Deep within the forest, a gloomier section loomed- a place where sunlight rarely touched, the air carried the scent of something ancient. Mist curled around gnarled roots like setinient fingers. Adler, Simon and Anya stepped carefully, each footfall echoing as though disturbing the whispers of the past.
The cave ahead was unlike any other hollow. It's entrance was edged with jagged stones etched with faint glowing runes, pulsing softly like a heartbeat. The walls shimmered with an otherworldly light and the air charged with energy that made their skin tingle. This was no mere shelter but a sacred ground where shadows and power converged.
From it depths, movement stirred. A pair of molten golden eyes glimmered in the darkness. The Wings that followed were vast and bat- like, but they carried an unnatural grace, as though the creature itself was bound to the sacred energy in the cave. The giant bat had awakened. Its screech echoed but strangely- it was almost musical- a chilling hymn that resonated with the runes of the cave.
The heirs took to their heels as the bat gave them a long chase.
Simon frustration flared,"Why does it, always find us", he lunged with his blade, but each strike driven by anger seems to feed the bat with strength. The sacred power in the cave seems to amplify the bat's power, twisting the very light around them.
"Simon! Stop!" Her voice trembling, "you are making it stronger".
Adler stepped forward, his eyes scanning the bat movement and the sacred runes. Timing his strike carefully, he plunged his sword into the creature hearts. The bat let out a shriek that reverberated like a chorus of shadow and crystal, then unraveled into wisps of darkness that vanished into the cave mystical glow.
Silence followed, profound and almost reverent, as if the cave itself was exhaling.
Adler staggered, pressing a hand to his chest, a mysterious heartburn, the first sign of dark knight hart's growing presence, warning him of the rumbles of war between their armies and that of the terrorist.
Simon glanced at him, guilt mixed with concern. "I... I didn't it would get this bad"
Anya laid a hand on Adler's shoulder. "We survived and that what matters."
