*somewhere in Africa*
*Pov: General*
Far in the distance, in a city still trying to rebuild itself, the ruins of an old temple could be seen, once dedicated to "Evil Mother", now just a shattered carcass left behind after the Revolution.
Inside those ruins stood three figures scattered across the broken hall, a pale-skinned woman standing tall, a Black man kneeling respectfully, and a humanoid black panther (Translator: … Seriously? You made a furry, writer? 😶)
These three were Bast, Emily, and a young Nick Fury, who kept his eyes on the ground with a humility so intense it almost looked painful, he looked nothing like the man he'd someday become (Translator: Okay, thank god, it wasn't Fury, I was about to panic, idiot 😑)
"Do you understand the risk behind your request? Humans are not like us"
Emily said, her expression full of the kind of concern a mother feels when she learns her child is running off to war.
"I understand perfectly, "Mother", more than you think"
Fury answered.
"But because I know how white humans can be… I can't ignore the danger they'll face"
He remained kneeling, but his voice held the conviction of someone who had seen his death and chose to walk toward it anyway.
Emily sighed, defeated, resigned, and yet a small smile broke through.
"Well, small one… if you're really determined to save them, I won't stop you, you've proven yourself more than once"
She exhaled again, and this time said with a voice full of warm and love
"Fine, you have my permission to create your secret organization"
Fury couldn't hide his happiness, a rare smile crossed his face.
"Thank you, "Mother", I will not bring dishonor to your will, nor fail under your gaze"
He tried to kiss her hand, but she dodged immediately, in his place, she put a hand in his head
"Just remember our rules… and for the love of everything that exists, survive"
"I will!"
He ran off, ready to leave the lands he'd always called home.
Once he was out of sight, with no one else around, Bast finally spoke.
"Are you sure it was a good idea to send one of your "children" to the rest of the humans?"
"…I don't know"
Emily said, staring at the ruins, remembering the prosperity this place once had before it became the nightmare she and her family were forced to endure.
"But I do know this, no matter what happens, I will always protect my family"
Bast sighed, still worried, but she changed the topic.
"You know… you really shouldn't have told your children about the other alien races or the other "gods" That puts everything you built at risk"
Emily merely smiled.
"I know what you fear, dear, don't worry, I trust my children won't fall for lies and temptations again"
Bast looked around, uneasy
"…Right."
Trying to lighten the mood, Emily asked
"How's the gestation of your child?"
Bast brightened a little, getting the intention of Emily
"It's going well, thanks to your help, he'll be born with a real physical body, with no dependence on faith like me"
Emily lit up like a grandmother being told she's getting another grandkid.
"Don't worry, Bast, we'll raise him together, he'll be a worthy god"
Bast laughed.
"We? Raise him? I'll be lucky if he even spends a single day with me, or if he even considers me his mother"
Emily burst into laughter as well.
The two laughed together until Bast, calmer now, said
"…Thank you, for still considering me your friend, even though you're more powerful than I am now"
Emily placed a hand on her shoulder, and said in a deep, peaceful voice
"Family comes first" (Translator: She really gives off Vin Diesel energy. 🚬)
Their friendship, once cracking at the edges, strengthened again, and this time more profound that nobody knows
*Back to Nick Fury*
Three days later, Fury stood at Africa's border as an officer questioned him.
"Are you sure you want to leave? The lands of the white humans are extremely dangerous"
"Yes, I'm sure"
"…Why?"
The officer was genuinely confused, In his mind, they had everything they needed here.
"Simple, white civilians have no one protecting them from the threats of the universe"
"There are secret organizations over there doing exactly that, ¿you know?"
"I know perfectly well"
The officer blinked, more confused now
"…Then why go?"
This time, Fury answered with the conviction of someone who had see the light
"Because none of them are led by one of our own" (Translator: …Okay THAT sounded kinda racist 🤨)
With that, Fury boarded the ship that would take him to his new life.
He took one last look at the continent he called home since his birth, and said in a low voice
"I won't fail you, Mother, trust me"
And right then, the nearly shattered wheels of destiny began to turn again.
Somewhere in the United States, a young pilot named Carol Danvers had just graduated from her air academy and started considering where to work
Elsewhere, a university student named Phil Coulson, who's a rabid fan of "Sword of Justice", was suddenly demonstrating surprising academic prowess.
And in yet another corner of the world, a Skrull researcher was developing technology that might finally give her people an edge over the remnants of the Kree Empire.
None of them knew it yet, but they were all destined to meet, assuming the protagonist allowed it.
Now let's give you a context Time, because the writer is holding a gun to my head and I don't want to die (Translator: Finally, some context in this broken story 🙃)
After the African Revolution, the original "Mother" religion was rebranded as "Evil Mother," blamed for the deaths of thousands.
Yeah, apparently no one involved in that renaming process tried very hard... Anyway
Because Emily was a Sequence 4, she recreated the entire population who died, repopulating Africa once again .
Meaning… nothing changed at all.... So why the hell was there a revolution??
Among those created was Nick Fury, who adored Emily with fanatical devotion and hated "Evil Mother" as much as everyone else in that continent
Which again raises the question, What was the point of all the deaths??
Writer: I don't know. I'm not the protagonist (╹▽╹).
…But didn't you write this and make him?
Writer: Me? I just picked a soul that matched the requirements, I didn't create anybody nor did I care who I picked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
…Okay.... I understand.... WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO???
*General POV begins collapsing out of existence*
Writer: Don't yell at me, I'm not your servant. (⌐■-■)
*Created a new one, making him forget the last discussion*
Writer: Better
Anyway… not my problem, I'm not the dead, nor did I care about what the protagonist do, so yeah, that's it
Something surprisingly is that none of the major cosmic beings seem to have noticed how fractured this universe is compared to the main one, not even the anti monitor, or The One Above All
But hey, when you're omnipotent, you tend to ignore things as insignificant as these people.... I think
Let's only hope they won't regret it later, but of course, they will.
Now... Let's see what's going on with the rest of the universe...
Mmmmmm, surprisingly, the protagonist allowed the Fate of the universe to flow normally.
Why do I say that? Simple, because the planet Zen-Whoberi is, at this very moment, under attack by Thanos star fleet.
Yep, The Mad Titan, obsessed with the cosmic embodiment of "Death", has finally arrived at the world where he was meant to find his daughter.
The problem? This universe contains the massive variable known as the protagonist, and whether Fate likes it or not, that destiny has changed.
So yes, what was supposed to become a massacre in the original timeline has now turned into a defensive war.
On one side we have Thanos fleet attacking from orbit.
On the other, the Twilight-led planet, which still didn't have any spacecraft.
So why do I call it a defensive battle? Simple, what they lack in interstellar offense, they make up for in interstellar defense.
Twilight, not being an idiot, and working with his scientists, created a planetary defense system on the level of Xandar's.
Sure, it can't shield the planet from space, but it can protect the entire world from the lower atmosphere.
"Sir!"
shouted one of the commanders leading the plasma-cannon assault on the shield.
"We've received reports from all the other ships! The shield covers the entire planet at once and shows no signs of energy loss!"
"Damn it!"
the superior barked.
"No choice but to tell Lord Thanos, you, send him the report, tell him we await further orders"
"Understood!"
said the soldier, starting the transmission.
Moments later Thanos appeared, followed by Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf, Supergiant, and Black Swan aboard his personal ship, the fastest of them all.
Yes, all his followers were still alive, another major change caused by the protagonist.
"My lord"
saluted the superior as a hologram of Thanos appeared.
"I am already aware of the situation"
Thanos said, cutting him off before he could speak.
"It is time to—"
But before the Mad Titan could finish, a voice echoed across the entire world
"TIME IS UP"
A platform shot upward to the edge of the shield, and once it breached the barrier, what appeared before everyone was… a giant.
A giant three and a half meters tall, with no weapons or armor, just simple cloth garments.
"Did they come to surrender?"
someone whispered on the ship, though somehow everyone heard it.
"Activate external communications"
Thanos ordered, curious about why this giant had appeared.
"Who are you?"
asked the 3D hologram of Thanos, projected a few meters away from Twilight.
"My name doesn't matter"
Twilight replied, his voice filled with conviction and pride but devoid of arrogance.
"For I possess a title far more valuable, bestowed by my master and earned through my actions"
"Then what is your title?"
Thanos asked, a bit impatient but still willing to indulge the giant.
"I am the Twilight Giant, leader of the Eternal Paladins, King of Zen-Whoberi, and destined for the Final Sacrifice in service of the Realm of Eternal Rest"
The moment Thanos heard the full title, he ignored everything except the phrase "King of Zen-Whoberi"
And assuming they had come to pledge allegiance, he said
"If you plan to join me, first deactivate your shields, then allow me to purge half the life on your planet.
Once you do, I will accept you into my ranks"
The atmosphere around Twilight instantly changed.
If it had been calm and serene before, now it was a hurricane of compressed rage.
Even Thanos felt it, something that surprised him, since in his arrogance he did not believe anyone in the universe existed who didn't fear him or his might.
... Except Gol D Roger
"…So that's why you attacked us, isn't it?
To kill my subjects?"
Twilight walked slowly toward the hologram, and before Thanos could say a single word, he continued
"In that case… consider yourselves doomed"
At that moment, an indescribable terror surged through Thanos.
His entire body screamed at him to run, and he obeyed before realizing it, sprinting out of pure instinct.
His soldiers stared at him in confusion, until they heard him roar
"ALL SHIPS, IMMEDIATE RETREAT! NOW!"
The fastest vessels escaped the planet.
The slower ones… and those too dumb to process the command quickly… well, here's what happened
"Dawn Creation"
Twilight spoke softly, yet somehow everyone heard it, and sphere of light condensed in his hand, forming a sword.
Ironically, it was the last thing many ever saw.
"Hurricane of Light"
And with that, not even remnants remained of the ships that failed to escape in time.
Those that did escape weren't safe either, the aftershock wiped out hundreds more, though at least they left behind some debris.
"GET OFF MY PLANET!"
Twilight roared, and for the surviving ships, and Thanos himself, it was a nightmare to hear that voice echo in the vacuum of space and reach their fleet.
Some even believed it traveled farther.
"…Another god"
Thanos finally muttered once the remaining ships were far outside the system.
"…Another god stands in my way"
His voice grew louder, and his followers silently slipped out of the command room.
"ANOTHER DAMN GOD STANDS IN MY WAY!
MY way!
Of all the beings in the universe, WHY IS IT ALWAYS GODS WHO BLOCK MY GRAND PURPOSE!?
WHY WON'T THEY LET ME COMPLETE MY SACRED MISSION!?
WHY!?"
After shouting himself empty, he caught his breath… then whispered, heartbreakingly soft
"…Why won't they let me earn her love…" (Translator: …Bro, I get the feeling 🫂)
And so the day ended, a day of losses, victories, loyalty, doubts, and above all…
The day the remnants of destiny finally shattered.
(Writer: You're not going to help me compress all that text again? 🥺
Translator: You haven't paid me anything… so no, and if you don't pay me within three chapters, I'm leaving 😑)
