Chapter 625 - Chapter 623: How's Your Forgetfulness Spell?

It seemed that in order to prove her loyalty to Fudge, as soon as she got the title of Senior Investigator, Umbridge immediately took action.

Of course, she wasn't foolish enough to start with tough targets like Professor McGonagall or Professor Flitwick. Instead, she chose a relatively softer target.

Professor Sybill Trelawney of the Divination Class.

However, she chose to audit a fifth-year Divination class. At noon that day, Kael arrived at the Auditorium and happened to see Ron sitting by the Gryffindor table, vividly describing the scene at that time.

"Umbridge just sat in the back of the classroom, with a quill in her hand, scribbling furiously on her notebook. I bet she was grading Professor Trelawney..."

Many people gathered around Ron, from different houses, all eager to know what the so-called Senior Investigator would do.

Kael was also quite curious, but since the last class had been Herbology, he came a bit late and couldn't squeeze in at all.

At this time, Hermione happened to come in with a few books in her arms, followed by an angry Harry.

"I think Professor McGonagall is right," Hermione said as they walked, "You need to curb your temper and stop going against Umbridge on everything, it's not good for you."

"I can't stand it," Harry said angrily. "She spoke ill of Sirius, and was I wrong? Voldemort was indeed stuck on the back of Quirrell's head. I was just telling the truth."

"But your truth is not what she wants to hear," Hermione said, "Besides, she can put you in detention anytime, and you'll be the one who suffers in the end."

"I don't care!" Harry said. "I won't let her succeed, no matter how she punishes me, I don't care... And I'm not the only one doing this, don't forget Kael also argued with her!"

"Actually, I don't hope for you to learn from me."

Hermione and Harry were startled by the sudden voice, only to realize that Kael was standing right next to them.

Harry looked a bit embarrassed but quickly returned to normal.

"Kael, when did you get here?" Hermione asked.

"I've been here since you both came into the Auditorium," Kael said, "It's just that it seems you didn't see me."

"Sorry, I didn't notice," Harry said quietly, "I didn't mean to bring up your detention, I was just so angry."

"Angry?" Kael asked, "What happened."

"It's about this morning's Defense Against the Dark Arts Class... She said that apart from Quirrell, all other Defense Against the Dark Arts professors, including Sirius, were incompetent.

"But we all know Quirrell is the most incompetent one... Because he allowed Voldemort to be stuck on his back."

"So you couldn't take it and started arguing with her?" Kael said.

"That's right!" Harry's voice suddenly grew louder, "But it seems everyone thinks it was wrong for me to argue with Umbridge. Whether it's Professor McGonagall or others, they all think I should just ignore it, let her spew nonsense..."

"Is that really wrong?" Kael said, "They just don't want to see you punished. I believe you should do the same, too."

Harry was taken aback, looking at Kael confused, "But didn't you also argue with her... I thought you would surely understand my thinking, that we should let everyone know what the truth is."

"That's different," Kael said, "Understanding doesn't mean support, and people won't change their attitudes just because of a few words from you or me, neither of us has that kind of influence.

"Moreover, as I just said, I don't wish for you to emulate my actions, it will only earn you more suffering without changing anything else, unless..."

Here, Kael suddenly paused.

"Unless what?" Harry pressed.

Kael thought for a moment and said, "Let me ask, how's your Forgetfulness Spell?"

Harry blinked, not understanding why Kael suddenly asked about this, but after hesitating, he stammered, "It's, it's okay."

Even though he said that, Kael already got the answer from his evasive gaze.

Harry's so-called okay was most likely a courtesy, the real situation was probably a mess.

"Forgetfulness Spell... Does it have something to do with Umbridge's detention?" Harry asked.

"No, it doesn't. I was just asking randomly, don't worry about it," Kael shook his head, then changed the topic, "By the way, you were also there for the fifth-year Divination class, what did this Senior Investigator Umbridge do."

"I don't know," Harry said, "but I guess she was probably grading the professor, and during class, she kept questioning Professor Trelawney... asking how long she's been in her position, and about her background."

Kael nodded, thinking these were common tactics used by the Ministry of Magic, nothing novel.

Harry thought for a moment, then continued, "Oh, Umbridge also had Professor Trelawney make a prediction for her in the end."

"A prediction?" Kael asked curiously, "What was it."

"The same old stuff," Harry said in a low voice, "You surely know too, Professor Trelawney is nothing but a big fraud who can only frighten people, she doesn't really make predictions, so she tried her old trick again.

"She told Umbridge that she's stepping into a trap and that she'll encounter terrible danger.

"But Umbridge didn't seem to believe it and even questioned Professor Trelawney's ability to predict."

"A trap?" Kael raised an eyebrow,

"That's what Professor Trelawney said," Harry said indifferently, "but it's definitely fake, I can hear similar things three times in every class."

"That might not be certain..." Kael muttered softly.

"What did you say?" Harry didn't hear clearly because the voice was too low.

"Nothing, I said thank you," Kael patted Harry on the shoulder, "As a reward, I can tell you in advance what Umbridge's detention entails."

"What is it," Harry asked eagerly.

Kael calmly said, "Carving words on your hand with a knife."

Harry hadn't reacted yet, but Hermione was the first to shout, "She can't do that! Even in the last century, Hogwarts never had such cruel detention... No, I need to go tell Professor McGonagall."

"Don't rush," Kael stopped Hermione from running out and continued, "I was just suggesting a possibility, what if she changes to another method, that's all possible.

"Also, whatever the punishment is, Umbridge can't be too blatant about it. Even if Professor McGonagall goes, it might not help, so the best solution is only one."

Kael looked at Harry again, "When you're in detention, don't say anything, just admit your mistake right away, maybe you can avoid it."

"Kael is right," Hermione agreed, "Umbridge is a professor, you can't go against her."

"Impossible, I absolutely won't admit any wrongdoing to her!" Harry said defiantly.

"Don't talk nonsense, it's not beneficial for you."

"But I clearly didn't say anything wrong..."

Harry and Hermione started arguing again, just like when they first came in.

At this moment, Kael had already returned to the Hufflepuff long table.

If even Hermione couldn't persuade Harry, then adding one more person wouldn't help at all.
