Chapter 20 - Luna, the maid lover

The moment Qin Wei saw her face, at once, years' worth of memories flashed through his mind.

And in the next moment, his surprise turned into mischief, and his lips curled into a faint smirk. "Oh, my Luna, you're a mage, not an assassin. Stealth isn't your strength."

Luna glared at him with her cheeks flushed from exertion. "I should have killed you," she hissed, trying to get free.

As if guided by old habit rather than intention, his hand suddenly traced along her side, pausing against the curve of her breast. Her breath hitched, involuntarily, and a small, surprised sound escaped her lips as he groped it.

"Ah~"

Qin Wei suddenly blinked and paused, suddenly aware of what his hand had just done out of habit. "Sorry," he muttered as he retracted his hand in surprise and panic, "that wasn't…"

Luna's face had turned scarlet as she looked away.

Instead of getting angry, she muttered softly, "You lied to me that after your marriage, you would bring me to your side. But you are happily married and enjoying your life with your wife and new maids and I..."

Before he realized, Qin Wei's body once again just automatically leaned forward on its own and silenced her with a kiss. For a heartbeat, she didn't resist.

Then she pushed him away while breathing heavily. "Get away from me."

Qin Wei exhaled as he gently let go, but she then rolled over and shifted on top of him. Luna's breath was warm against his chest as she gripped his robe tightly. "I have yet to forgive you… Don't think that I will let you do whatever to my body, like in the past…"

Meanwhile, his face froze once again. "What the hell did I just do? This body has too much attraction to this girl. I couldn't just stop myself. Ugh… All these naughty things coming to my head, and my fingers are itching to…"

Qin Wei found himself unable to move away. He wanted to push her away, but his hands continued to hold her slim waist, refusing to leave.

"Hush…" he could only whisper in the end instead of fighting his instincts, pulling her into his embrace and cradling the back of her head, "they'll hear us. Don't shout."

Luna's brows furrowed slightly, but she didn't move either. She continued to stay in that position, letting him hold her, letting her lean to his chest; their faces were just a few inches away from each other.

Qin Wei then looked at her apologetically, quickly trying to think of an excuse. "I'm sorry, but you know what happened to my family. I almost died on the way, too. I thought it would be better for you to stay back with your master than follow me to this place, where I'm literally a caged bird with no sense of freedom and a high degree of life threat. How could I let you come back?"

She bit her lip and answered. "But you still have me. I'm not weak either. As a rank-7, I possessed enough strength to protect you from any assassination attempt. I thought you..." Tears almost filled her eyes as she finished those painful words in her heart. "I thought you abandoned me."

Qin Wei softened at her words. Sighing inwardly, he reached up, cupping her cheek gently with his palm. "Sorry, and thanks for coming to my side. I'm happy to see you, Luna. Really."

She blinked at him. "Master Icarus…"

Her eyes, filled with a mix of confusion and emotion, looked at his eyes as she asked, suddenly changing the mood. "By the way, I want to ask you something. What's with these strange eyes?"

"Uhhh…" Qin Wei hesitated for a moment. But then said quietly. "I kinda awakened them recently."

Her brow furrowed as her fingers absentmindedly traced the edge of his cheek. "Did something happen to you… After you were attacked?"

Qin Wei gave a helpless smile as he answered. "Everything just ended well. That's what matters. See… not only did I escape with my life, I even managed to awaken powers. I'm no longer the trash that world remembered."

Luna was stunned for a breath, blinking twice. Then, to his surprise, her lips curled into a pleasant smile. She cupped his cheeks with both hands and leaned down suddenly.

"That's great," she whispered. "Luna is happy for Master."

Before he could react, she kissed him on the lips.

Qin Wei froze again.

Earlier, he kissed her, but it happened on its own; this time, he was aware when he was being kissed, and his mind was in full control of his body.

But he didn't move his head.

Or rather, he didn't want to move his head.

Maybe it's because Icarus regularly used to sex, or maybe it's because Qin Wei only tasted sex once after transmigrating into this world. Regardless of the reasons, he just let it happen.

But then, almost instantly, memories surged once again as something clicked inside his head. Of all the maids that Icarus regularly slept with, only Luna seemed to be allowed to kiss him on her own terms.

He blinked up at her as she pulled away with her cheeks faintly flushed, and her eyes seemed bright now.

She was twenty now. Only a year older than him, but they were together for years, since childhood.

Their typical master-servant bond had shifted five years ago when he was only 14 and she was 15.

Then, Luna, who was only his personal maid, had almost died while protecting him from an assassination, and confessed her feelings, thinking she was going to die. And that resulted in both of them losing their virginity to one another. Ever since then, she has also become his sexual partner and, to some extent, a secret lover.

Perhaps, the taste of sex at a tender age, even to this world's standards, actually became one of the reasons that the original turned into a bit of a lecherous character.

As a transmigrator, Qin Wei could see from a neutral perspective, and in his eyes, she could be a contributor to Icarus' addiction to sex, but at the same time, he could see that her feelings toward him were pure, too.

But when Lord of House Phoenix found out about their secret relationship a year ago, he sent her away to Blossom Tower, an all-female member organization, in the name of nurturing her into a battle maid for the House. In Qin Wei's perspective, this is also the main reason why Icarus was sent to Ashenford for the marriage at the age of 19, instead of 21.

Meanwhile, Luna trained hard in the Tower, hoping to return to her beloved Master's side. Qin Wei didn't know how much hard work she put in, but in just 14 months of their separation, where they only contacted each other through letters, Luna grew from a Rank-3 sorcerer to a Rank-7 Elite.

Qin Wei didn't expect her growth to be this fast. He couldn't help but become happier on learning that her devotion toward him still hasn't changed. There's a woman who likes him so much, she is strong, and she doesn't treat him coldly even after the separation... who wouldn't feel happy?

He couldn't help but compare her and his wife, who acted all like someone in love on their wedding night, and then in the letter she wrote, but now treated him coldly right on day 1 of their married life at Moonvilla.

Right then, something else clicked in his head, and he immediately glanced toward the door and asked in a low voice, "How did you get in here unnoticed when a rank-8 like Vanessa is around. She should've sensed you."

Luna grinned mischievously and lifted the pendant hanging beneath her collar. It shimmered with faint, silvery light.

"Thanks to my ancestral token," she said proudly, "While it's active, no one beneath a grandmaster can sense my presence. Not even a soul cultivator."

Qin Wei raised an eyebrow, impressed by its properties. "You really do have a bunch of ancestral tokens. I really wonder who your ancestors were."

She tilted her head, her smile faltering just slightly. "I know. But…" Her voice softened. "I don't remember where they came from. Or my past before I entered Master's household at the age of 6. Everything before that is just… blank. And the artifacts with me had all different origins. Who knows, they could be powerful people or just some thieves. Not that I care anymore…" She cupped his cheeks once again and whispered. "All that matters is I'm staying beside Master. And I'm now something that Master cannot throw away."

He smiled faintly, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer again. "Don't sell yourself short, Luna. Even if I'm married, you are always going to be special to me."

"O' Master Icarus…" Luna proceeded to kiss him again. Heat started rising in Qin Wei's body.
