Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: The terror of the 'Perfect Marksmanship' skill

Heiji froze. What was this damn system doing meddling at this moment?

[However, a special D-class mission... this type of mission seems quite good.]

Anyway, for Akemi Miyano to become his assistant, he would need to gain her trust. The system giving him this mission at this moment was practically a gift.

"Gin and I are old friends. Surely, he dreams of catching me."

He only told half of the story, letting Akemi Miyano guess the rest. Often, this produced unexpected results.

[Gin?]

Akemi Miyano's face changed, and she looked at Heiji with a hint of surprise.

Gin was a high-ranking executive of the organization. To be able to be his rival, did it mean that this person was also a high-ranking executive in the past?

"Why did you betray the organization?"

"And why does the organization want to eliminate you?" Heiji counterattacked.

Akemi Miyano was left speechless and a bitter smile appeared on her face: "I want to get my sister out of this organization."

"But you don't understand. To leave the organization, the only option is death."

Akemi Miyano smiled slightly: "As long as there is one chance in ten thousand, I have to try. Well, becherovka, it has been a pleasure meeting you. If fate wills it, we will see each other again."

Having said that, she turned around and left.

Heiji frowned, looking at Akemi Miyano's back: "If you go, you might die."

"Even if I die... I have to try. I don't want Shiho to keep living in a place like that."

Akemi Miyano smiled slightly and left with a natural elegance.

"Congratulations, host, for completing the special D-class mission: Gain the trust of Akemi Miyano. Next, please, choose a number."

The familiar roulette, the familiar nine numbers.

Heiji was a little bewildered: Have I already gained Akemi Miyano's trust?

In reality, some things that to Heiji might seem normal, to Akemi Miyano were details that a common person, and even a high-ranking police officer, would not necessarily know. Therefore, she had already completely believed his words.

"Please, host, choose a number," the system reminded him mechanically.

"Then, 1."

The number '1' suddenly emitted a flash of light.

"Congratulations, host, for obtaining the limited-time skill: Perfect Marksmanship."

"Perfect Marksmanship?"

Heiji stared at the virtual screen. According to his experience, the skill's explanation would soon appear.

Skill: Perfect Marksmanship.

Effect: Upon activating this skill, the host will be able, for ten minutes, to hit the target with any ranged attack, be it shooting, shooting arrows, throwing objects... He will aim where he wants and he will hit.

Drawback: Single-use skill, disappears after being used.

When Akemi Miyano returned to her apartment, she found the door open. Her face changed instantly upon seeing that a child had found the key to the place where she kept the one billion yen.

He felt something strange behind him. Conan's heart lurched and he turned sharply.

Thump!!

A karate chop descended, and Conan instantly felt dizzy as the key was snatched from his hand.

"You... you can't go, they'll kill you."

Akemi Miyano froze for a moment and then smiled: "Thank you, but someone has already told me the same thing. I have to go."

Having said that, she left with her long legs.

[Damn it, if she goes, they will surely kill her.]

Conan didn't have time to think about who that other person Akemi Miyano was talking about was. Now, all he could think about was stopping her, not letting her go to a certain death.

The sound of an engine starting.

Heiji was standing in a hidden place. He clearly saw the tracker that Conan had shot from the floor above, but he didn't stop it.

To the outside world, Akemi Miyano had to die, and Conan would be the eyewitness.

Akemi Miyano drove in silence, but in her mind she remembered Shiho Miyano's face: Sister, I swear I will get you out of this hell.

The red car left the road and entered an industrial area. After several turns, it finally stopped at a large shed.

A person dressed in black appeared in a hidden corner, with a black bag on their back and dark sunglasses that reflected a cold light.

This person was Heiji's third identity. His tracking skills were unquestionable; no one had detected him the entire way.

[This place~~]

After observing the surroundings, he already had a plan in mind.

Inside the shed, Akemi Miyano looked seriously at the two people in front of her: "Gin, where is my sister?"

"Hahahaha~"

Vodka couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"And the money?" Gin said with a cold smile.

"Where is my sister? You promised me. If I completed this mission, my sister and I could leave the organization and live the life a normal person should live," Akemi Miyano asked coldly.

"Heh, heh, less talk, where is the money?"

Gin suddenly raised his pistol and aimed at Akemi Miyano, with an extremely sinister expression.

"I don't have the money. If you don't let my sister leave the organization, don't think about getting it," Akemi Miyano pulled a pistol from her clothes and aimed at Gin.

"You underestimate us too much. That one billion yen is in a hotel safe. We already knew that," Vodka said with an air of smugness.

"Akemi Miyano, goodbye."

As Gin's words finished, a shot rang out.

Clank!

The sound of a bullet falling. No, there was another sound.

"A coin?"

Vodka looked stunned at the coin on the ground, flattened by the impact of the bullet.

A flash of surprise crossed Gin's eyes, but it disappeared in an instant. He looked up to one side, where a person dressed in black like them was slowly approaching, playing with some coins in his hand.

Akemi Miyano was paralyzed. For a moment, she thought she was dead. She never imagined that someone could intercept a bullet in mid-air, and even less so with a coin.

"Is it you?"

A cold light shone in Gin's eyes. He had already recognized Heiji as the man in black who had destroyed his base.

"Gin, let's make a deal. You pretend this woman is dead, and I will spare your lives."

Heiji stood in front of Akemi Miyano, protecting her. At the same time, he took the pistol from her hand and looked at Gin indifferently.

"Spare our lives?"

A cold smile formed on Gin's lips.

Bang, bang, bang!!!

The bullets in Gin's magazine ran out, and absolute silence reigned in the shed.

"Big brother, he has blocked all the bullets."

Vodka looked terrified at Heiji and the pistol that was still smoking in his hand.
