Her request was unexpected.
Ethan sat on the edge of the bed, unsure what was coming.
Clara crossed the room and stopped in front of him. She held his gaze, and there was a moment of silence.
"I'm so sorry for the way I've been acting," she began, her voice wavering. "There are things I'm trying to forget... things I wish I could forget. Our wedding has brought about too many memories. Unpleasant memories."
"I'm so sorry for putting you in that position. I don't regret our marriage. Not one bit, but I'm sad it's been hard for you. Soon, everything will make sense." Ethan said.
"What are you trying to say, Ethan?" She wondered what he was talking about.
"It's nothing, really." Ethan didn't want to say too much.
"I've thought about it, and I think I'll start therapy tomorrow. I actually started in college but dropped it. I'm going to resume. I've found a good therapist across town"
She gave a small, almost apologetic smile.
"Thank you for putting up with me, but I promise I'll get my act together starting tomorrow. You can go back to work. I'll be fine."
Ethan shook his head.
"Let me take you to therapy and bring you back home. We can do something fun after your session."
