Chapter 35 - Chapter 34: Little Robin’s Dark Hour Begins

"Hahaha! Mommy, look! Uncle Kavi got peed on by Sister Kuina!" Little Robin shouted gleefully, making sure everyone could hear.

Olivia chuckled from the side. "My, Uncle Kavi really is popular with children."

Kavi's face darkened. "Little Robin, have you already forgotten how you used to wet the bed? The whole thing was soaked!"

Fine. If you want to embarrass me, let's see who can go lower.

Robin's cheeks turned crimson.

She stammered, covering her face with both hands as she shook her head frantically.

"I didn't! I didn't! I didn't!"

'Heh. I'll make sure you regret this for the rest of your life, little Robin. Obedience is your only salvation.'

"Uncle Kavi, bullying children now? Really?" Olivia scolded, arms crossed, playing the stern mother.

Kavi: "…"

'You'd better hope I never find your embarrassing stories.'

After staying three days in Shimotsuki Village, the group finally followed Dragon back to the Revolutionary Army's headquarters—an extremely remote island lost in the blues.

Kavi quickly grew familiar with the top brass.

O'Hara's surviving scholars were there, hidden from the world, delving into forbidden knowledge in secret until the Revolutionary Army's victory allowed it to resurface.

Olivia joined them without hesitation.

As for little Robin, Kavi already knew what she wanted—he didn't even need to ask.

Sooner or later, she'd go out to sea.

If she wanted to truly chase the void century and its secrets, then knowledge alone wasn't enough.

She needed power to protect herself—and those texts.

This was her journey.

Kavi had no intention of holding her hand the entire way.

But what he could do was help her build a better foundation than the version of her that was once captured and branded a threat.

Naturally, Robin protested. She insisted she just wanted to study, not fight.

So, Kavi made a decision: training by day, studying by night.

Robin ran to Olivia for help, hoping for a reprieve.

But after witnessing the destruction of O'Hara, Olivia now understood how important strength truly was.

She gave Robin a gentle smile… and fully supported Kavi's plan.

Kavi briefly considered including Olivia in the training.

But after giving her age and profession some thought, he figured it was better to just find her a useful Devil Fruit when the time came.

And so began Little Robin's Dark Era.

"Don't pout. I'm doing this for your own good," Kavi muttered, watching Robin's sullen expression.

He suddenly understood every strict parent he ever had.

When he was a child, he thought they were just mean.

But now? He realized—they were all just trying to make him stronger.

With this powerful sense of righteousness, he could now train—not abuse—! Robin guilt-free.

"Alright. Warm-up: three laps around the island. You've got this, Little Robin! I believe in you!"

Robin looked out at the island's endless shoreline. Cold sweat formed at her temples. Her lips twitched into a stiff smile.

"Uncle Kavi… are you joking?"

"Does it look like I'm joking? Run." Kavi's expression was flat, immovable.

Robin's heart sank. She started to run, her tiny legs pumping reluctantly.

'Kavi's serious. I'm doomed.'

He trailed her closely, making sure she didn't slack off.

When she slowed, he'd "motivate" her with… enthusiasm.

The truth was simple: the more hardship she experienced now, the stronger she'd be when it mattered.

"Stupid Uncle Kavi! How could you treat me like this?" Robin muttered bitterly under her breath, making sure he didn't hear.

"What was that, Little Robin?" Kavi asked casually from right behind her.

"Ah! I said… I really feel the burn! Your methods are amazing! I can already feel myself getting stronger!" she squeaked, her mind scrambling for a way out.

Kavi narrowed his eyes. "Is that so? Alright then. Two more laps."

"What?!"

"Do you have an objection?"

"…No…"

Robin gave up. There was no escape. Kavi could read her like a book.

By the time she finished five laps, her legs were like jelly.

She could barely keep her head up.

"Hah… I did it. Uncle Kavi, I finished." Her smile returned, small but proud.

"Not bad," Kavi said, nodding. "But you've got a long way to go to catch up to your senior sister."

"Wait, what?" Robin blinked. "I have a senior sister?"

"Of course. You're my second apprentice. She's likely in the Navy now." Kavi looked up, deep in thought.

"With her talent, she should already be making waves."

Robin's curiosity burned in her chest. "What's she like?"

Kavi chuckled, ruffling her hair.

"She was a handful. Always trying to get revenge on me. Thought I didn't know, but I caught her sneaking up on me while I was asleep.

Taught her a lesson she wouldn't forget. She cried the whole day. So be good, and don't follow in her footsteps."

Robin nodded quickly. "Don't worry, Uncle Kavi. I'll never make you angry!"

'Not now, anyway…But one day, I'll find Senior Sister. And we'll team up. Then… then you'll pay, Uncle Kavi. Just you wait.'

A secret plan formed in her tiny mind.

Kavi, blissfully unaware, smiled with satisfaction.

"Good girl. If something happens and I'm not around, find your senior sister. Her name's Kallen Rosa."

'That's right. Go to her. Don't come bothering me.'

Somewhere far away, Rosa sneezed.

"Alright," Robin said cheerfully. "Now can I rest?"

"Ahem. You've rested enough. Two more laps."

"What?! Uncle Kavi, you're trying to kill me!"

But it was no use. Robin dragged her feet and took off again, groaning dramatically.

With every step, one thought became stronger:

'One day, I, Nico Robin, will get my revenge. And I won't do it alone. I'll bring Senior Sister. And together… we will bring justice to Uncle Kavi!'
