It was almost June when Rudolph Symboli finally returned to Tracen Academy.
She was exactly the same as she had been a few months ago, completely unchanged.
However, before returning to Tracen Academy, Rudolph Symboli had notified Sirius in advance.
So, when she returned to the Student Council Room again, Rudolph Symboli still saw an empty Student Council Room.
Looking at the empty Student Council Room, Rudolph Symboli didn't mind. She simply walked into the Student Council Room and then closed the large wooden door.
Walking to the main seat and sitting down, Rudolph Symboli saw that there weren't many documents in front of her, and she knew that Sirius had been helping her process documents during this time, and perhaps Maruzensky and Representative Chiaki had also been helping.
Sirius's ability to handle many problems was clearly not strong; it was impossible for the documents to be so neatly cleared.
Rudolph Symboli just sighed at the thought of this.
She wanted to thank those two, but... "I've been blacklisted by them, what's there to think about?"
After a self-deprecating remark, Rudolph Symboli picked up the documents on the table.
"I missed recruitment this year too. I'll see if I can recruit others next year."
Saying this, Rudolph Symboli began to process the documents.
There weren't many documents left, so processing them was relatively simple.
After finishing the last document, Rudolph Symboli took off her glasses: "Next..."
Thinking about various things, Rudolph Symboli finally leaned back in her chair.
After completely choosing to retire, what Rudolph Symboli needed to do every day was probably to handle what needed to be handled in the Student Council.
Other than that, there was nothing else.
It was precisely because of this that she could only lean back in her chair now, thinking about what to do next.
However, as if drawn by a magnet, Rudolph Symboli always thought of that person.
She knew she shouldn't think of her, but, just as she had told Speed Symboli before.
She still couldn't let go.
If she could let go of this matter, perhaps she would have apologized to the other party long ago, and then... perhaps she would apply to graduate from Tracen Academy, and then apply for twenty to fifty years of polar scientific research.
At least in that place, Rudolph Symboli wouldn't have to worry about seeing Yayoi Shizen again and causing her any psychological trauma.
However, Rudolph Symboli still hadn't let go.
She knew that a broken mirror is hard to mend, and spilled water cannot be retrieved.
But just like a drowning person, even if there is only a single unconnected straw in front of them, they will grasp it.
Hope is beautiful.
Hope is dangerous.
For Rudolph,
That subtle hope, like a light that can only barely be seen with a telescope in the dead of night,
Like the glow emitted when a match is struck,
Is the reason she still cannot let go of this matter.
Because she is that drowning person.
So her emotions tell her not to give up any opportunity.
But she knows that this kind of thing has long since lost all hope.
Therefore, she wanted to apologize to Yayoi Shizen, to apologize in person, and then go somewhere to live out the rest of her life.
However, she didn't have the courage to give up her hope.
At least the current Luna didn't have that kind of courage.
After yet another round of deliberation, Rudolph, who ultimately gave up on going to France to apologize to the other party, finally opened her eyes again.
As she opened her eyes, Rudolph Symboli heard the ticking of the grandfather clock in the Student Council Room.
The continuous sounds quickly allowed Rudolph to determine the current time.
"It's already four o'clock. Time to go."
After tidying up the documents in front of her, Rudolph Symboli stood up.
She no longer had so many responsibilities, nor so many things to deal with.
Once she handed over the Student Council President's work to someone else, Rudolph would completely become an ordinary Uma Musume.
So, after finishing these things, Rudolph Symboli should return to her dorm.
She returned to her dorm along the road.
Opening the dorm door again, Rudolph Symboli saw the dorm interior, completely unchanged from a few months ago.
Looking at the situation in the dorm, Rudolph Symboli's expression changed slightly, and finally she let out a sigh of relief as if a great burden had been lifted.
Walking to the desk by the window, Rudolph Symboli merely brushed her finger lightly across the dust cover and felt a thick layer of dust.
This proved that no one had opened the dorm door for several months.
But this was also natural, as Rudolph Symboli had no roommate.
So it was only natural for the dorm to be like this.
Holding up her finger and looking at the dust clinging to her fingertip, Rudolph Symboli's expression remained unchanged, as relaxed as when she first entered the dorm.
Looking at this empty dorm.
Rudolph Symboli simply took out her phone again.
The phone with the cracked screen quickly opened the Twitter interface under Rudolph's control.
The Twitter interface still showed news about France.
Looking at the content, Rudolph Symboli fell silent.
Just as she lacked the courage to give up hope, she also lacked the courage to understand Yayoi Shizen's affairs.
So, she ultimately closed the phone interface again.
After closing the phone interface, Rudolph Symboli lifted the dust cover from the chair.
Rudolph Symboli, sitting back in the chair, didn't take out her phone. She just looked up at the wooden ceiling.
She fell into thought.
Finally, under a blanket of darkness, Rudolph Symboli fell into a deep sleep.
Late at night, Rudolph Symboli was startled awake.
Because she dreamed of things that she felt were bound to happen, yet she feared the reality of them happening.
What she dreamed of was not her apologizing to Yayoi Shizen, or Yayoi Shizen choosing to accept her apology, and then the two of them having no further connection or anything like that.
Rudolph Symboli dreamed that Yayoi Shizen responded to her apology.
And then they reconciled.
She remembered that she was very happy and joyous in her dream.
But... it was precisely such a dream that startled Rudolph Symboli awake.
She knew that such a thing was simply impossible to happen.
She feared the possibility of it happening.
Because she could accept Yayoi Shizen never forgiving her; or never caring about her, treating her as if she didn't exist.
But she could not accept being able to reunite with Yayoi Shizen and once again have their shared happiness.
She could accept all bad endings.
But when faced with a story so beautiful it seemed only fit for a fairy tale.
Rudolph Symboli felt fear.
