I knew this was going to be a problem the moment Cole Theron walked through those doors.
The way he looked at her. The way she froze. The way the air between them crackled.
I'd cataloged it all in seconds,the threat assessment automatic, instinctive.
And now he was leading her out onto the terrace while his wife,watched with barely concealed hostility, and every political instinct I had was screaming that this was going to explode in our faces.
"We should follow them," I said quietly to my brothers.
Kade's hands were already clenched into fists, his jaw so tight I thought his teeth might crack. "He's touching her."
"He's talking to her," I corrected, though I understood his reaction.
"We give them five minutes," Rowan said, his scarred face troubled. "She deserves that much.
"To what?" Kade turned on him, his voice a low growl. "To let some other wolf remind her of what she's lost? To undermine the bond we just formed?"
