Yvonne and Ariana settled on the couch after seeing Azaiah and his driver leave.
Yvonne turned to her friend as the questions which had flooded her mind were almost becoming too much to bear.
"Okay spill" said Yvonne.
Ariana drew in a breath as she mentally prepared herself to tell her friend about how she doubted she was the daughter of her parents. "You know how everything has been with my parents right? How they tricked me into signing that fake document?" Yvonne nodded her head and Ariana went forward to explaining what she saw on her birth certificate and how she went to the hospital to get DNA tests done.
"When will the test be out?" Yvonne questioned. She was a tad afraid of what the outcome would be. After hearing Fidel admit Mrs Sterling came to him herself she began to wonder what kind of mother would do that but she didn't relay her thoughts to Ariana.
She knew how much Ariana loved her parents and didn't want to seem like that harbinger of bad news. But to her surprise, Ariana herself had began to doubt them too.
"I don't know yet. The doctor said he'd get back to me" Ariana answered.
Yvonne sighed deeply wondering how her friends life which was all put together few days ago had now plummeted into this new reality of distrust and betrayal by the people she loved the most; her family and fiancé.
Yvonne was yet to speak to Ariana's parents as she had planned but seeing how things were unfolding, if the tests came out and they weren't her parents, then it explains how they had treated her but why now all of a sudden. Yvonne questioned herself.
"How are you Ariana? Be honest" Yvonne asked.
Ariana went silent for some seconds before saying "It all hurts. Hurts so bad".
Yvonne wrapped her in a tight hug and repeatedly tapped on her back, coaxing her.
"I promise, everything would be better" she said in a low tone as she began to wonder how to make situations better for her best friend.
They had been friends since highschool and even attended the same university. Yvonne was a smart and beautiful girl with so much potential and when Ariana began to work in the Sterling company, she asked Yvonne to work alongside her also and the girl didn't reject.
Yvonne broke the hug in an attempt to make the atmosphere better as she quickly asked about Azaiah "So how did you and Azaiah meet up? And who was that man driving your car?" Her blue eyes lit up.
Ariana giggled at her friends sudden change in mood.
"The man was Azaiah's chauffeur I think. So here's how it happened. I was about leaving the hospital, heading to my car when I suddenly felt a severe headache and I was so dizzy and the next thing I knew I was out".
Yvonne's face was etched with worry as she placed on head on Ariana's head and neck, checking her body temperature.
"I'm okay now... I think" Ariana said.
"But why did that happen?" Yvonne questioned and Ariana explained exactly what the doctor had told her.
"Ari, you need to relax please. All this is beginning to get to you" Yvonne said, feeling bad her friend had to go through all this at once.
"I will" Ariana tried convincing her.
"Before I fainted, I felt like I was being watched and I looked around and didn't see anyone. There were only cars around me and some had tinted windows. I wanted to get to my car quickly but that's when I blacked out. The next moment I opened my eyes, I saw Azaiah staring down at me. He had me in his arms and I freaked out and punched him. I didn't even know where he came from or where I got the energy to land that punch" She continued.
"Anyways, he took me back into the hospital to get checked and after everything, I was given these medicines and he decided to drive me himself and let his chauffeur drive my car instead." She concluded.
"I don't even know what to say. That's crazy! How did he get to the hospital though? Was he there before you or entered the moment you fainted? Because I'm really amazed right now" Yvonne stated.
"I honestly don't know where he sprouted up from but he was nice to me" Ariana admitted.
Yvonne became quiet as she began to evaluate some things on her mind.
"The fact you see him almost everywhere is kinda crazy. Could it be fate?" Yvonne questioned.
"Fate or not, I don't really care. My fiancé cheated on me as you already know and I don't think I'm really ready to be in a fate-caused-this situation with anyone. Honestly, I just want to get a good job and get back on my feet" Ariana said feeling the pain of betrayal from Rodrigo wash over her once again.
"I understand it hurts so much but you can't let that keep you away from trying with other guys. You need to get over Rodrigo anyway. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should use someone to get over him but don't let that pull you down okay?" Yvonne said.
"I'd try not to let it but I can't have anything with Azaiah Hawthorne. He doesn't like me remember?" Ariana's statement made Yvonne's eyes widen.
"Girl are you blind? If he doesn't like you I don't think he would have helped you today. Funnily enough, I don't even think he hated you in highschool though he builled you. Perhaps he wanted your attention and the only way he could do it at that time was bully and tease you" Yvonne said whilst questioning her own words.
Why would anyone do that? She asked herself.
"That's insane" Ariana said.
"I agree" Yvonne said.
"But it's still a possibility" she shrugged.
"Besides, remember I told you he might not be okay up there" she tapped her head.
"Yvonne, I don't know where you heard that from but I don't think the guy's crazy. He does show up out of nowhere but I don't think he's crazy. He was a bully in highschool but I think he has grown past that now" Ariana said and Yvonne raised her hands in surrender.
"Alright then. Whatever makes you happy, as long as you don't let this problem with Rodrigo stop you from finding a man who actually loves you" Yvonne concluded.
