Chapter 3 - VEER GOT AN INTERESTING CASE

Veer looked at Sir Jon and said,

"Alright sir, tell me — what's the issue? You look like all the problems in the world landed on your head at once."

Sir Jon didn't answer.

He simply handed Veer a sealed letter.

> "Here — read this. Then come to my cabin and tell me when you plan to leave.

> And… I apologize again for shouting earlier."

Veer nodded, opened the letter, and began reading.

## **LETTER FROM THE VILLAGE**

**To Sir/Madam,**

My name is **Rolen Kill**. I am the principal of a small school in this village.

For the past few days, something strange has been happening.

People are frightened — dead bodies are being found, and some villagers have gone missing.

Parents have stopped sending their children to school.

Only you can help us.

Please come quickly.

**Yours sincerely,**

*Miss Rolen Kill*

Head of School / Principal

Veer finished reading and frowned.

"This doesn't feel right," he muttered. "Whatever is happening… I'll only know once I reach there."

He walked straight to Sir Jon's cabin.

"Sir, I accept the case. I want to leave for the village tomorrow."

Sir Jon smiled faintly.

"All the best, Veer. Be careful — this one will be dangerous."

Veer hesitated.

"Sir… actually, I'm broke. Can you lend me some money?"

Sir Jon burst into laughter.

"I knew it. Fine — by morning the money will be in your account. I've already arranged your stay near the school. You'll receive the address and train ticket tomorrow."

Veer grinned.

"Perfect. I'll definitely solve it. I'm heading home now, sir."

As Veer walked out, he paused.

"Sir Jon, is there anything else about the case I should know?"

Jon shook his head.

"Nothing solid yet. If I find anything, I'll tell you."

## ⭐ *At Home…*

Veer packed his things, thinking out loud:

"If this case is easy, I'll finish it in two hours. Otherwise… well, whatever happens."

Then his phone rang.

**Tu-tu-rinnn… ring ring**

"Hello, this is Veer. Who's speaking?"

Sir Jon replied, "You just left without checking your phone. I've transferred the money, ticket, and location."

"Oh! Sorry sir — I got distracted."

"Just keep me updated," Jon said. "This case feels… bad."

"Relax sir. As soon as I reach, I'll message you that it's already solved."

"Veer — don't joke. Call me after every step."

"Alright, sir. I'm leaving now — the train leaves in two hours."

Sir Jon added, "Listen carefully. The train will only take you **near** the village. To reach the actual village, you must cross the sea. One of our men will meet you there."

"Understood, sir."

"And Veer," Jon spoke again, voice serious.

"You'll go there *as a sub-inspector*. I've arranged your documents and identity."

"Great. Goodbye sir!"

The call disconnected.

## ⭐ **Veer Leaves**

A taxi was waiting outside Veer's house.

Veer smirked.

"Well well… this car looks perfect for me."

He climbed in and leaned back.

On the way to the station, he wondered:

"Children disappearing… villagers scared… a principal asking for help… This might be a gang issue. Or maybe something supernatural? I'll know soon enough."

He told the driver, "Wake me when we reach the station. I'm going to sleep."

"Yes sir. Sweet dreams."

Veer closed his eyes.

## ⭐ **Veer's Dream**

In his dream, he saw the **same school** mentioned in the letter.

The children looked pale, lifeless.

The villagers had empty expressions, as if their emotions had been stolen.

"What the hell…?"

Suddenly, **two girls** appeared.

Their voices echoed unnaturally:

> "Don't come to this village.

> If you do, you will die.

> Stay away… or we won't let you live."

They lunged at him—

And at that exact moment, the driver shook him awake.

"Sir… we've reached."

Veer gasped, realizing it was a dream.

But something felt real.

"Was that just my imagination… or connected to the case?"

He stretched and smiled.

"This case is getting interesting."

The driver said, "Sir, I'll take my leave now. Your train will depart soon."

Veer asked, "By the way, what's your name?"

But the driver quietly walked away without a word.

"How strange…" Veer murmured.

"Did he not hear me?"

Just then, the train whistle blew.

Veer stepped aboard.
