Once they were out of sight, Felix switched over to the original body's account, the one he used for streaming.
Opening the platform, he checked his messages.
"Looks like the fans of this body are loyal. They've been messaging every day."
It was perfect timing. Earlier, his hours had been tied up playing with his employees. Now, he could finally sit down, log in, and play Splatoon.
He opened Splatoon and started his live stream. Almost instantly, a surge of viewers flooded in.
[ OMGG FELIX!! ]
[ It's been so long since your last stream, except that time you uploaded your No Coins Challenge in Subway Surfer! ]
[ We thought you quit already!! QwQ]
Felix chuckled as he read the messages, answering each one patiently.
"I didn't quit! Don't worry."
He left out the part about spending the past few months buried in game development.
That was his little secret.
[ What's that in your background?? ]
[ Are you gonna do another No Coins Challenge, Felix? ]
"That's right," Felix replied with a smile. "It's Splatoon, and it was made by Tierra. As for the No Coins Challenge… maybe, if I feel like it. But for now, I'm going to stream this game!"
He navigated to the game's menu. On the screen, every player's profile displayed their name above the word Splatville. Felix's view shifted into the tutorial mode.
"Alright, now we are in Splatville! And check this out—my character's art style in the game is completely different."
The screen lit up with vibrant colors.
Neon ink splashes shimmered in the sun, and the streets of Splatville bustled with holographic billboards, graffiti art, and NPCs going about their routines.
Felix's character stood at the center of the plaza, ink gun in hand, the stylized shading on his avatar making him stand out even among the crowd.
His viewers began to spam chat with excitement as Felix slowly showing off every detail.
[ That's a cute character design! ]
[ The art style is unique, I'm itching to try it out now ]
Felix switched into his cheerful, seller-like tone.
"You guys should! It's only 60 credits, which is just the right price."
He had set the game's price at 60 credits on purpose. Too cheap, and people might think it lacked quality. Too expensive, and they would question if it was worth it.
He didn't have a solid reputation yet, the price had to feel fair.
[ Hmm… we'll see ]
[ Why does it feel like Felix turned into a salesperson ?? ]
Felix knew the viewers would get impatient if he stood still for too long.
He walked toward a squid-shaped NPC, its body shifting with patterns of glowing liquid.
When he tapped the prompt, a menu popped up showing different variations of the squid, each with a different light pattern inside.
"I'll show you around," Felix's lips curved into a smile. "This squid NPC here is Shawn, looks like he's selling a boost potion."
The chat reacted right away.
[ Why does the NPC look like that?? ]
[ Unique design! I like the design. ]
[ Am I the only one who thinks he looks… good? ]
[ Ew… what do you mean by that?? (Sob.Emoji)]
[ Not like that! I mean, I kind of want to keep looking at it. The design is eye-catching. ]
[ Hold up! you're right (Skelotonhead.emoji) ]
Felix moved around the NPC in a small circle like any curious player would, checking him from different angles.
The inside shifted as John turned slightly, his hat tilting in a way that made him look almost alive.
Felix zoomed in slightly.
The squid NPC's gelatinous body caught the light, making the liquid inside swirl like molten glass.
Its small hat tilted just enough to give it a quirky personality, and the tiny blinking eyes beneath the brim seemed to watch the player with quiet curiosity.
Felix wouldn't deny that it looked appealing in a strangely delicious way.
He made a mental note to create an in-game restaurant in the future.
"I agree with the comments," he said with a small laugh. "Right now I'm way too broke. Let's head to another place."
He then showed the viewers all the available stores in the area.
The chat stayed engaged the whole time, many already planning to buy the game. Felix had plenty of detailed information to share about each shop, enough to keep the tour interesting from start to finish.
Felix, now in his squid form, finally stepped into the Splatville Battle Arena, the central hub where players gathered before each match.
The arena stretched wide, built on platforms suspended above shimmering, holographic water that rippled with simulated tides.
Neon coral structures rose like living sculptures, glowing softly beneath the artificial sunlight overhead.
[ It looks good… What kind of place is this? ]
[ The place looks like it's straight out of an aquatic planet. ]
[ You mean Aquaon? I live there, and this place looks nothing like it. It feels more like how things would have been centuries ago. ]
Felix nodded at the last comment, surprised that someone recognized this style of architecture in this age of interstellar travel.
He swam forward toward The Lobby, a sleek, open chamber where transparent walls displayed a panoramic view of the arena's surrounding waters.
Holographic boards floated above, listing upcoming matches and player rankings, while soft light strips pulsed along the floor to guide players to their battle terminals.
[ That place looks so good… Play it already, Felix! ]
[ Yeah, play it already! ]
[ I want to see if it's worth my monthly allowance… Please play it, Felix! ]
Felix watched the chat flood with requests, their playful taunting bringing a spark of joy inside him.
Back when he played Splatoon 3 in the past, the game had been plagued with frequent maintenance issues that frustrated the player base.
In contrast, Splatoon 2 didn't hold onto many players either, since it was essentially an upgraded version of Splatoon 1 without much new content, and the older game still had stable servers and a stronger nostalgic pull.
Because of this, most long-time fans stuck with the original.
He checked the available modes for his current level and found he was only at level One.
"The ranked mode is locked. It says you need to be level 10 to unlock it." For now, he added only Turf War and casual ranked matches to the selection.
He didn't want to overwhelm his players, especially since this might be their first time seeing this kind of game in action.
Felix scrolled through the holographic menu, and two shimmering panels unfolded before him.
The first glowed in hot neon pink and deep ocean blue, the words Turf War stretching across it like wet paint.
A looping preview played: players in squid form diving into puddles of ink, then bursting out in sprays of color. Streets, walls, and rooftops turned into a chaotic mosaic while the minimap pulsed with shifting pink and blue territories.
"In Turf War," Felix said, tilting his head toward the preview, "your team's goal is simple— cover as much ground as possible with your ink before the timer runs out. Pink versus blue, chaos versus chaos."
The second panel shimmered with a sharper, metallic edge, labeled Rank. Its preview moved differently — tighter camera angles, smaller maps, three players against three.
Every movement looked deliberate, the kind of match where a single mistake could decide the win.
"And Rank matches," Felix added, "are three versus three, all about control and precision. But…" He tapped the air, and the panel dimmed. A silver message appeared: Level 10 required to unlock.
"For now, we stick with the Turf War."
[ It doesn't seem like it will be fun… ]
[ Is Tierra Entertainment even capable of making a blockbuster game? ]
Felix only glanced at the comments and responded to one asking if the game would receive regular updates.
"Yep, I've heard they'll be adding a few more modes. If you're still skeptical about buying it, you can always wait for the updates."
He had already announced the same thing on his Game Designer account for Tierra Entertainment in the HoloNet, the galaxy's main social platform.
In his post, he outlined how future updates would add new modes, maps, weapons, and more.
Many players had already seen the announcement, and their hesitation had eased a little.
Not wanting to waste more time, Felix tapped [ Turf War ]Immediately, an animation unfurled across his screen — smooth, flawless, like silk sliding over glass. The transition still amazed him no matter how many times he saw it.
His character appeared in full animation: a squid-like form shimmering with holographic textures, each movement fluid and springy.
The ink on its body shifted with the light, almost alive, and its large, bright eyes blinked with a curious spark. Around him, the other players materialized one by one, all beginners like him, their levels marked between 1 and 3.
[ As expected of Tierra Entertainment! Their every game has such a unique art style! ]
After the animation ended, Felix's four teammates appeared beside him.
All of them were armed with Octobrush weapons, while he had chosen his trusty Splattershot.
The match assigned them to the pink team.
As the countdown reached zero, the team burst forward, their holographic forms shimmering in the arena's light.
