That`s what was left of human "soldiers" after the goblins attacked.
The ones who died, the front man , someone named John and one person no one knew, were put aside. There was no time for burial, medical care or any other proper way to deal with the injured in battle.
Why? very simple

The remains all had the same message in front of their faces, so no one thought of anything else at the moment. Except not in the normal way.
Adam was weird - he wanted this. At first not that much, since blood and death and monsters are scary, but after getting to know them, being closer with those things, he stopped to care. He can`t die if he kills the monster first. Bleeding will stop. Monsters are just small green people with bad equipment. So - no problem. Fighting them was fun.
And others were apparently also crazy enough. A selfie with 2 separated goblin heads was soon uploaded to the internet, someone else was throwing goblin corpses into a wall, one was poking them with their sword like a child with a stick.
'Why do I get the crazy ones' As he made sure the goblin without its head is 100% dead by stabbing its chest.
Eventually he humans got together after they got bored of the dead ones.
"So" armored lady said, based on the voice "Now what"
"Same thing - monster come alive, and they don`t return alive." Left of Adam, deeper voice
"Man, they don`t return at all" Left of that guy remarked quickly.
"Fine fine. What i meant was - we kill them" he starred back at the guy
3 people lowered their heads in embarrassment.
"I think what she meant was, what tactic we have" Adam cut in the dumb conversation
"Yes" the lady said again "(thanks)" nudged Adam
"Oh that`s simple, one line of defense in front of the gate. No one goes out, we stick side to side and we should be fine" someone with a higher tone spoke up."
"....." loud silence from the rest 6
"I`ll take it as a 'yes' " he said again.
[Wave 2 is now starting]
[Good luck]
"okay people. get someone on your left and right. People on the edges. Have fun"
Adam and the lady were the unlucky ones and their disappointment was very visible even without seeing their faces.
Goblins started to appear.
Very similar to wave 1, just different goblins. Spears ,swords, and axes - almost the same lineup.
And then the commander came out. And he was maybe a bit bigger. Maybe.
*KRAAGHAAAAAAAAAA* he shouted out loud while pointing the banner forward
*AU AU AUUU* the goblins shouted and began their march
"This is the same thing right?" middle guy asked loud.
"How in the f**k are we supposed to know" the deeper voice answered.
"I mean it looks the same" another one continued.
"SHUT UP" the lady, Adam and the higher voice at the same time.
and they did shut up and in the meantime the goblins came close enough to attack.
Spears lunged forward, and this time the people were ready.
Some tried to smash them with swords, other attempted to block the tip with their armor. That turned out very successfully actually. Spears broke, and shortly after the first row of goblins too. Each strike from the sword could pierce their skin or smash their bones in some cases.
As a soldier on the edge, Adam had to deal with 2 again, but without a problem he struck the one coming from the side. While his new friend on the right took care of his attacker, the goblin between them had a moment of shock. Not sure of which man to attack and watching his green comrade get his head destroyed.
Adam took advantage and lunged the blade into his chest and pulling it out as fast as possible.
After the spears came the swords, shorter but faster. With more aim they could actually hit the unarmored parts of the soldiers. And some did, one monster managed to injure an arm, other the lower torso. The riposte for their attacks came very quickly and deadly.
The lady on the other side almost got hit in the legs too, but in her case the moment the goblin ran at her, his face was smashed in with a good back slap from her gauntlet. Many of the soldier were employing similar tactics - punches or knees to the gut. Those who had experience with beating up others, using axes or just played baseball could use the swords better but still, they enjoyed the mushy texture of a goblin face after the punch.
The last line of monsters was hesitating a bit, not sure if attacking in the same way as their friends was the right thing to do. Thankfully, they had a great leader. And his next command was : *KRAAGHAAAAAAAAAA* which sounded exactly the same as the one before.
the goblins screamed out again and charged faster forward, clearly not a great plan.
People started to spread out a little but still destroying the monsters without problems. Axes even shorter than the swords couldn`t reach far enough to touch. The only one that did manage to hit, struck the greaves of some guy who kicked it with full force, sending the goblin back.
The commander was standing still, taken aback by the death of his soldiers, started to slowly back up to the gate. But as he did, humans started to come closer, surrounding him.
He swung his spear banner at someone, but in panic and against calm brutality of the human soldiers, it got split in half by one sword and his torso got pierced by another.
The goblins were no more, not a single one moving.
"Shouldn`t there be like a ..... reward? ending message ?"
"Ah shit wait" The guy who kicked the axe realized something and went to were he stood in formation. " I think I knocked one out instead of killing"
"Do you know which one?"
"Ummmmmm " he looked around, trying to find some movement or difference between the goblins "No"
"Ughhhhhh" The loud sound was heard from every other soldier
They started stabbing EVERY . SINGLE . BODY on the ground. Because of course, there wasn`t just one unconscious goblin. And every other stab, they could hear a slight scream from the dying goblins.
[Wave 2 has been completed]
"WOOOOO" the high pitched man threw his hands in the air "LETS GOOOOO"
Chest bumps, hugs or other celebratory signs went around everybody.
Adam went to the soldier lady and extended his hand.
"Sup. Nice killing" he said in a slightly weird way, but without realizing what he said
"Thanks, good job too....." she shook his hand finally with a hard grip.
"Adam" as the silence was pretty long and obvious "....."
"Claire. Nice to meet you Adam"
"And I`m Josh" the higher pitched man butted in , sounding very happy.
"Hi." they answered shortly.
"So.....you have any plans after this" pointing at the general pile of goblin bodies
"I don`t know really. My plans were to get to work but I don`t think that`s happening"
"No it is not thank god. Mine would have called me like 5 times by now if they were working"
the conversation was soon stopped by another pop-up window.

A small wooden board on a chain with weird symbols on it appeared in front of them, but most of the soldiers were looking else where.
The 21/22 number meant only one thing- someone else died. And there it was, a single child laying nearby.
The soldier group came to him and carried him to the 3 dead soldiers in armor.
After a while of silence , the armors on them started to smoke. same with goblin bodies around them.
Everything that came from the gate caught flame and turned into smoke, the armor on the men disappeared too. Leaving them in their normal outfits, but still. dead.
Adam left. Others began to walk away too shortly after, one after another.
Last person stood there for a while in silence, But then they left eventually too.
There was no one left on the scene. No soldiers, no civilians, no monsters.
Just the dead 4 , laid against a wall. Cold and silent.
