Chapter 49 - Points Skyrocket, the System Turns Black-Market

Xu Dan shrugged. He seriously didn't believe a billionaire like this would become anyone's "fan."

In the eyes of capitalists, everything was just… ordinary.Entertainment superstars were "performers," gang bosses were "useful chess pieces."

How could someone like that possibly idolize a small-time game developer like him?

Tony Stark led Xu Dan into one of Stark Industries' warehouses.

Among the countless underground storage rooms, eighty percent were sealed military weapons—he no longer sold those harmful toys to the outside world.

And Tony kept rambling nonstop.

"You know, my favorite character in The King of Fighters is Mai Shiranui! That figure of hers—wow, no words. I even sent Happy across America to find the most accurate cosplayer, but that guy never reported back!"

"..."

"Oh right! Did you design Mai's character settings yourself? Absolutely amazing!"

"..."

"Hey, can you secretly tell me if Warcraft has any guaranteed-win cheats? Or hidden map easter eggs? I promise I won't tell anyone else!"

"..."

While Xu Dan was about to mentally collapse from the conversation, Tony finally passed the authentication and opened the warehouse door.

Inside, the space was wide and bright, filled with neatly arranged electronic equipment.

Xu Dan listened to Tony's professional introduction while inspecting the servers himself.

They were indeed far stronger than the standard machines he had at the company—at least five times the performance!

"What's the price?"

"I don't want to talk price with you."

"Huh? What?" Xu Dan froze. What was this guy doing?

Tony gave a mysterious smile and explained, "I told you, I'm your fan. I really hope you can keep making amazing creations. So the first ten units are on the house—consider it my support. After that, if you need more, I'll give you a twenty-percent discount. Of course, only ten are ready to leave the warehouse right now. If you want a large order, I'll speed up production."

Xu Dan was genuinely surprised.Could the legendary Tony Stark really be a fan of his games?

That was… unbelievable!

World domination by video games was just around the corner?

He didn't plan to refuse—not because he liked taking advantage, but because internationally, things worked differently. At home, people pretended to push benefits around, but here, you just accepted it.

Refusing would actually make the other party feel disrespected.

"Thanks. When my next game comes out, I'll let you play it early."

Tony's face brightened instantly. "Another project already? Wow! Warcraft—a masterpiece like that—just came out, and you're already planning the next one? Incredible!"

Xu Dan shook his head. "Yeah, but it's just a rough idea. I haven't even thought of a name yet."

"No matter what, I'm looking forward to it! My company's delivery team will send the equipment to you directly. Want to come upstairs for a drink?" Tony offered.

Tony loved alcohol—but he wasn't a drunk, he just enjoyed drinking.

Xu Dan, however, didn't like alcohol at all. After all, "Three cups drown in worldly dust; one pot builds a legacy."

He still needed to purchase more equipment. A truly powerful company had to manufacture the world's top hardware itself.

Antarctic Games looked profitable right now, but it still wasn't enough to expand into new departments.

Reality was harsh.

"No thanks. When I get back, I still need to rush out the next version of Warcraft. Unlike you, I'm not that free."

"Well… I'm actually not that free either, you know. I have a lot of work to do. Yep." Tony insisted defensively.

Being mistaken for a slacker was embarrassing.

Afternoon

A row of trucks bearing the Stark Industries logo pulled up under Antarctic Games.

Xu Dan immediately issued an online maintenance announcement for Warcraft—online battles temporarily disabled, offline play still available.

With this batch of premium servers going online, the occasional lag in multiplayer would finally be solved. In his past life, everyone played through third-party platforms; this time, Xu Dan built the multiplayer system directly into the game package. Much more convenient!

Honestly, thanks to optimization packs, all his games ran like masterpieces—players could run max settings smoothly even on junk computers.

Ironically, that—combined with overwhelming player enthusiasm—was what caused his servers to crash!

Anyone who played League of Legends knew how painful server lag could be.

As a responsible game developer, he had to eliminate that.

The move was immediately praised by players, and even more new users flooded in. Naturally, total playtime soared.

Xu Dan opened the System Points Shop and glanced at the corner—his points balance flashed an eight-digit number.

Thirty-six million!

All earned in just the past few days.

Previously, he spent thirty million to buy optimization packs for Warcraft. That thirty million had taken The King of Fighters a long time to accumulate.

Now, with both games running together, he'd made over thirty million in only a few days.

Insane.

And Warcraft was definitely the main points generator.

Just like last time, the System Points Shop had updated with new items.

Xu Dan looked at the interface—Warcraft-related skills and items filled the page.

Blizzard — 100,000 points

Water Elemental — 100,000 points

Wind Walk — 100,000 points

Far Sight — 100,000 points

"Damn, this is daylight robbery! These cost way more than the KoF skills! Even minor skills are a hundred thousand! And what's this useless Far Sight? If I'm nearsighted, does that count as a skill?"

You couldn't blame Xu Dan for complaining—small KoF skills used to be only a few thousand points. Now Warcraft skills started at a hundred thousand!

This inflation jumped straight from the founding era to the modern capital.

Who could survive this?!

He had thirty-six million points now, but he had to save thirty million for the next game's optimization pack. That meant he could only spend six million.

And at these prices… he couldn't buy anything truly powerful!

"System, get out here! Explain yourself, or I'm uninstalling you!"

"Replying to host: different world power levels require different pricing."

"What about Orochi then? That guy was the Will of Earth!"

"Replying to host: different world quality tiers."

Xu Dan: "…"

He kept scrolling…

Mass Teleport — 1,000,000 points

Avatar — 1,000,000 points

Death and Decay — 1,000,000 points

Blade Storm — 1,000,000 points

"Looks like minor skills cost a fixed hundred thousand, whether they're strong or useless. Ultimate skills are a fixed one million each, no matter what." Xu Dan sighed.
