Chapter 24 - Ancient Glories Once Forgotten...

[GachaChaos: Whoa! This thing can kill GODS!?]

[DragonMomma: Now THAT is one fine weapon indeed. Say little one, how much are you willing to sell it for...?]

[MahouSisCon: Yeah, well, it cannot be stronger than the love felt from a younger sister. Love will defeat all!]

[GoGoPlayboy: Whoa! Left for one minute, and I see things about slaying Gods? What happened...?]

[LovelessNeko: A-ano, we were discussing the rewards that everyone who went on the mission got, and by the looks of things, Mr Love3000 and Mr DrKiller each got one very good item, while Ms GalaxyCoon got two. Now I don't know why they say this weapon can kill Gods, and if so, how...?]

At this point, Shinji realised that if he did not step up, this whole situation could turn ugly, and fast at that. Seeing this, he quickly decided to inform the uncultured ones on what these things were:

[Overseer13: Testing, testing everyone. Yes, here is your favourite Overseer. Now tell me, what do you want?]

[MahouSisCon: Eeeewww! Please speak in your mature tone from now on-!]

[Ding! Because of your great disrespect for the great Hammer of Judgement, I, Setsukone the loyal, have decided to unleash the Hammer of Bannin in blocking you for exactly, 10 hours, one for each word you have used to disrespect the great sire! Now, any more troublemakers!?]

Flabbergasted at the sudden action, they had no time to take into account that the administrator had a new name. All could feel the great reverence the system had for Shinji...

Who on earth is he...?

Seeing that things were going south, Shinji knew he had to step up:

[Overseer13: Yes Ms Setsukone, thank you very much. Now, before I was rudely interrupted, Tony, it seems to me you have gained SCP-914, the large clockwork device that could upgrade and degrade whatever things were inserted in it. Put shit in to the left compartment, dial to whatever quality you want, pull the lever, and capiche, there you have it! But I do have to warn you though:

Never pull the 'Very Fine' option if you wanna live

And to my dear friend Killinger; it seems to me you have gained the ownership of a very troublesome object indeed...]

[PapaSmurf: Is it that object...?]

[DrKiller: Mhmm, the very same one...]

[LovelessNeko: Okay, why is it so 'terrifying'?]

[Overseer13: Because some unscrupulous alchemists, and yes, I mean the magical version of scientists, in the Guild of the Torre degli Angeli, created a knife...

A very special knife

On one end, it was one of the sharpest edges in the multiverse, capable of cutting through any non-anamalous material, and to some extent, some weaker anamalous materials, into pieces. That was fine and all...

But it was the second side that doomed them

For the other side was subtle still:

It had the capability to cut through the very fabric of space-time, branching off into other realities. They, the members of the Guild, in their infinite greed, they released the Shadows that roamed, or the Spectres, from the realm of Is Not. But by then, it was too late...]

[CutePire: Well, I mean, it can't be that bad, right...]

[PapaSmurf: Those soul-sucking bastards come from the Warp. And by the Warp, I mean they have the capability to literally eat your souls. So after they have finished with whatever poor unsuspecting soul, all that's left is a husk of a man that once was. And since they don't have access to the Warp, the Spectres remain invisible to the naked eye...]

[DrKiller: Not to mention you need to lose three of your fingers to gain the Knife's acceptance...]

[GalaxyCoon: Well, what about me...?]

[Overseer13: Ah yes, the Kingdom of Space Dundee. Though long forgotten, this once mighty space empire had conquered most of the known galaxy, using flying ships that looked very similar to nuclear submarines (which, unironically, is the best shape to utilise in space). Despite having stories about their deeds in the Wandering Library, it is still not fully known as to how the kingdom fell. What you have in your hands is living proof that one of the last members of the Space Knights of Crail still exists. And by their name, I have an inkling on who it could be...]

Just as they were about to learn who Ralathor was, they realised something:

[Overseer13] had left them hanging

[Overseer13: Well, that's all I can say for now. Though, little girl, if you want to know more, there is still someone living from that era, someone you know really well...]
