Chapter 70: The Two Dragons Arrive
The smoke from the battle had not yet cleared.
Doflamingo, surrounded by the ruins, stared in bloodshot horror at the scene. Trebol, Pica, Diamante, Lao G, Senor Pink... His proud "Family," defeated in a single instant by Roy's six-punch combo, without even a chance to fight back.
He was a clown, left all alone on the stage.
"Fuf... fufufu..." His body trembled, his laugh forced, but it had lost its usual arrogance. It was hollow, maniacal, and desperate.
"Roy... you... you monster!!!"
He roared, his Conqueror's Haki exploding in a final, desperate burst! "Do you think this is over?! I am Donquixote Doflamingo!! I am a Warlord of the Sea! The Joker of the Underworld!!!"
He leaped, his hands crossed. "Thousand Arrows Piercing Heart: String Barrage!!" A storm of razor-sharp strings shot at Roy!
Smack!
Roy just... slapped the attack.
The entire string storm disintegrated, and Doflamingo himself was slapped back to the ground!
"BOOM!" The dock exploded in a crater of smoke and blood!
Doflamingo roared again, springing up. "Ten Holy Bullets: God-Thread!!"
Ten string-bullets, coated in Haki, shot at Roy!
Roy just lifted his boot... and stomped.
KRAK!
The ground shattered, and all ten bullets disintegrated into dust!
Doflamingo was terrified. "NO!! IMPOSSIBLE... I still have... BIRDCAGE!!!!"
He roared, his strings shooting to the sky. But just as the cage began to form, Roy finally looked up.
"Enough."
BOOOOM!!!
An ocean of Conqueror's Haki erupted from Roy, a wave of pure power that slammed into the sky. The forming Birdcage shattered, the strings disintegrating into nothing!
Doflamingo was sent flying, his pink feather coat exploding into a cloud of stray feathers. He crashed into a deep crater, bloody, his glasses gone, his clothes in tatters... looking like a plucked flamingo.
"Fufu... fufu..." he wheezed, "You... you can't kill me... I am... a Celestial..."
THWACK!
Before he could finish the word "Dragon," Roy warped and chopped him precisely on the neck. Doflamingo's eyes rolled back, and he was out cold.
"Well," Gion (Momousagi) said, walking over, "you really did pluck him clean." She smiled, but her expression quickly turned serious. "That last word he tried to say... was it true?"
"Nine times out of ten," Roy said, his voice grim.
Gion's face paled. "Then this isn't just about a Warlord. This involves the World Government..."
FWOOSH! Roy vanished. A second later, he reappeared, holding two unconscious girls: a 14-year-old Baby-5 and the child, Sugar.
"They were hiding underground," Roy said, handing Sugar to the soldiers. "This one," he pointed to the child, "is the most dangerous of all. Full Seastone cuffs on her arms and legs. Do not let her wake up!"
"Sir!" the soldier said. Gion was about to ask why, but Roy suddenly looked up at the sky, his eyes narrowing. "They got here fast."
Gion froze, her hand instinctively going to her sword. "Tsk. It's just one troublemaker after another today."
Off the coast of Dressrosa
The sky ripped open. A storm appeared from nowhere, and a massive Azure Dragon descended, its scales like iron, its eyes burning with rage. Beside him, a Pteranodon, wreathed in black flames, dove from the clouds—it was the future All-Star, King.
"Lord Kaido," King's voice was cold, "Jack's presence... it's faint. He's on that island."
The dragon roared, a sound that shook the sea. "Marines!!! They dared to touch one of my crew?!"
But as they dove toward the port—FWOOSH!—the entire Marine warship vanished.
"What?!" King's eyes widened. "The ship... it's gone!"
"Marine tricks!!" Kaido roared.
King scanned the horizon. "Lord Kaido! There! Far to the east!"
"CHASE THEM!!!" The two dragons tore after the ship.
Roy stood on the stern, watching them. "They're coming."
Gion was beside him. "Your judgment was right. We couldn't fight them and Doflamingo on Dressrosa..."
FWOOSH! The ship vanished again, reappearing dozens of miles further away.
"He disappeared again!" King growled.
The Azure Dragon paused, its massive head turning. It sensed something—a sharp, powerful, and completely undisguised aura, flaring up on a nearby deserted island. It was a beacon. A challenge.
"Are they... luring me?" Kaido's voice rumbled.
Kaido let out a deep, rumbling laugh. "WORORORO! Interesting!"
"That Marine brat... is waiting *for me?!*"
"Lord Kaido," King said, "it could be a trap!"
"A trap?!" Kaido roared, "I am KAIDO! If it's a trap, I'LL SMASH IT TO PIECES!!!"
On a deserted island peak.
Roy stood alone, his coat snapping in the wind. Gion landed beside him, her sword already half-drawn.
Roy opened his eyes. "The ship is in a safe zone. Kaido is mine. You take King."
Gion paused, then smirked. "You don't mince words, do you? Afraid?"
Her hand tightened on the hilt. "Heh. I was hoping to try out a new move."
"BOOOOOOM!!!"
The sky tore open. Kaido, in his full dragon form, smashed into the island, shattering the mountain peak. King landed beside him, his black wings spread wide.
The dust cleared. Kaido now stood in his human form, his massive, seven-meter-tall frame radiating power, his giant spiked club, "Hassaikai," resting on his shoulder.
"Marine brat..." Kaido grinned, his fangs glinting. "You've got some serious guts... daring to lure me here!"
His Conqueror's Haki exploded, a wave of tyranny that seemed to crush the island itself!
FWOOSH!
Roy took one step forward. His own Conqueror's Haki erupted, a tidal wave of equal force.
The two powers clashed in mid-air!
"BOOOOOOM!!!!!"
The sky itself split apart. Black lightning tore through the clouds, and the sea was blasted back for miles.
King's eyes widened in shock. "This pressure... he's a mere Rear Admiral, and he's matching Lord Kaido?!"
Gion, too, was stunned. "This... is Roy's true power?"
In the eye of the storm, Roy slowly raised his hand and crooked his index finger in a 'come here' gesture.
"I didn't lure you, Kaido."
His voice was calm, cutting through the thunder.
"I fished for you."
Kaido's eyes exploded in rage. "ARROGANT BRAT!!!"
BOOM!!! He swung his club, and the entire island peak disintegrated. But in the chaos, Roy's figure stood unmoving, his white coat snapping, his own fist slowly clenching as he prepared to meet the Emperor.
