

He narrowed his eyes, snorted, and raised his arm. A crimson Duel Disc appeared on his hand, along with a card deck within.

"I don't know which tribe or faction you're a Duelist from. But daring to come before me—the Chosen Envoy blessed by the Gods—means you're courting death."

Yugen smiled, not replying, simply activating his Duel Disc.

"Duel!" x2

[Yugen, LP 4000]

[Envoy, LP 4000]

"I'll start the first turn, draw!"

The envoy drew from his deck, glanced at the four cards in his hand, then grinned cruelly.

"Heh, I immediately drew the key card blessed by the gods..."

With his broad claw, he raised one card high.

"Field Spell 'Orichalcos Barrier' activated!"

A green light shot skyward, as the Hexagram's mark appeared beneath their feet. The Evil God's Barrier enveloped the field, piercing green light into the heavens.

The spectacle drew the attention of the surrounding demons, and demons passing by outside the building cast awestruck and fearful looks, some even hurriedly kneeling.

After all, this was the Elf City occupied by Orichalcos; seeing the barrier was like the descent of a divine presence.

"Hehe, looks like you're out of luck, kid." The envoy sneered.

"Indeed, with this, it's too late to regret wanting to escape." Yugen also smiled, "Looks like you're trapped in here with me."

Envoy: "???"
