"Hey, Nami, wake up." Luffy gently nudged her.
"Huh…?" Nami was deep asleep, but after being pushed she groggily mumbled, "What is it?"
Sandy whispered, "Let's hurry up and steal the gold."
"Gold!!" Nami instantly sprang awake, eyes shining like Berries.
Luffy and Sandy both panicked.
"Idiot! Not so loud!"
Duang! ×2
Nami snapped angrily, "You're the idiots! You two were the ones yelling!"
Luffy retorted loudly, "I said YOU'RE loud, so you're loud!"
And just like that, Nami and Luffy started arguing in the middle of the night while Sandy stood beside them, completely speechless.
He just wanted to make a quiet midnight fortune…
And this is what he gets?
Nearby, Usopp was sleeping soundly.
But after hearing the loud yelling, he shot up angrily.
"So noisy! Can't anyone sleep?!"
Without even opening his eyes properly, he punched Chopper in the stomach.
"AAH!!" Chopper cried, "Usopp, why did you hit me?!"
Usopp mumbled in half-sleep, "How could I hit you? I've been sleeping…"
Chopper protested, "You clearly just hit me!!"
"I didn't hit you…" Usopp insisted.
Watching his crewmates bicker like fools, Sandy lit a cigarette and muttered with disdain.
"A bunch of idiots…"
And that was the mistake.
Luffy pointed at him. "Idiot."
Usopp: "Idiot."
Chopper: "Idiot."
Sanji: "Idiot."
Sandy finally snapped and started wrestling with all of them.
Meanwhile, the residents of Skypiea and the Shandia—finally asleep after four days and three nights of partying—were woken up again.
"These Blue Sea people are way too energetic."
"Seriously… they're STILL partying?"
"Forget it… I'm going back to sleep…"
Eventually, the chaos settled.
The Straw Hat Pirates sat together in a circle.
Zoro asked first, "Do you know where the City of Gold is?"
Sandy chuckled. "Why are you even looking for it? Judging by how much gold Enel used to build that ark, our ship definitely can't carry all of it."
Nami's eyes sparkled. "We're rich! We're rich! What are we waiting for? Hurry up and bring ALL of it to me!"
Sandy facepalmed. "All of it? If we load that much gold onto the Going Merry, we'll sink!"
Usopp gasped. "There's THAT much?!"
Sanji rolled his eyes. "Let's find the ark first. You guys haven't even touched the treasure yet and you're already dreaming…"
Following Gan Fall's directions, Sandy easily found Enel's massive ark.
"Whoa, it's huge!"
"How long would it take to build something like that?!"
"It looks fun! I'm gonna climb it—"
Sandy immediately grabbed Luffy.
"We're not here to play! Stand aside and wait to pick up the gold!"
Sanji asked curiously, "If the gold's in big pieces or part of machinery, how are you gonna carry it?"
Sandy smirked, drew his sword, and said.
"Step back. Watch my performance."
Space Field.
Floating Space!
Instantly, the entire ark floated into the air.
"I cut, I cut, I cut—CUT CUT CUT!"
Sandy disassembled the ark into huge chunks of gold within minutes.
Nami picked up a piece and squealed, "Gold! Real gold!"
Then she smacked the others. "What are you staring at? Go collect it!!"
Nearby, Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp stared at a gleaming golden statue.
"Sandy! Can you make one for me too?!"
"Me too!"
"Me too!!"
Sandy carved a golden statue of Gan Fall and said, "We took so much gold. Shouldn't we at least leave them a gift?"
Nami protested immediately, "NO! We found this! Take it ALL!"
Sandy snorted. "And how exactly are we carrying it?"
Four huge bags stuffed with gold sat beside Zoro, Sanji, Luffy, and Sandy.
Adding a giant statue on top of that would be pushing their luck.
By dawn, the Straw Hat Pirates fled Skypiea with an absurd amount of treasure.
On a high platform, three golden statues remained—one of Gan Fall, and two warriors beside him.
The residents of Skypiea naturally wouldn't just let them leave. They hadn't even thanked the Straw Hats properly yet.
The chase began.
"Luffy, lend me your hat for a second," Sandy said.
Confused but curious, Luffy handed it over.
Then everyone understood.
Sandy put on the Straw Hat, threw on a cape made from Sanji's spare curtains, and—
He struck Shanks' iconic pose.
Full swagger. Full drama.
Sandy faced the crowd with absolute confidence and said in a deep voice.
"You Skypiea bastards… give me some face, and stop chasing—"
Before he could finish,
A shoe flew out of nowhere and slammed onto his head.
Sandy exploded.
"WHO DID THAT?!"
Nami dragged him by the ear.
"You idiot! We're RUNNING! What the hell are you doing?!"
"OW OW OW—my EAR is gonna FALL OFF!"
"Yahahaha! Goodbye, Skypiea residents!"
"Hehe… thanks for the gold! We love it!"
Back on the ship, Sandy sulked in a corner drawing circles.
That damn woman Nami…
Why does she ALWAYS ruin his big moments?
Just as he was sulking, the ship suddenly shot downward.
"AAAH! HELP! We're falling back to the Blue Sea?!"
"I'M GONNA DIE!!"
"Sandy, THINK OF SOMETHING!"
Sandy looked at them dramatically.
"If we die, we die together… Nami, come hug me so we can die together!"
Of course, they didn't die.
The Going Merry plummeted a short distance before being caught by a giant Skypiean octopus used for safe descent.
Slowly, gently, they began drifting back toward the Blue Sea…
