Minx heard Caser, Griddlebone and a whole bunch of smaller feet running down the stairs. Soon she was surrounded by maccavities. Shalt came in from guard duty at the door. Those who were close enough to hear her response to what she was watching came to support her.
On the screen, they heard Nate, "we can't win."
Layla tried using the sword but was unable to. Erin arrived and the ice power of the demon-tier sword didn't work. Katorie Cha was able to heal Vorden and he was able to fly again.
Sil stood back, Minx hoped it was to get his MC back. She assumed he had already eaten all of her energy bars. She cursed him inwardly. If he didn't eat them like candy bars, he could use one right now!
Graham went to hit Erin and Nate blocked it with the demon-tier shield. Graham shattered it into tiny pieces with his werewolf claws. Erin came in to attack Graham as Graham bit off Nate's head causing Minx to scream once again.
She was still screaming when she heard Mona's voice, "don't worry about me, just kill this bast…" and Mona's head was crushed in the grip of the monster.
The baby was crying. The twins were crying. Fiza heard the scream and went to find Midas. She passed Mandy who had just returned.
"Get to Minx!" Fiza yelled on the way to Midas's quarters.
Soon, Fiza crashed through Midas's door who was just getting ready to shove some chips into his mouth. "Minx needs you NOW!"
Fiza didn't even wait for a response. She ran back out of his house. Midas threw the food on his counter and caught up to her pretty quickly.
On the screen, Minx watched as Lee, used his string ability to control Layla using her sword. A lot of people were waiting for an opening to get in there and kill the monster. Owen joined to help Layla when suddenly, Graham killed Lee instead of Layla.
Silver tried to run in, but Fex grabbed her with his strings knowing neither one could do anything. The sky started turning red and Fex was heard saying, "he's ready now".
With the kids screaming and crying, Minx knew it was because of her reaction but she couldn't turn it off. That was her husband, their family, their friends. She couldn't take her eyes from the screen. She needed to know. She started breathing slowly – deep breaths, in and out. She was still sob-breathing when Midas and Fiza crashed through her door and found her in such a state. Fiza took one of the twins, Mandy took the other. Shalt and Midas helped Minx focus on her breathing. CRevlisg her down would help Angelina.
Suddenly, Quinn was seen on the screen once more. He had wings now. His skin had pulsating red energy. Those on the battlefield removed the dead as Quinn took their place in fighting Graham.
At one point, his friends tried to rejoin the fight. Peter enforced Quinn's order to stay at the side. He rose to his position because he wanted to protect those he loved and he wanted to fulfill that wish.
In the process of the fight, Graham grew another spike. Eventually, Quinn trapped Graham in a red energy beam. Quinn squeezed the energy until, eventually, he squeezed it into the size of a tennis ball. It looked like a heart-shaped red crystal. Quinn collapsed to the ground, unmoving.
With the battle won, all the friends standing to the side ran to him. Vincent picked up his grandson and carried him gingerly from the battlefield. Minx had her emotions partially under control, but she still sobbed when she saw this. She inwardly started cursing herself for being a bad friend. For not doing enough for the Cursed, for Quinn.
Minx turned off the feed. "I need to get there." She had two energy bars in her bracelet. She turned to Fiza, "can I leave the twins with you here? Just me, Shalt and Midas. I don't want the kids near that area."
Fiza just nodded. Minx didn't even ask the two men if they were willing to go with her. She didn't even grab anything to take with her. She went through the teleporter as the Cursed Ship landed behind the rubble that used to be the King's Castle.
Minx, Shalt, and Midas raced off the ship. Shalt led her straight to the castle. If he were dead, that's where they would all be. She got there, just as Vincent carried Quinn to the tunnels that lead to the burial chambers. Vincent did the ritual to put him in Eternal Slumber.
Minx watched the ritual and the bone claw leave Quinn's body. Vincent stated this was because Eternal Slumber was like dying. Fex asked about Quinn going to sleep with the absolute blood control. Vincent told him Quinn left all these gifts for us. Sadly, those in the shadow would be trapped there until Quinn woke up. However, the shadow slowed down time so it shouldn't matter too much.
Minx cried as she heard everyone say their goodbyes. Each person put their hand on his chest and said how much he meant to them, even shared memories.
Minx could only manage to say a few words, "sorry, I wasn't a better friend." She noticed a contraption on his chest, undoubtedly put there by Logan.
Sil pulled her into his arms and they cried on each other's shoulders.
Layla took the longest. Minx was already crying quite hard. Layla made it worse. Peter was last and he vowed to stay at Quinn's side until he woke up since he didn't need sleep as a wight.
Once Quinn was in his resting spot, Sil shook Peter's hand. "I'll see you when he wakes in 10 years. For now, we have work to do. We will do our part. Thank you for staying by his side."
They were the last to leave the room. The others waited just outside and they all walked out together. Noone said a word but there were sobs and arms wrapped around others to console the family.
Once outside, Minx invited those interested to come back with her to rest before deciding what to do next. All the Blades chose to go back with her. After the losses, they wanted to be with family for a bit. Sil didn't want to talk about his battles after seeing what Quinn did but he did tell Minx he found his soul weapon. It was a book that contained all the abilities he had ever had. He didn't have to touch people anymore.
Back home, Minx made an announcement to let everyone know the dalki war was over. Those in the emergency shelter were free to find a new planet to call home so they could see the sun again. They would be given a bit of time to think about where they wanted to go.
Minx then announced the sad news. Mona Bree and Nate Snell were dead. Quinn was in a state that he may never come out of. There was hope that over time he'd recover but only time would tell.
