After a crackling round of probing attacks, quite a few shadow clones had been blown apart. Shinju wasn't surprised.
"As expected… the Saiyan prince has some skill," Shinju praised.
"Of course," Vegeta snarled, eyes vicious. "And now comes your time to die."
Nappa lay in a heap of rubble.
This elite warrior from a proud Saiyan lineage looked like a dying fish tossed onto shore.
"Vegeta…"
Nappa painfully lifted his head, blurry eyes fixing on the short figure in battle armor.
"Help me…"
Vegeta stared at him without emotion—there was only disgust in his gaze.
"Can't move?" the Saiyan prince asked coldly.
Hope flared in Nappa's eyes.
"Y-yes… That guy's move was weird. My body's paralyzed."
"If you can't move, you're useless."
Vegeta extended a hand, palm aimed at his fallen companion. Nappa froze.
Instinct screamed at him to retreat, but his body refused to respond.
"Vegeta! What are you doing?! It's me, Nappa! We came together!"
"Goodbye, Nappa."
Vegeta manipulated his ki, detonating the air around Nappa. Nappa's body was blasted into the sky.
Then Vegeta raised two fingers together, firing an extremely thin beam of light.
The beam pierced straight through Nappa's chest.
Nappa didn't even have time to scream—his body exploded into a brilliant firework high above.
Reduced to ash. Not even scraps remained.
Behind the distant rocks, Krillin covered his mouth, icy all over, while Piccolo's forehead veins bulged.
Killing your own companion without hesitation…
That was a Saiyan—absolute cruelty, absolute coldness.
Shinju stood still and watched the entire scene.
He didn't stop it. He didn't comment. This kind of "cleaning house" happened plenty in the ninja world too.
Vegeta was simply more thorough, kill means kill. Cold-blooded, just as expected.
"Done taking out the trash?" Shinju asked, turning his eyes back to Vegeta.
Vegeta shook his hand like he'd just tossed away a bag of garbage.
"That piece of trash only disgraced the Saiyan name."
"Now it's your turn… unidentified man."
Vegeta turned fully toward him.
His aura began to change.
Purple ki flared around his body. The air churned violently, and even the loose stones at his feet began to float.
Vegeta's voice dropped low.
"You'll regret angering me."
He moved.
Faster than Nappa by more than a tier.
Shinju pushed his vision to a higher level—Vegeta's high-speed motion broke into frame-by-frame images.
A fist from the left at forty-five degrees—Shinju tilted his head slightly, the punch scraping past his ear.
"You dodged?" Vegeta's voice exploded beside him.
An elbow strike followed, then a sweeping blow—smooth, chained, no wasted movement.
Shinju still didn't counterattack, only evading again and again.
Thud.
Shinju lifted his forearm and blocked a spinning kick.
A massive force transmitted through his arm. The ground instantly collapsed into a crater ten meters wide.
Good thing Shinju had coated himself with chakra in advance—most of the damage was reduced.
A Saiyan's physical strength really was brutal. No wonder they grew stronger the more they fought—nearly dying, recovering, then returning even stronger.
"Only dodging? Pathetic—worse than a rat," Vegeta snorted, his assault becoming even more savage and heavy.
Shinju retreated—also adapting to this rhythm.
Dragon Ball fighting was nothing like the ninja world.
The ninja world relied on seals, ninjutsu, tactics, deception.
Here, it was absolute speed, power, and reaction.
Simple and brutal—yet the hardest to deal with.
"Sage Mode… on."
Shinju murmured internally.
Black markings spread around his eyes. Natural energy flooded into him instantly, his senses multiplying.
Durability, strength, speed an all-around surge.
Vegeta punched straight at Shinju's face.
If this were earlier, Shinju would've blocked.
But now—Shinju extended his palm and caught the punch cleanly, completely unmoving.
"What?!" Vegeta's eyes widened.
The guy who'd just been pushed around… caught his full-power blow?
"Your attack patterns," Shinju said calmly, "I've already seen them."
Every twitch of Vegeta's muscles. Every flow of ki. All of it was under Shinju's watch.
"Straight lines."
"No variation."
Shinju twisted his wrist, clamped Vegeta's fist, and yanked hard—Vegeta's center of gravity broke.
At the same time, Shinju drove his knee up, smashing solidly into Vegeta's stomach.
That strike carried Sage chakra and monstrous strength.
"Ghk—!"
Vegeta's eyes bulged, sour fluid spraying from his mouth. His body folded like a shrimp.
It wasn't over.
Shinju released him and slammed an elbow into Vegeta's back.
Vegeta crashed toward the ground like a cannonball.
The earth trembled again. Dust exploded upward.
Shinju floated above, looking down at the deep crater.
"So this is the Saiyan prince?"
"Only this much?"
A naked provocation.
From inside the pit, a terrifying aura began to brew.
Purple light pierced through the dust.
"Unforgivable…"
A furious roar rose from underground.
"Absolutely unforgivable!"
Rubble detonated outward.
Vegeta shot into the sky.
He hovered even higher than Shinju, battle armor torn, blood at the corner of his mouth.
His eyes were bloodshot and crazed.
The Saiyan prince's pride had been stomped into the dirt by a so-called Earth native.
"I am the prince of Saiyans! I am the strongest warrior in the universe!"
Vegeta roared, arms flung back as purple ki gathered wildly in his palms.
The air crackled with thunder and lightning.
The energy was so intense the entire East City shook.
In the distance, Krillin and the others went pale.
"Th-that… what is that?!"
"That energy… Is he trying to destroy Earth?!"
A twisted grin crawled across Vegeta's face. Reason had been crushed under rage.
If he couldn't win—
Then he'd blow up the planet with the enemy on it.
"Dodge! Keep dodging!"
"Let's see where you can run!"
"With this attack, I'll turn you into cosmic dust!"
"Galick Gun!"
The purple glow grew brighter and brighter, locking Shinju in a wave of annihilation.
Shinju looked up calmly.
Facing an attack that could wipe the surface clean, he showed no panic.
"Want to clash big moves?"
Shinju brought his hands together.
Chakra surged through him like a raging river.
If you want to compare size—
Then I'll show you what grand really looks like.
"Wood Style."
Shinju's voice dropped.
The earth roared.
Countless thick roots erupted from the ground, twisting, coiling, climbing wildly.
In the blink of an eye, a colossal wooden Buddha statue rose from the earth.
Its body blotted out the sky.
Vegeta, still charging, suddenly noticed the light around him dim.
He looked down—and nearly popped his eyes out.
What the hell was that?!
A massive Thousand-Armed Buddha stood on the earth.
It rose beyond the clouds.
In front of it, Vegeta was no bigger than a mosquito.
Shinju stood atop the Buddha's head, hands still clasped.
The black markings around his eyes extended—Sage Mode fully engaged.
"Sage Art: Wood Style: True Thousand Hands."
"Chojō Kebutsu (Top-Seat Buddha)."
Vegeta gritted his teeth.
"Stop bluffing! What's the point of being big?!"
"Die!"
The energy in his hands reached its limit.
"HAA!"
A massive purple beam slammed down from the sky—
Galick Gun, carrying pure destructive intent, aimed straight at Shinju on the Buddha's head.
Shinju's expression didn't change.
"Go."
At his command, the countless wooden arms behind the Buddha moved.
Thousands—tens of thousands—of fists launched at once.
Every fist was wrapped in Sage chakra, the air screaming under the pressure.
An endless storm of punches surged into the purple beam.
There were simply too many.
Wave after wave. No end.
Under the bombardment, the Galick Gun's beam… actually began to stall.
"What?!"
Vegeta's face drained in horror.
His full-power blast was being forced back?
"That's impossible!"
He poured in more ki—meaningless.
The True Thousand Hands crashed forward like a tsunami, swallowing the purple light completely
And then smashed into Vegeta.
Countless dull impacts merged into one earth-shaking boom.
Vegeta felt like a planet had rammed him.
Every bone in his body screamed. His vision blurred instantly.
His body flew like a broken kite—blasted up to ten thousand meters—
Then dropped, smashing into the distant wilderness, raising a gigantic mushroom cloud.
The colossal wooden Buddha still stood between heaven and earth.
Many arms were shattered, smoke rising from them, but the main body remained intact.
Shinju stood on the Buddha's head and released his hand seal.
He panted slightly—this technique consumed a lot.
Even with the God Tree Fruit and Sage Mode supporting him, unleashing something of this scale in a high-gravity, high-energy world still carried heavy strain.
"Not dead?"
In his perception, Vegeta's ki was weak—but still there.
Saiyan vitality really was insane.
That level of attack would've turned a normal Kage-level fighter into paste.
Shinju was about to finish it—
When a golden streak shot across the horizon at incredible speed.
A familiar, warm presence approached fast.
Shinju paused, turning his head toward it.
Son Goku finally arrived.
A small yellow cloud halted in midair.
A man in an orange martial arts uniform leapt down.
Messy hair. Steady eyes.
He stared at the massive wooden Buddha, then at Vegeta lying in a crater, then finally at Shinju.
His face was pure shock.
"Whoa…"
Goku scratched his head.
"That's a huge wooden guy…"
"Who are you? Are you here to invade Earth too?"
Shinju looked at the legendary man.
"No."
"I'm here to teach you how to fight."
