Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12

NARRATOR POV

Trees raced past as Ariel sprinted alongside his father's shadow, his feet barely making a sound as they struck the ground. Ether, his father, was both amazed and concerned as he ran ahead, frequently glancing back to check if Ariel could keep up with him. Despite running at his slowest pace to accommodate his son, Ariel's face was pale, and he was gasping for air. Eventually, he came to a halt to take a sip from his water bottle. Ether paused for a moment, observing his son reach for the bottle, a smile playing on his lips. He walked up to him, patting his shoulder," We could rest if u want, we are not in a hurry," Ariel gasped for air as he popped the bottle from his mouth," I'm fine, I can keep going for a while longer." Ether released a breath as he backed away from Ariel.

Both father and son kept running for days, only to take breaks at night to eat and refill their bottles. The traveling went on for three days before they both ended up in a remote location on the third night of their travel. Ether set up tents while Areil collapsed on a nearby bush, gulping down greedily the last bit of water in his bottle. Ether glanced back at him a couple of times to ensure he did not fall asleep on the shrub while he set up the tent. After they both got settled in the tent ether forced him up, clearing his throat before speaking, "So, uhm, Areil u are going to die sooner or later, and I can't tell your mother that, so u know my friend Jo'el said your body accepts holy power, which is not a surprise to me, so we are here to find a solution to that hence we won't go home until u are cured" Areil dazed by all he had his father say kept a straight face and asked if he could sleep now, with a nod of approval he received from his father he turned his head away wishing for the sleep to claim him but his mind still ran around knowing he could still die if he is ever to lax and the energy in his body should collide he still was noy strong enough to manipulate his mana vessels around to support holy power. He sighed as he slowly let go of all his thoughts, and he felt his father settle right beside him. He finally drifts off to sleep, leaving his major problem to his father.'

Areil was woken up by the sound of sizzling outside the tent. He woke up grumpy as he stepped out of the tent. His father stretched a plate to him, mumbling to himself before calling out to Areil, " We start today, eat fast so I can explain the routine to you." Areil nodded slowly as he ate. After food, Ether went out to map out their location, giving Ariel enough time to rest and freshen up. Ether got back minutes later. Ariel was ready for the routine, which his father had not bothered to explain yet, Areil eyes trailed his father as he sat on a piece of log close to the tent, gesturing for Ariel to come closer. "First, after breakfast, you run laps, you have poor endurance, then we do some heavy lifting we need your body strong if it is going to contain to conflicting energies and a dragon body is not going to cut, then Lunch after lunch I help you with mana control which will ease your pain for your first transformation which might come later on then you learn fighting techniques from me after mana control then u rest. You can start your laps now, " Areil nodded slowly as he listened to the last bit of what Ether said before making his way through the forest, sprinting.
