I stepped forward, but what I landed on was the air itself.
Air walk.
It was a skill that was used mostly by knights when they needed to fight opponents who could fly, but it required a lot of practice and a high rank in mana cultivation.
I could hear the gasps in everyone's voice. Their chatter suddenly halted; even the ones who still thought I wasn't much stopped their nonsense.
I did not care about anything at the moment and continued to climb higher.
I only stopped after I reached almost 40 metres in height, where my position was similar to that of my parents.
Not before, but now, I can see it clearly. The surprise on Eleanor's face and the shock on Drever's face.
"I will give you only one chance, surrender. If not, don't blame your brother for being merciless."
I raised my hand in the air, taking the stance as if I was about to cast another spell here.
I was expecting her to admit defeat now, but no...
She exhaled deeply and looked straight at me.
"I can't believe you can use so many elements, brother. I never knew you had practised so many spells too and reached such a mystery, but don't mistake one thing, I am not weak either."
So fierce? For what? It's definitely not for the throne. Then what? For Rose? Was their relation that deep?
She tightened her grip on her sword. With her determination, the flame inside her burned more furiously, and so did her sword.
Clad in a deep red aura, her sword was set in blaze, fire burning ferociously as it illuminated the entire arena even in the daylight.
She took her steps forward, but the gravitation spell seemed to have no effect on her at all.
She stomped her foot on the ground and jumped, her sword came straight at me.
"Such anger and determination. Alas, it will all he for nothing."
Using fancy spells to overpower her won't work anymore. I can use some attacking spells, but with my current capacity, nothing will work on her.
I really need to train soon.
Sigh, then there is only one thing remaining.
System, I would like to use my Author's halo.
[Access granted. Do note it, host. Its use has a cost.]
I know. I am not going to use it to change reality or anything, I am just going to aura farm.
After this battle, I will gain more story points anyway.
[Your aspect 'Author's halo' is activated.]
When the system rang that notification in my head, everything around me seemed to have slowed down.
I looked around me, and everyone was frozen in their place, but in truth, they had only been slowed to the point of making it feel like time had stopped.
I looked at myself, covered with an unfamiliar white light, and yet, it felt comforting.
Slowly, it was becoming visible to me that my body was connected to everyone here with strings. Each holding a different colour. Most of them were white, and some were grey, and my sister... she had a red one.
So each string identifies what role everyone has in the story.
What will happen if I just cut a string here? Will they die?
I asked the question, but I heard nothing. I was expecting an answer from the system, but is it even affected?
Hmm? Why does it all suddenly feel blurry? It hasn't even been a few seconds, and I'm already running out of my story points.
Guess, I will explore it later when I have more story points. For now...
I looked at the marching figure of my sister at me, and her sword that had seemingly stopped right before me.
I prodded my hand towards the sword, flicking it lightly with my fingers. I didn't use much force there, and yet, it was shattered into pieces.
If this works, then... it will too, right?
I raised my hand in the air once again and pulled it down. A giant hand, made out of pure mana descended upon Noelle, sending her body to the ground.
[You have used up all the story points.]
[Used time of Author's halo: 0.01 second.]
I ignored the message from the system for now and looked down at Noelle, whose body was slammed on the arena, lying motionless in the middle of a giant handprint.
Did she lose her consciousness?
I walked back down from the air and went near her, scanning her unconscious body.
"Such a fool."
I shook my head and mumbled, that line wasn't for Noelle, but it was for me. I did not think thoroughly about the power of the Author's halo.
That palm attack could have killed her.
But it's a good thing that she was alive.
"I don't think she can get up anymore."
Finally, I spoke again, breaking the silence in the arena. Just a moment ago, they were all hooting for Noelle and now... eerily silent.
"Does this mean, I won?"
I tilted my head to look in the direction of Drever. I can clearly see his temples furrowing hysterically.
"Or maybe you're still in denial that your precious daughter lost to your rascal son?"
Drever clenched his fist, his hands almost broke the armrest of his chair from anger.
"How did you do it?"
And finally, he also spoke, unlike my taunting tone, his was cold and rough.
"Hmm? Are you losing your sight too, father?"
"How did you use so many elements?!! You aren't born with them."
So that's his concern? Well, it was expected. I don't plan to hide anything to begin with. I wish to exert sheer dominance on everyone, so the more I show how capable and powerful I am, the better it is for me.
"Did I not mention that already? I am above everyone. No one comes close to me at all. And about me using different elements... I was always born with them. Just because I never showed them, doesn't mean i never had them."
