Both Alaric and Mason felt their hearts rise up to their throats.
However, when a few seconds passed and the monster didn't attack them, their eyes flashed in understanding.
'A siren!'
Slowly turning around, they looked in the distant sky and saw a black bird flying around, slowly inching toward the campsite.
"Damn it! I thought I was dead." Mason said, heaving a deep breath.
Alaric didn't say anything but nodded in response before making sure if the Siren Monsters flew over, it wouldn't be able to notice him.
Mason also did the same.
Ordinarily, Monsters didn't fight each other. However, when a monster saw another monster feasting on humans, it would want to join. If the latter was weaker or didn't want a fight, it would allow it to join, otherwise a fight would break out.
