Chapter 71: Dragon War
"Brat... looks like you've got some fight in you!"
Kaido roared with laughter, his savage fangs flashing in the lightning. He raised his massive club, "Hassaikai," high, and it became wreathed in black-and-red Conqueror's Haki!
With a world-shattering roar, the Haki exploded, the air shaking, the ground cracking, and the entire island trembling like a leaf!
The clouds above were ripped apart!
"THUNDER BAGUA!!!"
BOOOOM—!!!!
The black, spiked club moved so fast it was just a blur, distorting the very space it passed through! This one attack was enough to level a mountain!
Opposite him, Roy's black hair whipped across his face, his eyes like lightning. The Armament Haki on his right arm crystallized, forming black, star-like patterns!
The Haki deep in his bones swirled like a galaxy. He drew his fist back.
"FIST BONE: STAR-SHATTER!"

RUMBLE-RUMBLE-RUMBLE! Heaven and earth exploded!
The two colossal forces of Haki collided in mid-air!
For an instant, time froze.
"KRA-KA-KOWM!!!!"
The rock within a thousand-meter radius of the two of them didn't just shatter—it vaporized, turning instantly to dust!
The ground collapsed into a massive crater, and the shockwave split the sea, opening a trench hundreds of feet deep! The island itself began to break apart!

Roy's figure blurred! A black-wreathed whip-kick slammed into Kaido's left side, the Haki snapping like a whip!
"WARP-STRIKE: FLASH!"

Kaido was sent flying, a trail of smoke and debris in his wake! He smashed through three separate rock mountains before he finally stopped. He spat out a mouthful of blood... and laughed.
"Teleportation? BWAHAHAHA—! This is getting interesting!!"
King, who had been about to attack, suddenly froze.
A golden slash of light, like a bolt of heavenly judgment, was aimed right at his face!
King's expression changed. He violently flapped his black wings, dodging at the last second. The golden slash missed him and carved a hundred-meter-long scar in the earth.
"Your opponent is me."
Gion (Momousagi) stepped out of the dust, her "Justice" coat flapping, her legendary blade, Konpira, aimed at King's throat.
King snorted, the black flames on his back roaring to life, distorting the air around him. "A woman... dares to stand in my way?"
Gion's eyes were cold. "You're not worthy of making me take a single step back."
"IMPERIAL FLAME!" King roared, unleashing a massive tornado of fire that sought to swallow her whole!
Gion's figure became a blur. She shot forward, her blade cutting straight through the inferno!
"HEAVENLY WING SLASH!!"
BOOM!!
The fire tornado was split clean in two! The shockwave of heat melted the surrounding mountainside!
King's eyes widened. He had not expected this. "This woman... is not to be underestimated."
But Gion gave him no time to recover!
"SORU: MOON SHADOW!!"
She vanished, reappearing in the air above him, her blade flashing like the moon!
"CLANG—!!"
King desperately blocked, his own flaming sword meeting Konpira in a shower of sparks! The two sword-wielders clashed, their battle of fire and steel moving further and further away from the main event.
Just as Kaido was laughing, about to rise from the rubble—
"FWOOSH!"
Roy warped again, appearing directly above him like a black meteor!
"FIST BONE: STAR-CLUSTER!"
BAM—BAM—BAM—BAM!!
Four Haki-coated punches struck Kaido from impossible angles, smashing into his chest, his shoulder, his ribs, and his jaw!
Each punch carried the force of a landslide, the final blow launching the King of the Beasts into the sky like a broken doll!

In mid-air, Kaido's roar shook the heavens as he instantly transformed into his massive, several-hundred-meter-long Azure Dragon form!
"BLAST BREATH!!"

Roy, however, didn't move. He just planted his feet and drew back his fist, black-and-red Haki swirling around it.

The punch itself was warped from his fist, teleporting instantly into the core of the Blast Breath, and then detonating! The Haki-shockwave met the dragon's fire head-on!
The sky itself seemed to split in two, creating a multi-kilometer vacuum as the two attacks annihilated each other!
"It's not over!!" Kaido roared, diving from the sky, his massive claws wreathed in Haki!
"DRAGON TWISTER: DESTRUCTIVE WIND!!"
A vortex of countless, invisible Haki-blades formed around his claws, creating a storm of death that sealed off every possible escape route!
But Roy didn't retreat. He charged into it.
"LIFE RETURN: LIBERATE!"
In an instant, his muscles swelled, his skin taking on a metallic sheen as his entire body hardened to a level beyond steel!
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Roy's body was a physical cannonball, shattering the Haki-infused wind blades on impact!
"WARP-STRIKE: HEAVEN-PIERCER!"
Roy vanished from inside the storm—
BAM!!!
—and reappeared directly underneath Kaido's massive dragon belly, his Haki-infused fist punching straight up!
"GUWAAAAH—!!!"
The dragon's massive body bent in the sky. The force of the blow was so great it blasted the thousand-ton beast up into the clouds, his scales cracking, a spray of blood raining down on the island!
"ROOOAR!!!"
Wounded, bleeding, his scales shattered, Kaido's rage only grew!
High above the clouds, he roared, his dragon form shrinking, his power compressing back into his human form!
"CONQUEROR OF THREE WORLDS: RAGNARAKU!!!"
KRA-KOOOM!!!
The sky exploded! Black-and-red lightning rained down as Kaido, now back in his man-beast form, held his club high. His Conqueror's Haki was no longer just an aura; it was a physical, black-and-red storm wrapped around the Hassaikai!
He dove from the heavens, a meteor of pure destruction, the very air collapsing in his wake!
The pressure on the island was so immense that the ground was already buckling, lava bursting from new fissures!
Roy stood in the center of the ruin, his black hair whipping, his coat snapping. The pressure was so strong it was grinding the rock at his feet into dust.
"Hooo..."
He took a single, deep breath, his feet sinking into the bedrock, his right fist pulling back, black lightning crackling around his knuckles. A cross-shaped star of pure, blinding Haki flared to life on his fist!
"FIST BONE: GALAXY IMPACT!!"
As Kaido descended with the power to end the world, Roy's fist shot up to meet him!
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
Heaven and Earth collided!
Time itself seemed to freeze—
A silent, blinding flash as the black-and-red hurricane met the white-gold star.
And then, total annihilation.
The shockwave expanded in a perfect sphere, tearing a ten-kilometer-wide hole in the clouds and vaporizing the ocean in a circle, exposing the boiling magma of the seabed!
The entire island didn't just break—it disintegrated!
"GUUUAAAAAH!!!"
Kaido roared, his Hassaikai vibrating so hard his hands exploded in a shower of blood!
Roy's muscles screamed, his feet driving ten meters deep into the bedrock, but his fist held!
The two massive forces of Conqueror's Haki clashed in mid-air, without touching, tearing space itself apart!
"BREAK!!!" Roy roared.

Roy's punch won. The shockwave broke Kaido's stance, blasting the Emperor backward. He flew for miles, smashing into the island's main mountain, which then collapsed on top of him!
The island, its core shattered, finally began to sink as lava and steam erupted from the sea.
In the distance, King and Gion both stopped, staring in pure shock.
"Kaido-san... was... blown away?!"
"Roy... he actually matched... Kaido...?!"
In the smoke and steam, Roy slowly stood up straight. Blood was dripping from his knuckles, turning to steam as it hit the hot rock.
From the distant rubble, Kaido began to crawl out, his body covered in blood, his horns cracked, but... he was laughing.
"WORORORO... How many years has it been...?"
He licked the blood from his lips, his laugh thunderous!
"A brat who can make me bleed! A fight... a real fight!!"
"KID, WHAT'S YOUR NAME?! I DON'T KILL NAMELESS FODDER!!"
Roy flicked his fist, his Haki flaring again, his voice cold. "Marine Rear Admiral. Roy."
"Roy?!" Kaido's eyes widened in recognition.
"So it was you... The Marine brat who clashed with Red-Hair in the East Blue!!"
The wind howled. The battle was far from over.
