Hexa sat in the dark prison cell, hugging her knees. Everything felt so much more distant to her now. It was like she wasn't even in control of her own body anymore. The world felt misty, like it could never be cleared from the haze that surronded her in the already simly lit prison cell.
She felt numb, so numb she couldn't even cry about it anymore. Life felt like it was too much for her. Everything overwhelmed her; her mother is in the grave, her abusive father somewhere out there in the worls she came from, possibly hurting someone else. The only person she thought cared about her left her in the span of two days, and the only people she cared about in the "real world" are also stuck there with her. And in the hands of some stranger, one with a damn fake smile on her face every fucking second.
She let the back of her head hit the wall behind her and let go of her knees, letting her legs fall of the cold floor. She stared at the edge of the ceiling.
Why did you leave them with her, damn it? Hexa, get a grip of youself. Oh, right. You ended up in a goddamn prison for your stupid stunt. Hexa was deep in her thoughts. Her eyes glistering with tears she didn't even notice she had formed, and the walls around her were slowly getting darker and darker.
First, they trapped her in that lab, I won't forgive them for it. And now they dare to trap us behind the bars. Demons. I need to get out of here. I need revenge. I just wanted to help someone who was stuck in the building, damn it. Then that ungraceful brat showed up. "If things were different.." Fuck it. That girl knows nothing about me, about us. I need to kill her, she though. She turned her head down just a bit to stare at a lower spot on the wall, her hands balling into fists. And this damn rabbithole.
The walls kept getting darker until they were jet black. Her memories flooded in. None of the happy ones, just the bad ones that felt like they only wanted to defamate her.
But then, she saw her own mother, who smiling. Something she could barely remember. A happy memory, right? No. Her stabbed form flickered over her every now and then. Was this really what was going on inside her head?
Her vision went black again. This time, she saw the Nullbounders, including Maya. In her vision, they all were demons with horns on their heads and a creepy, nightmareish smile on their faces. Though, she only saw the outlines of them right now. Maya was the one with the brightest glowing red outlines. In Hexa's head, she was also part of the reason she was put to prison.
Her thoughts were clouded. She wanted to just become part of the wall and disappear. She wanted all this to end. It felt like her soul was slowly slipping out of her body.
She punched her leg to see, or feel if it was real. But of coursr, it hurt like hell. This was her reality, and she couldn't change the fact she was now stuck here all alone. Her little brother had probably already forgotten about her existence, so she had no hope in anyone finding her.
Soon, her tension loosened, her fists opening. "What is happening to me? I need to do something about this. I can't let myself hurt anyone anymore. That's what mom and Lily would have wanted," Hexa finally said, the tears she didn't even notice she was holding in finally ran down her cheeks.
Lily. The first person she had ever mourned. How could have Hexa have forgotten her unborn little sister for so long?
She tilted her head forward, then forcefully banged it on the wall. She sat there doing it until her vision went all black and she could only feel her head hitting the floor. She went out cold on the floor of the cell.
And somewhere far away, a candle was put out, but still had string left to burn and be relit.
