Keifer's POV
The moment Jay stepped into the prom hall, the world stopped.
It wasn't dramatic in the way movies showed it. No slow motion. No music fading.
It was worse.
Because everything was still moving—but I couldn't.
She stood at the entrance beside Ella and Freya, her hand lightly holding her clutch, her eyes searching the room. Her dress flowed around her like it belonged to her, like it was made only for her. Soft. Elegant. Dangerous.
Mine.
My chest tightened.
I saw it immediately.
The looks.
Boys turning their heads. Conversations stopping. Eyes lingering too long.
Too long.
Aries stepped beside me, following my gaze. He didn't say anything at first. He didn't need to.
He knew.
He always knew.
"…You're glaring," he muttered quietly.
"I'm not."
He snorted. "You look like you're about to commit murder."
I ignored him.
Because one of them was walking toward her.
Tall. Confident. Smiling like he had the right.
He said something to Jay. I couldn't hear it from here, but I saw her polite smile. The one she used when she was being respectful.
Not interested.
But polite.
Still, it didn't matter.
My hands clenched.
I started walking before I even realized it.
Aries didn't stop me.
Jay noticed me halfway. Her eyes softened instantly.
And that smile—
That real smile.
Not the polite one.
Mine.
I stopped beside her, my arm naturally wrapping around her waist. She leaned into me without hesitation.
The boy froze.
He looked between us.
I didn't say anything.
I didn't need to.
He understood.
He gave an awkward nod. "I—I was just saying she looks beautiful."
My jaw tightened.
"I know," I said calmly.
He left after that.
Jay gently squeezed my arm.
"Keifer," she whispered softly, half amused, half scolding. "You scared him."
"I didn't touch him."
"You didn't have to."
I looked down at her.
Up close, she was even more breathtaking.
My wife.
My Jay.
"You shouldn't smile at them," I murmured quietly.
Her eyes widened slightly. "…I was just being polite."
"I know."
I rested my forehead lightly against hers.
"I just don't like it."
Her expression softened instantly.
Her hand came up, resting over my heart.
"You're the only one I see," she said gently.
That did something to me.
Something dangerous and soft at the same time.
I exhaled slowly.
"Good," I whispered.
The music shifted.
A slow song.
Before she could say anything, I held out my hand.
"Dance with me."
She smiled.
She placed her hand in mine.
And I pulled her gently to the center of the floor.
My hand rested on her waist. Hers rested on my shoulder.
She fit there perfectly.
Like she always had.
We moved slowly, naturally.
She rested her head against my chest.
"You've been tense all evening," she murmured.
Because Kaizer exists.
Because threats exist.
Because losing her would destroy me.
But I didn't say that.
Instead, I pressed a soft kiss to her hair.
"I'm fine," I said.
She tilted her head up slightly, her eyes meeting mine.
"You don't have to pretend with me."
I didn't respond immediately.
Because she was right.
My hand tightened slightly on her waist.
"I don't like people looking at you like they can take you," I admitted quietly.
Her fingers curled slightly into my suit.
"They can't."
Her voice was certain.
Absolute.
"I'm yours."
My heart stuttered.
I leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.
Mine.
The music continued around us, but I barely heard it.
I only heard her breathing.
Only felt her warmth.
Across the room, I noticed Aries watching. Alert. Always scanning.
Protecting.
Good.
Because even here—
Even tonight—
Kaizer was still out there.
Watching.
Waiting.
But Jay was in my arms.
Safe.
And I would burn the world before I let anyone take her from me again.
Third Person POV
The prom's final notes faded into a hum of distant city lights, but the night was far from over.
The air, still warm from the day, carried the scent of chlorine and night-blooming jasmine.
Keifer, his jacket slung over one shoulder, felt Jay's hand slip into his. Her dress shimmered under the soft glow of the poolside lanterns.
Aries, his arm a possessive band around Ella's waist, guided her to a cushioned lounger.
Freya, her fiery brown hair a stark contrast to Edrix's calm demeanor, leaned into him .
Mica, usually reserved, found her hand firmly clasped in Calix's, his thumb brushing her knuckles.
Ci-n , always the instigator, nudged Rakki with his elbow, a mischievous glint in his eye.
Drew cannonballed into the pool, water erupting in a joyous explosion.
Denzel, Yuri, Eman, Eren, Josh, Kit, Mayo, Blaster, and Felix all followed suit, turning the serene blue into a churning chaos.
The cool water offered a welcome relief from the night's heat.
"Alright, you landlubbers!" Ci-n's voice boomed, pulling a half-empty bottle of tequila from a discreet bag. "Who's ready for some real fun?"
David , still dripping, emerged from the pool, a towel wrapped around his waist. "Truth or Dare, then?" A collective cheer rose, punctuated by the clinking of plastic cups.
Keifer settled onto a chaise lounge, pulling Jay down beside him. "You sure about this, wifey?" he murmured, his lips brushing her ear.
Jay's eyes sparkled. "It's prom night, Keif. We're allowed a little recklessness." She squeezed his hand.
Ci-n spun the empty tequila bottle on the mosaic tiles. It wobbled, then pointed its neck directly at Eman. Eman, a nervous grin on his face, pushed his wet hair back.
"Truth or Dare, Eman?" Ci-n's grin widened.
"Truth," Eman mumbled, eyeing the bottle with suspicion.
Ci-n leaned forward. "What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done to impress someone?"
Eman's face flushed. He glanced around, then sighed. "I… I once tried to serenade a girl outside her window. With a ukulele. In the rain." He shuddered. "She called the police."
A ripple of laughter swept through the group. Ella clapped her hands, her eyes wide with amusement. Aries kissed her temple, a silent acknowledgement of her joy.
Next, the bottle spun, landing on Felix. "Dare," Felix declared, before Ci-n could even ask.
"Alright, Felix the Fearless," Ci-n said, a glint in his eye. "I dare you to… trade clothes with David for the next three rounds."
David, a hulking figure, looked down at his swim trunks. Felix, slender and agile, stared at David's oversized t-shirt and shorts with a mixture of horror and amusement. The two exchanged a look of pure dread, then slowly began to strip, eliciting hoots and whistles.
The game continued, dares growing bolder, truths more revealing. Drew confessed to a secret crush on a teacher, Josh admitted to cheating on a pop quiz in freshman year. The atmosphere lightened with each revelation, inhibitions melting away.
The bottle spun again, slowing, then settling on Ella. Her cheeks were already rosy from the tequila and the laughter.
"Truth or Dare, Ella?" Ci-n asked, his voice a low purr.
Ella hesitated, glancing at Aries, who squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Dare," she decided, her voice a little breathy.
Ci-n's eyes narrowed playfully. "I dare you to… kiss Aries. Not just a peck. A proper, movie-style kiss. For at least thirty seconds. And make it count."
Aries's eyes met Ella's, a silent question passing between them. Ella's gaze held a spark of challenge, a flicker of excitement. She turned to Aries, her hands finding his shoulders. The group hushed, watching. Ella's fingers threaded into his hair, pulling him closer. Her lips found his, soft at first, then deepening, a slow burn that promised more. Aries responded instantly, his arms wrapping around her, lifting her slightly from the lounger. Thirty seconds stretched into an eternity, the world outside their embrace fading into a blur. When they finally broke apart, Ella's lips were swollen, a flush spreading across her décolletage. Aries's eyes were dark, his breathing ragged.
"Alright, alright, break it up, you two lovebirds," Rory chuckled, though a few other couples looked at each other with newfound interest. "Some of us are still single."
The bottle spun once more, landing on Freya. Edrix, his arm still around her, gave her a gentle squeeze.
"Truth or Dare, Freya?" Rakki asked, taking over the role of questioner.
Freya's brown hair cascaded over her shoulder as she tilted her head. "Dare."
Rakki considered, then a sly smile touched her lips. "I dare you to… give Edrix a lap dance. Right here. Right now."
A collective gasp went through the group. Freya's eyes widened, then a mischievous glint appeared. Edrix, usually composed, stiffened, a faint blush creeping up his neck.
Freya stood up. She straddled Edrix's lap, her hands finding his shoulders. The music, a soft pop tune from someone's phone, seemed to take on a new rhythm. She moved slowly, her eyes locked with Edrix's. Edrix's hands, initially hesitant, found their way to her waist, holding her close, his gaze fixed on hers, a silent conversation passing between them. When she finally leaned back, a soft breath escaping her lips. Edrix's eyes were dark with unspoken desire.
"Wow," Mayo breathed, shattering the silence. "Just… wow."
The bottle spun again, landing on Mica. Calix, beside her, gave her an encouraging nod.
"Truth or Dare, Mica?" Denzel asked.
Mica, her cheeks a delicate pink, looked at Calix. "Truth."
Denzel's eyes twinkled. "What's the most adventurous place you and Calix have… been intimate?"
Mica's blush deepened, but a small smile played on her lips. She glanced at Calix, who returned her gaze with a knowing smirk. "The… the library stacks," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "After closing. We almost got caught by the night librarian."
Calix chuckled, pulling her closer. "Worth it."
The bottle spun, landing on Keifer. Jay's hand tightened in his.
"Truth or Dare, Keifer?" Eren asked, his voice laced with anticipation.
Keifer met Jay's gaze, a silent question passing between them. She nodded, her eyes full of trust and a hint of daring. "Dare," he stated, his voice calm.
Eren's eyes lit up. "I dare you to… blindfold Jay, and describe her with only your sense of touch. For five minutes."
Jay's eyes widened, a flicker of surprise, then amusement. Keifer's lips curved into a slow smile. He pulled a silk scarf from his pocket. He gently tied it around Jay's eyes, her eyelashes brushing his fingers.
"Ready, baby?" he murmured, his voice a low rumble.
Jay nodded, a slight tremor in her hands.
Keifer's hands moved, slow and deliberate. His fingertips traced the curve of her jawline, the softness of her skin. He felt the subtle pulse at her throat, a testament to her beating heart. His fingers brushed against the curve of her collarbone, then moved to the smooth expanse of her shoulder, feeling the gentle rise and fall of her breath. He noted the pattern of her dress, the cool silk against his palm. He moved to her hair, feeling the silken strands, the slight wave near her ear. He traced the line of her arm, the subtle strength of her muscles, then the delicate bones of her wrist.
"You are… a tapestry of quiet strength," he began, his voice soft, almost a whisper. "Your skin holds the warmth of a summer afternoon, smooth as polished river stone. Your hair, feels like spun moonlight. I feel the pulse of your life beneath my fingertips, a steady rhythm that anchors my own. Every curve, every line, a familiar landscape I could navigate in absolute darkness. You are… home."
Jay's breath hitched. A tear escaped from beneath the blindfold, tracing a path down her cheek. The air around them seemed to thicken. The others watched, silent, captivated by the raw emotion unfolding before them.
When Keifer finally untied the blindfold, Jay's eyes, glistening, met his. She said nothing, but her lips curved into a soft smile, a silent promise.
The game continued, but a shift had occurred. The lighthearted fun now carried an undercurrent of deeper connection. The dares were still bold, but the truths revealed a vulnerability that drew them closer.
The bottle spun one last time, landing on Yuri
"Truth or Dare, Yuri?" Kit asked, a playful glint in his eye.
Yuri, puffed out his chest. "Dare! Always dare!"
Kit grinned. "I dare you to… confess your deepest, most irrational fear."
Yuri's bravado faltered. He looked around, then sighed, running a hand through his wet red hair. "Fine," he mumbled, his voice softer than anyone had heard it all night. "I'm terrified of… rubber ducks. Don't ask why. They just… stare. With those dead eyes."
A ripple of stunned silence, then a burst of uncontrollable laughter erupted. Yuri, embarrassed but relieved, joined in, his booming laugh filling the night. The prom might have ended, but the night, filled with laughter, love, and a few unexpected truths, was just beginning.
Jay's POV
Prom was over.
The music had stopped. The lights had dimmed. The magic that had wrapped around the night like a dream was slowly slipping away.
But Keifer's hand was still holding mine.
And that was the only thing that mattered.
I stood beside him outside the venue, the cool air brushing against my skin. My heels hurt, my body was tired, but my heart was still racing—from everything. From the dancing. From the laughter. From truth and dare . From him.
Mostly from him.
His fingers were intertwined with mine, strong and warm, like he was reminding me without words that I was his.
And he was mine.
Around us, everyone was beginning to leave.
Ella stood beside Aries. He wasn't smiling much, but his eyes stayed on her constantly, sharp and protective. When he opened the car door for her, she looked up at him with that quiet trust only she had with him.
"I'll text when we reach," she said softly.
Aries nodded. "You will."
Not asking.
Making sure.
I smiled faintly at them.
They understood each other without saying much.
Nearby, Mica was laughing quietly as Calix helped her into his car, his hand hovering near her waist protectively.
Rakki and Cin were arguing over something small, but their fingers were still linked together.
Freya leaned against Edrix, half asleep already, and he didn't seem to mind carrying her emotional weight and physical tiredness both.
Everyone had someone.
And I did too.
Keifer.
I felt his thumb brushing slowly over my knuckles.
I looked up at him.
He was already looking at me.
His eyes softened instantly when they met mine.
"You tired?" he asked quietly.
I nodded a little.
He didn't say anything else. He just lifted my hand slightly and pressed a soft kiss against my knuckles.
My heart melted.
Even after marriage.
Even after everything.
He still treated me like I was the most precious thing in his world.
He walked me to the passenger side of his car and opened the door for me. His movements were gentle, careful, like he was handling something fragile.
Like he was afraid I might disappear if he wasn't careful enough.
I got inside, holding my dress as I settled into the seat.
He closed the door softly, then walked around and got into the driver's seat.
The moment he sat down, his hand found mine again.
Instinctively.
Naturally.
Like breathing.
He started the car, and we began driving home.
The silence wasn't empty.
It was peaceful.
Comfortable.
I watched the streetlights pass by, their glow flickering across his face. His jaw was slightly tense, his eyes focused, always alert.
Always protecting.
Even now.
Especially now.
Because of Kaizer.
Because of everything.
I tightened my hold on his hand.
He noticed instantly.
He always did.
His fingers tightened around mine in response, reassuring me without needing words.
"I'm here," he said softly.
Three simple words.
But they meant everything.
I leaned my head gently against his shoulder, careful not to disturb his driving too much. He didn't move away.
He never did.
Instead, he kissed the top of my head briefly.
"I love you," he whispered.
My chest tightened.
"I love you too," I whispered back.
And in that moment, with his hand holding mine, his presence surrounding me, and his love protecting me…
I wasn't afraid of anything.
Because Keifer wasn't just the boy I loved.
He was my husband.
My protector.
My safe place.
My home.
