Though Azaiah knew her whereabouts most of the time and knowing the kind of personality she had, he was surprised to see her at his club.
Ariana Sterling hadn't been the fun type from the beginning, even in highschool. It was part of the reason he sometimes picked on her.
The times he came across her at their school, she was always reading at the library or was with her best friend Yvonne. Azaiah was the best student in his class but he still found time to have fun the way he wanted but the girl was in her own world and to him, it was extreme.
But after knowing she worked hard that much to be the president of her father's company, he understood but he didn't stop teasing her.
He enjoyed seeing the look on her face whenever she saw him coming. It gave him a certain kind of satisfaction knowing he had that effect on her.
At the Sterling mansion, an unexpected visitor arrived.
Mrs Sterling was on her way out of the house when she saw a familiar face approaching the doorstep.
"Good morning ma'am" Yvonne stretched her hand after she had reached Mrs Sterling whereas the woman wondered why the security had let the girl in.
Mrs Sterling was surprised to see the girl and didn't hide it. Without accepting the handshake Yvonne offered she said "Young lady, what brings you here?".
Yvonne smiled as she took her hand back to herself. "I wanted to speak with you and Mister Sterling about something very important" she answered, bold and with a straight posture.
Mrs Sterling chuckled as she scanned Yvonne from head to toe. "I don't think there's anything to speak about after you declined the offer of being Ava's assistant".
"Ma'am I hope you understand but loyalty is more important to me than positions." Yvonne clapped back and the woman laughed hysterically.
"What it is it you want to speak to me and my husband about?" Mrs Sterling asked with her hands crossed after calming down.
"Ma'am I came to ask that you and your husband, Mister Sterling reconsider your decision of the ownership of the company".
Mrs Sterling's expression turned hostile upon hearing the girl.
"I'm speaking as a former employee now and not as Ariana's friend. She's more suited for the position and the project with the Smith's just began and you all saw the income it brought to the company and it was arranged by Ariana. Please do reconsider your decision" Yvonne concluded.
Mrs Sterling was quiet for some seconds as she stared at Yvonne, wondering where the girl summoned the courage to speak to her.
"You know you left me wondering where you bought your guts from. Please do tell so I can go get some for myself" came the sarcasm from Mrs Sterling.
"But unfortunately this boldness and guts will only land you in a tight situation you don't want to be in. Listen child, its better you don't meddle in matters that doesn't concern you. Please leave my house, you reek of desperation just like that friend of yours" Mrs Sterling said as she began to walk past Yvonne.
"That friend of mine is your daughter!" Yvonne raised her voice but the woman ignored her and continued walking past.
"Oh wait" the woman paused and turned around to Yvonne.
"You both should learn how to let go of things, life isn't so hard" Mrs Sterling said before walking into her car, leaving Yvonne standing right at the door step.
She drew in a breath, scoffed and turned around existing the Sterling house whilst a pair of eyes followed her exiting figure.
Ava had noticed Yvonne passed through their gates earlier and wondered what the girl had come for. Now, still looking through the window, she noticed the girl walking out.
Ava gave a condescending huff as she turned away from the window and back to making a video for her fans. She had started recording a video for her fans when she noticed Yvonne approach their gates.
She had come to know the girl because of Ariana who mentioned Yvonne in their conversions at times. Then, she was much closer to her sister but now, there was an invisible wall separating the sisters.
Ava had adored Ariana once, while they were growing up. Ariana was older than Ava with four years and Ava had adored her when they were little because Ariana was smart and was also a loving sister.
But growing up being introduced to some things as she became older, she began to see her sister as boring. Excluding the fact that she was more favored by her parents which technically made her prideful, Ava had always been hard to please and she also had an attitude but admist that she also had a good side.
But it seemed she had shut her good side because despite all that had happened, Ava hadn't reached out to Ariana to know how she was doing.
Ava had a slender body, heart-shaped lips and innocent eyes that could sway anyone, making it easy for her to get whatever she wanted.
When she was little, her mother had trained her to never take no for an answer and she grew up doing exactly just that.
She was beautiful, sassy, bold and unapologetic with her words and feelings and that was what made her who she was. It made her loved by many and hated by some.
On the other hand, Ariana was always obedient, hardworking, calm and respectful with her words and actions.
Which brought both girls to being complete opposites.
