Chapter 21 - The girls' building

The last word spoken in the room was followed by absolute silence for about two minutes. Bobby stared at the bald-headed teacher for a while, studying him. All Bobby could see was a joke, dressed in a ninja-like outfit. He didn't know why Zhul had this sudden interest in eliminating a student, only that he shared the same interest at the moment.

"Why does this bald-headed fuck want to kill Chuck? I totally understand my own reason, but him? He's a goddamn teacher that should have no relation whatsoever with Chuck," Bobby thought as he saw the weird grin on Zhul's face.

"If you're really willing to help me kill that bastard," Bobby spoke up, "then I need to know why you want to kill him. Come on, tell me, teacher, did Chuck steal one of your ninja costumes?" Bobby said in an unserious tone.

Zhul walked over to Bobby slowly as he spoke, "My reasons do not matter. I just need you to put him in an impossible situation, and when you have everything secured, I'll take it from there."

Zhul stopped in his tracks and stared at Bobby for a few seconds before speaking again. "The humiliation you've suffered cannot go unanswered, can it?"

"No. It can't," Bobby replied with a cold voice.

"Good," Zhul said. "Now here's what I need you to do…"

"You feeling nervous, Chucky? Don't tell me you haven't ventured into the girls' building before," Erik joked as he saw Chuck taking deep breaths occasionally.

They were currently headed into the girls' dorm building in search of Kaiden. The closer they got to the building, the heavier Chuck's breaths became.

"Since when did you start calling me Chucky? It sounds weird," Chuck said as he took another deep breath. "And I'm not nervous. I'm just a little bit tense."

"Tense, nervous, what's the difference? From the way you're speaking, I guess you're a virgin. Haaa!" Erik laughed as his voice got louder.

Chuck kept his head down in humiliation, not wanting to take things further. They kept walking for a while until the girls' dorm building finally came into view. It was just as enormous as the boys' dorm.

Chuck could see several girls of different shapes and sizes exiting and entering the building. Noticing the girls walking around made Chuck lower his head even more, but he couldn't help sneaking a few peeks at them as he advanced closer to the building.

"This is mother nature at her finest," Chuck thought as he marveled at their bodies.

As he raised his head slightly to take another peek at a particular girl, she turned, locking eyes with him. The moment she recognized who it was, she immediately signaled her friends.

"Hey, isn't that the guy that beat Bobby in a fight? What's his name again?" she said, still staring at Chuck.

"I think it's Chuck," her friend replied, now also looking at him.

"He's kinda hot, don't you think? I wonder how long he is," she said, almost biting her lips.

"You can't go around fucking any guy you think is hot. You don't even know him," her friend facepalmed.

Erik saw the two girls obviously having a conversation about Chuck, which made him chuckle.

"You just recently joined the academy, right?" Erik asked with a proud smile.

"Yeah," Chuck replied.

"That explains why you don't really know any girls. Well, I joined about four months ago, around the same time as Kaiden, if I remember right," Erik said. "You see, Chucky, during my gracious four months, I've managed to make friends with almost all the girls there are. I can introduce you to those two hotties right there."

"Oh no, please don't," Chuck said, walking faster than before.

Deciding not to converse with the girls around, they both walked steadily until they reached the girls' dorm building. Before they had the chance to enter, they both saw the faint glint of silver-colored hair.

Looking at the figure in an ever-attractive, tight-fitted dress, Chuck's heart warmed as he saw Kaiden emerge from the building.

"Why am I not feeling tense anymore? She's really a goddess," Chuck thought as a curve formed on his lips.

"So you guys came to get me, huh? How cute," Kaiden said as she saw the two figures standing at the entrance of the building.

"It was actually Chuck's idea!" Erik said as his smile widened.

Hearing what Erik said, Chuck felt a little embarrassed as he kicked him in the shin. "I just thought that it would be better if we all went there together," Chuck said as he felt a part of his face heating up.

"Hmm," Kaiden stared at Chuck briefly. "Whatever. I take it you want Erik and me to beat the hell out of you again? I'm growing into it, you know," Kaiden said as she conjured a little ball of fire, dispersing it quickly in her hand.

"Well, you can't do it now, alright? We need a private space. Maybe we'll find one when we get to the dimension," Chuck said, taking a few steps back.

The trio made their way to the main field, where several students were already gathered. Several heads turned periodically as whispering sounds reverberated across the field.

"Alright everyone, listen up," a loud voice was heard from the magically enhanced speakers in the field. Looking up at the podium, the students could see Principal Flemming with a microphone.

"I was expecting the hot military personnel to address us again, not this old shithead," a student groaned.

"I want to thank the brave students who are present today. As you all know, we are heading into another dimension with only one purpose. To kill some beasts, harvest their crystals, and gain some experience!" Principal Flemming continued. "Now, I would like to give the stage to one of the military guides who will be your escort in the dimension."

"Please welcome Professor Modrick Dorn!"

Several claps were heard as Professor Modrick, clad in his military outfit, stepped forward with a look that made him seem like he didn't care about anything in the world.

Standing beside Kaiden, Chuck could feel the rage coming from her. He turned to look at her, only to see her shaking subtly.

"I really don't have much to say, but the rules are simple. Don't venture too far. If you get lost, that's your problem," Professor Modrick said with a poker face. "Now, I need you all to form groups of five. After that's done, the group that accumulates the most crystals will be the winner, and they will, in turn, be selected for an upcoming event that will involve the top students of the ten mage academies."

Whispers started to erupt, but they were quickly cut short. "We don't have all day, so get on with it. Choose your team, and get ready!"

The students started shuffling around, trying to pick whomever they could to be on their team. But one student stayed perfectly still as she locked eyes with Professor Modrick. In turn, Professor Modrick formed a large grin on his lips as he spoke.

"Alexa Kaiden, I would like to have a private conversation with you. Come over to my office now!" Professor Modrick said as he quickly turned around.
