Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: So This is a Shinobi?

Yōkō then looked up the mission records for the Black Gorilla Squadron.

The tasks still in progress included monitoring the Uzumaki Princess, investigating the Iwagakure spy network, and a few others Yōkō hadn't participated in.

He immediately saw a familiar name: Kyōi.

Kyōi's spy identity was indeed suspected by the Anbu. However, for the sake of this trap, suspected spies like Kyōi, who posed relatively minor harm, had been left alone and not purged.

In the investigation record concerning Kyōi, his own name was also mentioned.

The Leaf Monkey Squad had been responsible for monitoring Kyōi and discovered Yōkō appearing at Kyōi's shop. Leaf Monkey believed Fox's behavior was suspicious.

Black Gorilla, however, had written a comment below: Fox had suspected Kyōi's identity during a previous mission and might be continuing a covert investigation.

Later, Yōkō led Squadron Leader Black Gorilla to find a Kumo-nin spy in Kyōi's shop, and then followed that spy to recover the kidnapped Uzumaki Princess.

At the end of the investigation scroll was the Black Gorilla Squadron Leader's conclusion: Fox is not a problem, no need for suspicion. If Fox were really a spy, what target could be more valuable than the Uzumaki Princess?

So that was it. Through a series of coincidences and twists, the Anbu had actually done all this.

Yōkō summoned Purple Cat and sent her to Root to request personnel to replenish the Fox Squad and the Black Gorilla Squadron.

After Purple Cat went to Root to select new members, Yōkō left the Anbu base and headed for Kyōi's Tsurugetsu Izakaya.

The Tsurugetsu Izakaya had a "Closed" sign hanging today.

Yōkō thought to himself, this foolish woman with her ample chest and no brains, closing at a time like this – wasn't that just telling the Anbu she had a problem?

She was just lucky that the Black Gorilla Squadron was temporarily non-functional and the Leaf Monkey Squad was wiped out; otherwise, Kyōi would be in an Anbu interrogation room tonight.

"Open up!"

A woman's voice came from inside.

"Sorry! We're closed tonight!"

"It's me!"

Sounds of chairs and tables being moved came from inside.

The door opened, and Yōkō saw Kyōi, her clothes covered in wrinkles.

Her eyes held a desperate fear, like a frightened kitten.

"Closed is good. Tonight, you'll serve only me."

Yōkō walked inside on his own.

After closing the door, Kyōi hurried after Yōkō and asked cautiously, "What mission were you on these past few days? Why didn't you come find me?"

She thought to herself: Iwagakure suffered such a heavy blow at Ushiga Mountain, not far from Konoha. Everyone in Konoha Village is celebrating. Her life as a spy was probably over.

She was going to die.

Neither Konoha nor Iwagakure would have a place for her.

"Were you on the mission to attack the Iwa-nin at Ushiga Mountain?"

Hearing Kyōi's words, Yōkō turned around and looked down at her.

Kyōi showed a moment of initial panic, then stubbornly raised her head to meet Yōkō's gaze.

Yōkō inwardly sighed. It was a pity; Kyōi already had a death wish.

"Of course not. How could someone of my strength participate in a mission like that? Iwagakure lost 6 Elite Jonin, over 30 Jonin, and more than 300 Chūnin. It's truly heartening."

After Yōkō finished speaking, he saw Kyōi's chest heaving uncontrollably.

Her mouth quivered, already on the verge of collapse.

Yōkō said, "Get me a bottle of sake. No matter what happens tomorrow, we should enjoy tonight, don't you think?"

"No matter what happens tomorrow?" Kyōi swallowed with difficulty, finally saying, "Yes... no matter what happens tomorrow, that's a problem for tomorrow."

Kyōi pounced on him, pushing Yōkō down onto the sofa.

On the sofa, the table, the counter – every time Yōkō tried to take the lead, Kyōi would resist fiercely and end up on top.

Kyōi was like a madwoman, venting all her pressure.

Yōkō couldn't resist, and finally relaxed and enjoyed it.

Kyōi's waist was very firm, without a trace of excess fat, like a sculpture.

Yōkō suddenly remembered that during his previous prize draw, one option was Constitution: Giant Rock Body. Perhaps the training methods of Iwa-nin resulted in exceptionally firm bodies.

That was the village that would eventually produce a female Tsuchikage. Kyōi's legs were similarly straight and shapely, full of strength.

After the passion, Yōkō secretly picked up a dinner knife, his heart full of conflict.

To eliminate any danger or suspicion towards himself, he should mercilessly eliminate Kyōi right now.

Kyōi lay on Yōkō's chest, unaware of his inner turmoil.

She murmured, "If... if only... I could just stay with you, how wonderful that would be."

Yōkō gently put down the dinner knife, wrapped his arms around Kyōi's smooth back, and pressed her deeply against his chest.

He didn't know how much time had passed before Yōkō fell into a deep sleep.

Kyōi got up, cleaned Yōkō's body, and covered him with his clothes.

She took one last look at Yōkō on the counter, withdrew her lingering gaze, turned, and left through the back door of the izakaya.

Everything related to Konoha was over.

Inside the izakaya, Yōkō's eyes suddenly opened.

Kyōi left the izakaya and came to a park in the southern district of the village.

It was less of a park and more of a large green space.

The trees here were lush, and once inside in the darkness, people outside couldn't see anything.

Kyōi painstakingly searched the base of every large tree for Iwagakure signals.

After searching for an hour, Kyōi found the signal and waited under the indicated large tree.

Before long, a person crawled out from the bushes in the distance.

"Mei, is that you?"

Kyōi's younger sister slowly climbed to her feet.

"Sister, your mission is finally over. Come back to the village with me."

But there was no trace of joy on Kyōi's face.

The intelligence she passed led to the village's great defeat. Uzumaki Mito showed no signs of decline and still possessed formidable combat power.

Kyōi knew her village. Even if she returned, she would face the terrifying interrogation of Iwagakure's Anbu.

However, for the sake of her sister's future in the village, Kyōi had to go back.

"Okay, little sister, let's go back."

Mei rushed forward and hugged Kyōi tightly.

In the dense woods of Konoha's park, a pair of sisters from Iwagakure offered each other support and strength...

"Uh...!"

A kunai stabbed into Kyōi's abdomen!

Kyōi looked at Mei in horror, her eyes filled with confusion and despair.

"Sister! You shouldn't have betrayed the village! The village has issued a kill order for you! All spies in Konoha have betrayed the village!"

Kyōi cried, "Mei, I'm willing to go back with you! As long as I clear my name in the interrogation department, you won't be affected..."

Mei hardened her heart. Only by killing her traitorous sister herself and personally bringing back her sister's head could she dispel the village's suspicions about herself!

She stepped back half a step, raised her leg, and kicked the kunai deeper into Kyōi's abdomen, then pulled out another kunai and stabbed it towards Kyōi's throat!

Kyōi suddenly smiled.

So, all her years of sacrifice had only moved her.

Under the influence of Iwagakure, her sister had become a shinobi who, no matter the circumstances, only considered the village and herself.

Shinobi... So this is a shinobi?

The kunai pierced Kyōi's throat.

Thwack!

A large hand grabbed Mei's wrist.

Mei was horrified to find the kunai had only penetrated half a centimeter into Kyōi's throat.

Not only that, but curse marks appeared all over Mei's body, sealing all her joints.

Yōkō was very satisfied. Even after not using the Self-Cursing Body Binding Seal for a long time, it was still so efficient.

Yōkō pinched Mei's chin, examining her:

"Good. The Iwagakure spy discovered she looked very similar to Konoha villager Kyōi and used this coincidence to carry out various espionage activities.

That explanation might barely pass. You can die now, Iwagakure spy."
