Chapter 31:The Wall In Okinawa
In the outskirts of Russia,a cold coated snow storm roamed. An isolated prison which held some of the most dangerous prisoners in the world.Including the world's greatest assassin Toru. He had originally been sentenced to life in prison due to illegal assassinations but after the police system carefully looked at his current situation,his time in prison was lowered to a few years.
He had moved to Japan with his wife in hope of finding a cure for her awful sickness. He had retired from being an assassin but…the offer still stands. He did it for money,for her.Lily,his sweet flower.How sweet of him to kill for her.
Toru and Lily moved to Okinawa by the beach where they could admire the view.Ever since Irai had possession of the moon stone,a strange wall had been spotted around the beach in Okinawa.
Chief Lenny tried to break it but had no idea how and the ancient book didn't say anything about this wall. So for 3 whole years this wall was a mystery.
Lenny forced Toru to move to break this wall as he was known to be one of the most strongest humans currently.And Toru got benefits as well such as medicine for his wife.
Chief Lenny met the two on the sandy beach,just by the ocean.
"Hello Toru and Lily."
"Hello."Toru shook his hand.
"You have a firm grip!"
"Thank you.I train a lot."
"I can tell.."He had lots of muscle.
He was wearing a white suit and a white hat.
One black eye with a red pupil while the other was normal.
Brown,luxurious hair shimmered in the sunlight's gaze.
And his green eyes reflected so perfectly…it was so satisfying.
Lily was pretty like the flower.Her dress was long and her blonde hair must have been long considering it was tied up into a bun.
"Hello Chief Lenny!It's an honor. To be here…"Lily introduced herself. He smiled in reply but hesitated to shake her hand.
"Oh!I'm sorry.."
"Don't be.Anyways this is the house you'll be staying in.The one at the top of the hill."He pointed to a large house facing opposite of the beach on top of a hill.
"Intersting…what's with the samurai?"Toru pointed towards the Genshi.
"They're working with us."He approached the Genshi and greeted everyone.
"Cough Cough!"Lily coughed into her arm,she sounded like a dying lion trying to escape fate.Which in her case its true.
Toru had looked above to see civilians of Japan circling the beach.Murmers spread through the crowd and they had seemed to be getting closer every second.
"KEEP YOUR DISTANCE PEOPLE!"Chief Lenny shouted. He ordered everyone to go back and they had to co operate with him other wise they would be arrested.
Everybody stood back including the Genshi,Lily and some other police officers.
Chief Lenny had ordered previously to drill a hole so that it was easier for Toru to punch.Toru took a few steps back and formed his hand into a fist.
Irai watched from the distance.His physique was amazing…Maku rolled his eyes.Another show off.Kimiko rubbed her hands together. It was cold on that day.Everytime she breathed,a cold mist would emerge from her mouth.Toru halted for a while.His fist slowly turned green.Well it had a glowing green aura.His wielding ability was still yet to be discovered.
BAM!
A large dent erupted through the walls barrier. It broke into numerous pieces of rocks,all tumbling down like an avalanche.
"Wow…so strong!"Yanagi exclaimed.She quickly arrived a few minutes late but managed to capture the event.
Irai memorised Toru's movements.His position,his placement,his power.Everything was great about him.
"I wonder if he's rich.."Irai questioned,pointing towards the fancy uniform.
"He probably is but I wouldn't care about it that much."
"I never said if you cared about it Maku!"
He gritted his teeth and deflected the mist into the sky.
"Oh boy what do we have here?"Lenny chuckled. He took a bite out of a taco and inspected what was behind the wall.
"A black wall?With..with a door?"
"That felt hard.."Toru whimpered.His fist was ruby red.Literally. He returned to Lily who was a by stander in the distance along with the crowd.
"Are you ok my dear?"She frantically asked.
"I guess so.."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes.I'm fine.All that matters is that you're alright,ok?"She smiled.
"I understand."Irai walked up to the two of them to ask a question.
"Hello..Irai."
"You know me?"
"Of course I know you!Chief Lenny told me about you.
"Oh…"
"Not the answer you were looking for?"
"I was hoping I would be more popular."
"Eh.Don't.Trust me you don't need to seek people's validation."
"I get what you mean."
"How old are you?"
"19.You?"
"Mid twenties.And my lovely wife over here is around the same age as me!Can you believe that?"
"Both 25.You look young for your ages."
"Thanks!"They said at the same time.
"Sorry for your losses by the way."
"You mean Emma and Aizakku?"
"Yeah.And your Dad who died three years ago.I think..Kurisu?"I nodded and faced the ground,trying to hide my sudden tears.
"Sorry if I said the wrong thing."
"No!It's fine you just reminded me of him.I try not to think about him.I walk through his footsteps with actions not words."
"That's mature of you."
"Wait..why are you here in the first place?"
"I originally came here to find medicine for Lily but Chief Lenny called the strongest person he knew to come to Okinawa so we specifically chose our house to be in the exact location of the mysterious wall."
"Hope your wife gets better."
"Thank you."As Irai glanced at the wall. He noticed something strange.
"TORU!COME OVER HERE."The three of them ran towards the void like wall.A door was there and it needed a key.
"You think you can forge a key into this?"
"I'll try."He let go of Lily's hand and placed his hands together,shutting his eyes.
"So Toru's like a craftsmen?That's his power?"
"Yes."Lenny replied.Just in a few seconds,he had created a key out of nowhere. He using the creation technique to make a key instead of absorbent technique because what material was there to absorb?
He placed the key carefully into the hole and twisted it.Surprisingly,it fit.Inside was a complete void.His silhouette disappeared a few seconds after he began to walk.
"Toru?"Lily cried out.Lenny held her back. He had hope in Toru. He was strong.
A few minutes went by and not a single sound or movement came out of the void.People were bitting their teeth.Lenny had sweat all over his face and Lily distanced herself from everybody else.
"Why don't we enable chromo visualling?"Kimiko suggested.
They had no other choice but to proceed.Lenny's eyes change to rainbow. He was as still as a lizard.His soul parted from his body.
"Magnificent…"Lily whispered.
"I'm sure you've seen your husband do that before haven't you?"I asked.
"No I haven't…"She looked worried. We were still waiting on Toru.Lenny's eyes reverted back to normal. He pointed at the door.
"I can't see anything in there. It's way too dark."
"WHAT?"
"Yeah I know.Tricky circumstances."
The group waited another 2 minutes and Lily wasn't having it.She kept screaming for her husband to come back but he didn't.What happened in the void?Was Irai going to lose another?Another one of his comrades?He couldn't.There was no way he could lose another.
A shattering heartbreak hit him.A realisation of something.All this suffering in the world…it's never going to end.
"Irai are you ok?"Lenny came up to him just to point out that his eyes were facing opposite ways.Irai's mouth began to foam and he got dizzy.
"It's all…apart of the…demon's plan isn't it…"He didn't even know what he was muttering myself.
"Huh?"Maku and Kimiko glanced at each other and knew what Irai was talking about.
"The book!The ancient book!The demon in it!"
"What?"
"One of the members of the ancient trio,the-"
"DONT SAY IT."A member of the crowd shouted.
"Why not?"
"It's…a cursed trio.Please have mercy upon us."
Everybody was begging for mercy.Their faces turned distorted.The sky turned red.3 portals appeared out of nowhere on the beach. An angel came out of the first,a sea serpent came out of the next and a demon came out of the third.Kimiko had a vision.She tried to use time wielding but it wasn't working.
"Really?"The serpent spoke.
"W-what?"Kimiko stuttered,lost for words.Lost in a dark trance between time and space..
"You try to defy time RIGHT in front of the most powerful beings in the universe?In your first encounter?"
"You startled me!"
"You have a good spirit in you Genshi."The angel spoke.
"You're meant to be good not with them?"
"For now we are one but we shall part our souls on the day we return."
"What does that mean?"
"You will see.A great payoff indeed."
Kimiko snapped.They were all gone.She breathed with a sigh of relief.Everything was back to normal.Toru suddenly appeared after Kimiko's vision. He was breathing rapidly as well.
"What's the matter with you two?"
"Trances."The two of them turned their heads slowly.
"Oh no!"Lily whimpered.She ran towards Toru and hugged him tightly.
"What did you two just see now?"
"We both saw a vision at the same time.I saw it in the void.The ILO said they were going to split ways on the day they return.I don't know how or why Kimiko saw it aswell."
"Well this can't be good then."Maku entered the conversation and Yanagi ran towards them.The group began to discuss what to do.
"Maku remember those letters I told you about?"
"Yeah."
"We need replies. If our old friends can reply or at least help then we can take down the ILO and protect the moonstone."
