Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

Chapter 42: The Ultimate Destination of All Manipulation Abilities

"Attack! Kill this bastard!"

An endless stream of monks surged out from a hidden door at the back of the hall. The evil monk Mierji, his face twisted with ferocity, reached out and made a grasping motion in the air. The Nen-constructed incense burner above the hall flew toward him.

One by one, the controlled monks, like puppets, fearlessly charged forward with their weapons.

These were all the followers Mierji had painstakingly gathered over the past days, moving from city to city.

Now, to save his own life, he could no longer afford to hold back.

Mord narrowed his eyes slightly at the monks charging toward him, his figure transforming into a flash of lightning as he weaved through the crowd.

Every swing of his blade inevitably struck an enemy's head.

These manipulated puppets had lost all sensation. Even if their limbs were severed, as long as the wounds weren't fatal, they would continue to carry out Mierji's commands.

Decapitation was the most direct method.

In the blink of an eye, the hall was awash with blood, yet the most bizarre thing was that, even under such circumstances, the men and women continued their tireless, intimate embraces. The scene could not have been more eerie.

Mord raised his head, his gaze piercing through the monks to spot the wicked monk Mierji in the distance, who had just opened an incense burner. Though unsure of the other's intentions, Mord suddenly felt a sense of foreboding.

He had to stop him.

The thought surfaced instinctively in his mind.

A flash of blade light gleamed as Mord, without even turning his head, effortlessly dispatched a monk attempting to ambush him from behind. His aura surged once more, and his electrically activated right leg stomped the ground, causing the floor beneath him to crack and splinter. His entire body then shot forward like a bolt of lightning, charging straight toward the distant evil monk.

These puppet monks, under strict orders, were frantically besieging Mord at any cost, trying to slow his advance.

Any enemy blocking his path was instantly torn apart by the thunderous force Mord had become, bursting like fresh, juicy tomatoes.

A crimson rain of blood splattered across the hall, dyeing the entangled, naked bodies red.

Mord finally reached Mierji and was about to launch a preemptive strike when he suddenly halted, as if nailed to the spot.

From afar, the wicked monk Mierji's aura abruptly surged violently, and a fierce gale swept through the hall. He set down the incense burner in his hand as if it were a wine glass.

The accumulated pink aura inside had already been entirely poured into his mouth.

And the evil monk Mierji's body began to undergo a drastic transformation—his obese form started to swell...

As the incense burner atop the hall vanished.

The men and women entangled below suddenly fainted.

Of course, a couple of lucky ones, blessed with stronger constitutions and willpower than ordinary people, regained consciousness.

One monk rubbed his eyes, feeling utterly exhausted. He saw the terrified expression on his companion's face in front of him, then noticed the blood and corpses littering the ground.

"What on earth happened?"

Awooo!

At that moment, a monstrous roar echoed from behind.

He felt that if he moved even slightly, he would be swallowed and torn apart by the unknown beast behind him. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead.

What was behind him?

He was gripped by an unprecedented, overwhelming fear, yet his intense curiosity compelled him to slowly turn his head. And then, he beheld the terrifying truth.

A massive body, as if forged from black iron, made him feel as insignificant as an infant in its presence. A ferocious, demon-like face with two enormous fangs protruding, foul-smelling saliva dripping continuously.

A pair of blood-red eyes, large as bronze bells, were fixed on him.

I'm dead!

The thought instantly dominated the monk's mind, but his survival instinct still drove his will to resist. Among so many believers and monks, he was the only one who had regained consciousness, proving he was no weak-willed individual.

There's still a chance—escape!

Unfortunately, just as he was about to take a step, his movement abruptly ceased.

He looked down in disbelief as a giant hand pierced straight through his body. Opening his mouth, he spewed out crimson blood mixed with shattered internal organs.

"Still a step too late."

Mord looked up at the evil monk Mierji, who had now transformed into a monster, and frowned slightly.

This ability wasn't mentioned in Lippo's intelligence.

Indeed, a B-class wanted criminal wasn't so simple, even if he wasn't a pure combatant by nature.

Watching the evil monk Mierji's ability, Mord suddenly recalled Shalnark.

Both were Manipulation-type Aura Ability users, both typically used their abilities to control others, and their ultimate killing moves were strikingly similar—enhancing themselves.

Shalnark transformed into a Super Saiyan, while the evil monk Mierji transformed into a monster.

Of course, Mord believed that Mierji's monster transformation must have side effects; otherwise, he wouldn't have kept it hidden and only resorted to it as a desperate measure when cornered.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

The evil monk Mierji had now become a monster solely driven by slaughter, devoid of any self-awareness until his aura was depleted and he reverted to his original form.

Moreover, each use deepened the demonic influence, until eventually, he would completely turn into a creature that only knew how to kill.

That was why the evil monk Mierji had gone to such great lengths to build his own puppet army.

Mord swung a slash, but it only left a shallow wound on Mierji's current form. As the flesh writhed, the wound quickly healed.

"Now this is getting interesting."

Since the blade's lethality was too low.

Mord coldly stared at his opponent, leaping into the air to avoid the giant hand's strike while beginning to release his Zanpakutō.

"Crush him, Gegetsuburi!"

The Zanpakutō in his hand transformed into a massive spiked ball, swung it in a circle through the air, and smashed it fiercely toward the evil monk Mierji.

Boom!

Mierji reacted swiftly, raising his other arm to block in front of him.

The spiked ball struck his arm, leaving a deep wound, but as a result, it became embedded in his flesh.

Mierji roared in pain, grabbed the chain of Gegetsuburi with his right hand, and flung it violently to the side.

Mord, still in mid-air, had no time to react.

His entire body was thrown uncontrollably toward a stone pillar.

Mord could only use Ken to envelop his body, mitigating the damage.

Boom!

The massive stone pillar in the hall was directly smashed into collapse, with flying debris burying Mord.

Mierji pulled the meteor hammer embedded in his arm and tossed it aside, then roared loudly, venting his killing intent.

"What are you barking about? I'm not dead yet."

As the dust settled.

A figure slowly rose from the rubble.

Mord spat a mouthful of blood to the side, his gaze growing increasingly profound and icy.
