Leo walked out of the bedroom, closing the heavy door behind him. He held himself back, but he would not let those two men go free. He had to do something.
Inside, the four teenagers stood with the two injured men. The air in the room was cold, almost freezing. They were trembling.
Gabriel stood near the center of the room. He took a deep breath and tried to look strong.
"I would kill them if they were not your men," he said to Nathan. He looked at the door with a proud expression on his face.
Nathan looked at Gabriel. His face was pale, and his hands were still shaking.
"They are not my men," Nathan said. He did not look proud. He looked tired and... scared.
Eli was trembling. He moved slowly toward the sofa where Ray sat. Ray's face was covered in bruises, and his clothes were torn. Eli looked at the steel handcuffs on Ray's wrists.
"Are you okay?" Eli asked. He reached out but did not touch the metal. "We have to release the handcuffs."
