Chapter 5 - Old Friends From Afar

[Overseer13: Wait, is that you Guilliman? And are you still acting like a doctor, Killinger?]

[PapaSmurf: Impossible... Is that you, brother Shinji...?]

[DrKiller: Ah, it's good to see an old face here. So, it seems to me that you are Overseer13, eh? Tell me, how are you connected to the SCP Foundation...]

[Overseer13: Well, after my many escapades in the Wandering Library, my young self managed to hitch a ride with a certain man by the name of Calvin Lucien, during his quest to slay the previous Overseers. After a lot of adventures, I took the potion of O5-13...]

[DrKiller: But I thought you liked your freedom...]

[Overseer13: Yeah, but there were some existences that were becoming too angsty for their own good. And since I have a vast amount of power, I was recalled back from my expeditions...]

Meanwhile, the chat stood silent in response, unable to comprehend the sight before them.

[Love3000: Wait, wait, wait. I can (begrudgingly) accept that this... 'chat'... group is something that connects across different dimensions. But how on earth do you already know them...?]

[DragonMomma: Hoh... Seems like there might be other magicians far greater than me in other dimensions...]

[GachaChaos: Ojii-san, I am Fujimaru Ritsuka, your long-lost grand-niece who was abducted by aliens a long time ago...]

[GoGoPlayboy: Nyohohoho! We Zeppeli have long known about the mystical connection between gravity and the Golden Rectangle. I wonder if you use something like it to traverse through the various worlds...]

Hearing that the leader was a nigh-omnipotent being who could travel worlds made everyone curious about who, or what, Overseer13 really was. All they knew was his name...

But names carry power, especially for those who call themselves Outer Gods

This principle both Guilliman and Killinger understood well (Gudako as well, but the presence of Grand Servants and a NEET of an Archetype made her lax, much to the chagrin of a certain shield-carrying eggplant). Taking heed, they quickly dispersed, citing reasons such as being invaded by Abbadon and trying to fix the Guild of Calamitous Intent. Seeing their entertainment vanish, most others quickly clicked their tongues, before prompting logging off, heading back to their respective domains.

Despite being very curious about who or what created yhe chat, Shinji couldn't be arsed enough to find out out who did, considering the fact that they believe that he died during the attack on Site 234.

Sorry old chum, looks like you have to carry on the journey without me...

Smiling at the memories of their time together at saving the world, Shinji tried, once again, to connect with his account on Thr'yst'oralyn, only to have it blow up in front of his face, before having it disappear in front of his eyes, consumed by the Space Cracks that formed due to failing to establish a connection with the nexus.

Seeing that he had run through all his spare parts, Shinji decided that enough was enough, and he could try once he had gained more parts, or maybe the enigmatic 'Multiversal Chat Room' could provide him with the means to regain contact with the City.

As he left the abandoned warehouse he called his lab, he was met with the disapproving gaze of Sakura. "Onii-chan, where were you? Didn't I tell you before that Rin and Shirou were coming for dinner tonight? *Gag*, please, take a shower, you reek of motor oil and... frankincense? Anyways, please change your clothes as quickly as possible, I don't want to introduce you as the monkey uncle Kariya adopted years ago..."

As she turned around, Shinji couldn't help but look at her left hand...

He wished he hadn't

For smack dab in the middle was a red tattoo, glowing bright in the evening sky...
