"Smelly rat, you finally got out!"
Above the Spade Kingdom's royal capital, Ladin glared at Dante, who had just rushed out of the castle with an arrogant grin.
"You stinky bastard, do you want me to slap that mouth of yours shut?"
Without hesitation, Ladin hurled an electric spear at him. Dante didn't even dodge. The moment he activated his gravity field, all magic should have been crushed.
"Stinky rat… How is that possible?!" To his shock, the extreme gravity failed to suppress the electric spear. With a pop, it pierced straight through Dante's chest.
"Bastard!"
Dante grabbed the lightning spear with one hand and tried to yank it out, but golden lightning surged through him with a violent sizzle.
"Arrogant bastard! Taste thunder and lightning!" Ladin shouted as he hurled a bolt of lightning.
The burning smell of charred flesh spread as Dante's body was electrocuted by billions of volts of electricity. Paralysis overwhelmed him—he couldn't even move.
"Go to hell! Super Thunder Ball!" Ladin roared, lightning bursting from his palm.
Countless green electric spheres shot toward Dante. The residents and soldiers of the Spade Kingdom stared wide-eyed at the scene above.
Whose general is this?
He's so brave—going up against the devil's contractor is basically suicide!
No one believed Ladin could actually defeat Dante.
"Courting death!" With a furious roar, Dante's body transformed—80% Devil form.
Two horns sprouted from his head, black demon wings unfurled behind him, and dark matter spread over his skin. His expression twisted with ferocity as he stared at Ladin.
Success.
In an instant, Dante appeared behind Ladin. Gravity magic exploded outward, pulverizing everything nearby into dust.
"Too slow." Ladin, empowered by the Sky Demon, reached his peak speed, pulling away instantly.
The storm of electric spheres continued to slam into Dante's body.
"Stinky rat!" Dante's rage boiled over.
Gravity magic allowed him to heal any physical wounds, but he'd never been this humiliated—nearly dominated by Ladin.
The electric blasts left massive holes in Dante's body, but each wound closed as quickly as it appeared.
This isn't working anymore!
Both men shared the same thought—they needed to finish this fast.
Dante cranked his gravity magic to its limit, but he still couldn't lay a hand on Ladin.
"Die!"
Gravity magic expanded wildly. Ladin remained unharmed, but the entire royal capital was crushed under the weight of Dante's power.
Ladin countered from the sky, unleashing fire, thunder, and earth demon energy in a relentless barrage.
But Dante's body seemed beyond magic's reach—it wasn't taking any meaningful damage.
When gods fight, mortals suffer.
The two reckless monsters didn't give a damn about the people below—they only saw each other.
The soldiers, loyal to the Dark Triad, didn't evacuate anyone. Their humanity was long gone.
If only the Grinberryall royal family still ruled the Spade Kingdom…
That was the people's only wish.
"This is the only way... Unleash the full power of the Fire Demon!"
Ladin roared furiously. Flames engulfed his entire body, and he looked like a demon rising from Purgatory's volcano.
A sharp horn grew from his head. His black wings turned blood-red. A crimson tail lashed behind him.
"Sword of the Flame Demon!" A blazing sword materialized. Ladin's eyes hardened with fierce resolve. "If I had to burn out every last drop of my fire demon power to make these bastards pay, so be it."
"Come here."
As long as Dante touched a vital point, gravity magic would shatter it instantly.
"I'm coming!" Dante grinned maniacally. As Ladin rushed toward him, Dante was fully prepared.
"Cross Flame: Demon Explosion!" Ladin roared.
A massive flaming cross shot toward Dante. Instead of dodging, he charged straight in.
Caught.
Flames consumed Dante's body, but he forced through the inferno, his hand landing on Ladin's torso.
A dark circle of gravity surrounded them. Dante wasn't just aiming for Ladin's heart—he wanted to crush his entire body into paste.
"Checkmate," Dante said, smirking.
"I should be the one saying that." Expressionless, Ladin curved his lips into a sinister grin.
With a puff, Dante spat blood. He looked down at the gash across his chest in disbelief.
His heart had been split in two.
"Useless toy." Deep in the final layer of the Underworld, Lucifer used his devil power to keep Dante's soul tethered.
If the Gates of the Underworld weren't still closed, he would've shredded this "toy" himself.
"This is the last move." Ladin channeled the last of his Fire Demon power and condensed a lightning spear, aiming straight at Dante's heart.
But with a clang, a silver-white bone spike erupted from a space portal and knocked the spear aside.
Damn it…
Ladin narrowed his eyes at the figures emerging from the space tunnel. Zenon and Vanica's sudden arrival saved Dante at the last second.
"You just don't listen, do you?" After facing Ladin once before, Zenon understood he couldn't waste any time.
His body was already being consumed by devil power—he couldn't afford another loss.
"Brother Zenon, leave this to me. Take Dante to Moris and give him a good upgrade. He's way too weak."
Vanica's eyes lit up at the sight of Ladin. It had been too long since she'd met such a strong opponent. She was practically itching for a fight.
It would've been even better if it was a woman.
"Let's go together. No reason to fight alone when we can team up." Zenon used his space magic to hurl Dante straight to Moris' lab.
The mad scientist of the Diamond Kingdom would no doubt make Dante stronger.
"Heavenly Thunder!" The instant Zenon and Vanica appeared, Ladin gathered every drop of magic he had left, condensing it into a blinding yellow sphere of pure energy.
Zenon swung his bone whip. Ladin hurled the electric sphere skyward, ready to bury both of them in a thunderstorm of nature itself.
"Brother Zenon, afraid of losing?" Vanica grinned wildly as her devil power surged to fifty percent.
Blood gushed from her body as she charged straight at Ladin.
The sky over the Spade Kingdom darkened. Thunderclouds roared. The electric sphere fed on the power of nature.
Ladin could only stall it for so long.
Just as he tried to spread his wings to retreat, Zenon's space cube trapped him. Vanica's blood magic flooded in through the spatial rift.
"Combination Magic: Blood of the Space Cage!"
Blood-red spikes impaled Ladin's body, suspending him inside the space block. He coughed a massive mouthful of blood, his body drenched and dripping crimson.
"Brother Zenon, aren't you being too serious?"
Vanica tilted her head. Zenon's entire body was wrapped in black demonic matter—horns, wings, and the cross marking on his face fully active. His devil power was at 85%.
"Don't get careless." Zenon kept compressing the space.
He wouldn't relax until Ladin was dead.
"How boring~" Vanica pouted, unimpressed.
Seriously… this guy's a loser.
How the hell did my brothers lose to him?
She smirked to herself.
Maybe I'm just stronger than both of them.
