Chapter 240 - Chapter 224: Demon City?

Who knows if the demons in this bunker are just not that smart, or if superiors taking the card deck "for enhancement research" has happened before. Either way, the process went smoother than Yugen expected.

He initially anticipated he might be suspected or discovered in the middle, and that he might have to duel a few rounds to complete the prison's full collection. But as it turned out, none of that happened, and the entire process was unexpectedly smooth. He completed the prison card deck full collection achievement without a single duel.

Those not-so-smart demons all seemed to firmly believe they would get the card deck enhancement tomorrow, not knowing that by then Yugen would have vanished...

Well, today is the weekend, spending the whole day in the dorm grinding dungeons. Tomorrow, it's back to school.

So to the demons, after today, this envoy lord may literally evaporate from the earth... taking all their card decks along.

Having completed the full collection and earned a hefty sum, Yugen felt it was about time to head back. But as he passed by a bunker rest area, he unexpectedly overheard two prison guards chatting inside.

Demon A: "This week was exhausting. Jailbreaks and inspections by the envoy lord, there's been so much going on. Tomorrow night I have to go party in Phantom City to relax..."

Demon B: "Oh? You're going too? Then let's go together."

"Great. Let's go, let's go, together." Demon A slung an arm over his shoulder, "I'm going to enjoy myself at the Blood Charm Palace until dawn."

Demon B's face changed: "You're actually a Blood Charm fan? Why? Isn't Shadow Joy Pavilion better?"

"What? Damn you, heretic..."

Just as the two demons were about to start a fight, Yugen walked in, clearing his throat. The two demon guards were startled and immediately stood to attention nervously.

"What were you guys just talking about, that Blood Charm Palace and Shadow Joy Pavilion? What's going on?"

The two demons exchanged glances.

Demon A: "Lord, being from out of town, you might not know. It's the largest district nearby, Phantom City, we just mentioned, is the most famous place for enjoyment there.

Especially the enchanting demons in Blood Charm Palace, their skills are so amazing that you won't have peace all night long..."

Saying this, the demon's face actually blushed, showing a longing expression.

Demon B: "Pah, clearly the sisters in Shadow Joy Pavilion have better skills! You Blood Charm fans are just attracted by the fact that there are more other people's wives in Blood Charm Palace!"

Demon A's face turned red: "What's wrong with that!?"

He was about to start a fight again.

Yugen no longer paid attention to the two, just silently left the room.

Phantom City, why does it sound like an elf city?

He got a map from the bunker, spread it out, and saw it wasn't too far from here. According to the map, it also seemed to be a district already occupied by Orichalcos Divine Cult forces.

No wonder the guards could still go for fun.

Yugen planned to be in bed by eleven tonight, and not carry fatigue over to tomorrow, affecting his study plans for the next day. He estimated there was still a little time left, enough to take a look at that elf city.

Everything in this bunker was already looted; nothing more to collect. The only slight pity was not being able to find out where the True Envoy was, the full collection progress stuck at 99% was a bit regretful.

Yugen immediately set out to leave the bunker.

The bunker with its card deck entirely taken out basically also meant its combat power was emptied. The expressions on those demons' faces when they find the Divine Envoy has vanished will definitely be interesting...

Following the map's guidance, Yugen quickly found the city referred to by demons as "Phantom City."

This was a city with a somewhat dark art style. Unlike the common brick and stone structures, buildings here were made of twisted metal and sharp stone blades, like spires rising from the depths of Hell. The buildings occasionally shone with eerie blue or crimson light through their ashen bones, casting a chilling reflection on the streets.

Few were on the streets. Those who occasionally passed by mostly wore black cloaks or exposed a bit of menacing skin. Occasionally a cold wind would stir up dust and paper on the street, forming swirling whirlwinds.

"A city mainly of the Demon Race huh..."

Yugen walked along the street, looking around at the city's construction.

Shouldn't it be called Demon City then?

Passing a central square, Yugen's eyes were immediately drawn to a particularly striking building.

Blood red hues, as if stained by blood. Designed to be sharply pointed and tall, ornate and mysterious. From the crowd-pulling small demons with curious heart-shaped tails standing outside, and the customers with blushing faces going in and out, it was easy to guess this was likely one of the clubs the two guards had argued about earlier.

Of course, Yugen, being a proper Duelist, was initially uninterested in these things.

However...

"Enemy's presence." Chaos Warrior said in a low voice beside his ear.

"Strictly speaking, we are on enemy ground right now, isn't that normal?" Yugen asked.

"No." Chaos Warrior shook his head, "The aura of Orichalcos, and at least someone at the district leader level. I've dealt with them long enough to never mistake it."

"Here?"

Yugen looked at the massive demon club, pondering for a moment.

Hmm, although he originally wasn't interested, doesn't this mean he has to go in and take a look?

Only out of necessity for the mission.

The demons at the door seemed to have also noticed the hesitant guest outside. After a brief exchange, a new demon came out from inside.

Unlike those outside that humans might not appreciate, this time it was a humanoid beauty — probably because they judged based on the guest's race that this would more likely suit his taste.

The lady was elegantly seductive, her skin velvety under the red moonlight, smooth with a subtle glow. An open neckline showed delicate collarbones and an elegant neck curve, seemingly inviting one to explore the mysterious depths below.

However, despite her appearance, she clearly wasn't Human Race, just resembled one. She also had a heart-shaped black tail swinging behind her.

Yugen understood. Most likely some kind of demon race that enjoys absorbing others' life energy, seen in animations before.

...There are indeed serious animations too.

"Don't linger outside, guest, why not come in and take a look?" The demon was quite enthusiastic.

Seeing the guest seemed disinterested, she continued to promote: "If you're not into my type, that's fine. Our Blood Charm Palace has everything, guaranteed to satisfy.

What do you like? With fur or without? What race? Demon Race? Beast Race? We even have the Dragon Race...

Yugen: "......"

Goodness, as expected of a demon city. Even the entertainment choices are wild like this?
