Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10: My Family?

Viena stood still, glued right to the ground. She couldn't leave not after she had made a best friend, a discovery and a life. She was still navigating through her own life and now this casual couple (perhaps) would be sweeping her off her feet and right into their home. She was still in a daze when the automatic message that had been sent to her before played. "Viena, I mean it come right now these people would love to see you right THIS second," the message said with a little tension in their voice. The sudden raise in the voice had Viena snap back to reality, she didn't have a choice weather or not she wanted to be with these people. They choose her, and if they were anything like Viena had ever heard about than they would be very neglecting. She closed her eyes than opened them once more, she then proceeded to take three deep breaths (which was orphanage protocol). Viena than walked out of the room, calmer than before unfazed perhaps. But until this moment when she had exited the room, she had still failed to notice Lana's motionless body. Staring down at her like the monsters she would get in her dreams when she was younger. Still considering all of this Lana didn't care and then tucked her hand underneath her shirt and pressed a warm flashing button. And off she went.

The Sargant had already taken care of Adam after he told him this was his first time, Lee immediately knew that he wasn't going to work out at all. "REEEEEEG!" the Sargant screamed, "this is going to be the best night of our life mostly yours though if you cooperate with this one teeny tiny little weeny thing." Reg looked at him with uncertainty in his eyes, he knew the Sargant well enough throughout the few days he had been with him. He knew dang well he wasn't going to give him any easy task whatsoever. He would test him to see if he was worthy of the position of his assistant. But this made Reg even more the bit terrified, this was not going to end well if he talked back. So, he had to stay silent the whole time to really get the last bit of ear full from him. "So, I've had this little problem that I haven't been able to fix in a while because we had more important things to deal with," the Sargant started. Reg now seemed a little annoyed at his words because he felt he was saying this task was unimportant like him. Although he still had a feeling that things wouldn't quite be that way, so he didn't let his guard down. "At Earth I have my trusty soon to be right hand woman as you know," he said. The Sargant took a moment to watch Reg's facial expressions slightly change. He smirked, "anyway she has not yet reported to me, and I feel like I have put off the idea to make a new system to automatically send me information when the task has been completed far too long." Reg braced himself, this was the moment he knew was coming there would be a plot twist and he would be stuck right in the middle of it. " I've checked your file, and it reads that you are exceptionally good at programing things, so I'd like for you to program the system I just explained to you." Finally, the Sargant was done, and Reg was still taking everything in. He would be the one to program this system? According to his data analysis this wouldn't be such a simple task as Sargant Lee had claimed it to be. "So, what do you say my Reggie boy, you up to it or are you going to stay in that pathetic lowly position of yours?"

As soon as Viena walked through the halls everyone was staring at her like they were in on everything. For a second she thought they might have even been spying on her, but that thought was too absurd. She even heard some whispering when she passed, some weren't even hiding their emotions and were looking her up and down. Even when she was looking straight at them, it was like if someone was staring into your soul and you were still acting nonchalant. This, however, didn't make Viena feel any better since they didn't even care what she thought. They clearly had a different motive than to gossip, they were mad about something. They were mighty mad. But in the end Viena just decided to ignore them and increase her walking speed. Her adrenaline had never been so high, if these people were potentially talking about her adoptive family does that mean she should be scared? Finally, she had reached the main office a place she usually wouldn't like coming to because it meant that she was in trouble. Instead, this time, she was being adopted this is what most orphan kids would kill for. A loving caring family that would do anything for you, but Viena still didn't know yet whether or not they were loving or toxic. And she couldn't judge right now because they might be faking, she would only know once they all got to her adoptive family's house. When she entered the room there stood two people, one tall masculine man who had short thick hair. He had clearly dyed it black because you could see the little brown spots here and there. Viena almost laughed until she saw the woman standing right beside him. She had long brown hair, it looked beautifully curled, and she had simple makeup on that made her look even more beautiful. Some moisturizing lip oil, a bit of mascara and curling her eyelashes. Even she had put on some perfume just for this event. She knew exactly who she was adopting, who the counselor was, in fact she knew just about everyone. Viena's jaw dropped at her beautiful looks, "I see you already might have a bit of a fondness for your new family." The counselor chuckled a bit since he had seen her admiring the woman a lot. But he couldn't blame her because she was indeed a beautiful young woman. The woman smiled at Viena, wear as the man just looked at her. "Well, I'd love to have little Viena just look at how cute she is." Viena wanted to tell her to back the fudge off, but she knew that it would be too disrespectful. And who knew if she was disrespectful and this woman was abusive no one would ever hear from her again. "Okay let me just get some documents for you to sign," the counselor smiled. But Viena wasn't letting all this act get to her, the truth would be revealed when she got to their house. The counselor handed the woman some papers, but instead of thoroughly reading them she signed all of them in approximately 30 seconds. "We want her, she is our beloved," the woman giggled. 'How gross' Viena thought, she had been waiting for a life to live but now she gets this. Then before she knew it, both the woman and man had rapped their hands on her and were escorting her outside. Waiting for them outside was a black sports car that had the names of Sam and Emily engraved on it. "Shall we go," the woman giggled once more.
