"You're crazy!" He laughed—so loud, so delirious—that cold fear crawled up my spine.
"This is your fault, Luna. All yours!" His smile was feral, unhinged. "You're the reason I went insane!" He didn't even flinch at the blood flowing from his injured eye. I watched the dark red drops fall to the floor, one by one.
"E–Eros… y-you need to go to the hospital," I whispered, trembling.
"I hate hospitals, Luna." His tone shifted—calm, terrifyingly calm—as he twirled the knife between his fingers like a toy. "Should I just end everything right now? So you'd live the rest of your life drowning in guilt?"
"Please…" My voice cracked. "Put the knife down, Eros. Please." His eyes lit up.
"That reaction… God, it's addictive. I want to see that fear every day." He giggled, actually giggled, like he was enjoying every second of my panic. "For the first time, you're worried about me. This is the best day of my life."
