Chapter 206 - Chapter 204: Hermione's Intuition

"It's truly surprising,"

Madam Pomfrey looked at Kael with astonishment as she watched Hagrid demanding to be discharged.

She initially only asked Kael to help, hoping he could encourage Hagrid to cheer up a bit, but she never expected him to achieve this level.

In just the time it took to brew a potion, Hagrid, who had been utterly despairing and refusing to listen to anyone, was now clamoring to be discharged!

This effect is too good to be true...

"Poppy, is it possible?" Hagrid, seeing her silence, spoke again, "The Forbidden Forest needs a guard, I must get back quickly."

"You can be discharged, but I have to do another check," Madam Pomfrey said.

Her attitude was very firm.

Although she knew the magic potion Dumbledore sent was highly effective, and considering Hagrid's physique, there wouldn't be any issue with him being discharged now, she still needed to conduct a check.

This is a necessary procedure that everyone must go through.

She set down the large wooden tub she was holding and turned to prepare other things.

"You may not believe it, but I've always been afraid of her,"

Hagrid whispered, "It was like this over ten years ago, whenever I came here, my legs would tremble uncontrollably."

"I understand..." Kael said with a smile.

When he was little, helping Newt to feed magic potions to those fantastic beasts, they were scared too.

Even now, years later, a Crup would still tuck its tail and run away when it saw him.

Madam Pomfrey's check wasn't complicated and was completed quickly.

By the time they left the hospital wing, it was nearly noon.

Kael invited Hagrid to have lunch together at the auditorium, but Hagrid refused.

"I need to go check on Fang," he said, "It's been such a long time since we last met, Fang must be very worried."

After bidding farewell in the courtyard, Kael returned to the castle.

But when he returned, the young wizards' topic changed from all sorts of speculations to Quidditch.

Because of yesterday's events, Ravenclaw and Slytherin had to replay their match today.

What Kael didn't expect was that the match had already ended while he was visiting Hagrid.

"Damn it, wasn't the rematch supposed to be in the afternoon?!" Kael was dumbfounded. If he had known, he... well, even if he knew, he still would have visited Hagrid first.

"Kael, did you see Hagrid?"

At this moment, Harry suddenly ran over, with Hermione and Ron in tow.

"We just went to his hut to find him, but Professor Sprout was there instead."

"It was terrifying..." Ron said with a grimace, "She scolded us and sent us away."

"You surely know what's going on, don't you? Can you tell us?" Hermione pushed Ron aside and looked at Kael seriously.

"Why do you say that?" Kael asked.

"Because I noticed you didn't go to watch the Quidditch match,"

Hermione said confidently, "Harry told me that as a team member, it's impossible to miss any match.

Since you didn't watch the match, it means there must have been something more important to do."

"I think... it might be about yesterday's events, could it be related to Hagrid?"

Kael smacked his lips, having to admit that Hermione was indeed very smart, her reasoning was very close to the truth.

And then he looked at the other two...

Harry just kept nodding, and Ron stood there dumbfounded... looking as if he didn't understand a thing.

What a huge difference between them, how did these three even become friends...

"Hagrid, he..."

"He's fine, you're overthinking it," Kael interrupted Hermione, saying, "In fact, I always thought the match was in the afternoon, that's why I didn't go watch it.

Plus, I spent the whole morning with Hagrid in the hospital wing... helping Madam Pomfrey with some minor tasks, and Professor Sprout just went to watch the Forbidden Forest temporarily for him."

"That's not right... even if help was needed, it should be Filch, right?" Hermione squinted suspiciously, saying, "How could a professor have time to watch over the Forbidden Forest, especially since Professor Sprout is the head of Hufflepuff, she must be even busier."

"I don't know; maybe she just happened to pass by and lent a small favor,"

Kael shrugged, "Or you can ask Hagrid yourselves, he should have returned to his hut by now."

Alright, sometimes being too smart can be quite bothersome.

Being like Harry and Ron is better, they believe whatever they're told, much less trouble.

"Hagrid's back?" Hermione was a bit surprised... This was different from what she imagined.

She initially thought Hagrid went to the hospital wing because he was injured, but if that were the case, Madam Pomfrey wouldn't have let him go back so quickly.

"Yes, just got back." Kael nodded, "By the way, how did the match turn out?"

"Ravenclaw won!" Harry suddenly got all excited, his eyes sparkling, "Their Seeker was amazing, she caught the Golden Snitch while Ravenclaw was a hundred points down!"

"Too bad you weren't there." Ron added excitedly, "Slytherin's expressions were priceless, losing to the weakest team, Malfoy's face went green."

"Yeah, I can imagine," Kael said with a smile.

After exchanging a few more words, Harry pulled Ron away from the castle to find Hagrid.

But Hermione stayed behind, continuing to follow Kael with a strange look in her eyes, sizing him up and down.

"Aren't you worried Hagrid will slip up?" Hermione suddenly asked.

She felt certain Kael hadn't told the truth earlier.

"Why worry... we really were just helping out," Kael casually shrugged.

He only needed to ensure there were no issues on his end, anything on Hagrid's side wasn't his concern.

Besides, he couldn't possibly stop Harry from visiting Hagrid forever.

Hermione frowned, continuing to stare at him.

"Harry and Ron have been gone for quite a while, aren't you going to catch up with them?"

Being looked at by Hermione made Kael uncomfortable, so he quickly took out a stack of Chocolate Frog cards and handed them over to get rid of her.

"By the way, to thank Harry for telling me the match result, could you take these to him? I remember he's collecting the cards."

Just as Hermione was about to say something else, she accidentally noticed a line on the outermost card.

"...made significant achievements in Alchemy with his partner Nicolas Flamel!"

Nicolas Flamel... Alchemy...

"I know it now! I know who Nicolas Flamel is!" Hermione exclaimed, then dashed upstairs, running towards the Gryffindor Common Room.

Kael stood there, looking at the stack of unsent cards in his hand, and put them back in his pocket.

Thank Dumbledore, at least Hermione's been sent off.
