Night Sky turned his attention back to his world. Currently, his race was at war with what could only be considered most of the world. Not just the other civilised species, but every living creature on the planet.
Thankfully, with his intervention, his species had become increasingly more powerful, and over time, had also rapidly improved civilisation. That, together with the rare but incredibly powerful Magic that his race had stolen from a native species, allowed them to rapidly take over all available space on the planet, not already taken up by other civilisations.
The system prevented his race from expanding their land any further, but it was already a good third of the planet's surface. And it was enough space for them to grow for a while, allowing their number of species to increase rapidly, only limited by the Collective Energy Night Sky was willing to give his species.
In the end, he could not bother with holding onto his Collective Energy in hopes of using it as a final trump card, and had spent it all to increase the number of individuals of his race.
This had allowed his race to become the strongest on the planet. They made up almost half of the population of the planet, and controlled enough land that no direct assault by the World God in the form of natural disasters could eliminate them all.
And this had given Night Sky enough confidence to battle it out with the World God when the time came.
'The time came… and I wasn't prepared…' Night Sky sighed to himself.
To his species, it felt like the World itself was attacking them. Not a race or species, but the entire world. Droughts constantly occurred in land they owned, floods in others. Yet fires and earthquakes occurred in even more.
Night Sky had understood, this was an attack by the World God to weaken his species as a whole, and he could not have it. As such, he ordered his race to immediately kill all sapient species on the planet.
'If the World God could weaken his foundation, he could do the same,' was Night Sky's thought process when he had made this decision.
And it had seemed to work for a while, as all living creatures with sentience; all beings who could pray to the World God were wiped out within a few hundred years.
Unfortunately, a huge number of large beasts attacked his civilisation. These creatures were not normal in size or nature. They were highly aggressive, and killed all those who were part of his race. And they were almost double the size of normal beasts, with incredibly tough skin, muscles, and armour.
The swords of his race were unable to harm the creatures, and the armours unable to protect from the fangs and claws. The normal individuals of his species were powerless.
Only the Magi, the individuals wielding Magic were able to hold their own against the beasts. That too, only the stronger ones were able to take down the beasts. Unfortunately, such individuals were only in the single digits in his race, nowhere near the hundreds and thousands of beasts that had been released into the world by the world god. Together with the fact that even the plants and trees were actively trying to hinder if not outright kill the individuals of his species.
And thus, he had been forced to utilise his talent. Manifesting himself in the world with high quantities of Collective Energy, and one at a time, take down the beasts.
The original battle of dominance, had turned into a battle of attrition. Night Sky had destroyed the foundation of the World God, but the latter still had an existing amount of faith he could use as he wished to attack Night Sky's race, in the hope of eliminating it and allowing life to flourish on his planet once more. On the other hand, The World God had consistently affected the survival conditions for Night Sky's race, and using the unnatural beasts, forced Night Sky to constantly expend his foundation; the Collective Energy.
Any Collective Energy not input back into the race for reproduction, or stored for future use, was wasted population for the species, and thus their potential being wasted.
This situation was now a delicate balance on both sides. The World God no longer made any drastic moves, either out of options, or knowing his actions were just enough to allow him to come out victorious. Night Sky was constantly expending Collective Energy to Manifest himself to kill a beast that would have otherwise killed a lot of his race.
And now, Night Sky had gained the genius idea to sell the information about Magic, which his species had already learned a long time ago, in exchange for large amounts of Collective Energy.
With the bit he gained from James Wehrmacht, he had Manifested multiple times to kill of a few beasts successfully. Plus, he would be gaining a good portion more from the same Race Spirit.
'Now… I just need more… a lot more…' Night Sky turned to the Star Cluster forum and began selling his information to others in exchange for collective Energy.
'Selling it to those close by… would be more beneficial. My species has had longer to work with Magic, and once I beat the World God, I should be able to escape this planet and conquer others. Those closer would be more likely to be conquered before they can make enough progress with the power,' Night Sky nodded to himself in understanding.
He knew that selling the information to those very far away would make things rather equal in terms of time considering how long it would take for him to reach them. This was not the best solution to his current problem, and instead would be creating more issues.
Night Sky sighed in resignation at how stubborn the World God was being, before deciding he would win this battle, one way or another.

{AN: Sorry for not posting for a while. Some stuff came up and caused some issues IRL. Anyways, I'm back, and this chapter was an introduction to Night Sky, and important figure in this story.}
