Ling Yue's shoulder hit the ground first, followed by his skull. He let out a groan as blood poured, the warm, metallic smell streaming down his face. It soaked his robe's collar, instantly changing the color from white to red.
Who the hell had pushed him? he thought, struggling to look around, but his vision had blurred and he could barely see anything.
Then someone screamed.
Voices rang in his head, and he groaned harder, placing his hands on his head to block the noise out. Then he heard footsteps approaching and someone screaming his name.
"Ling Yue!"
He blinked and tried to look at the person's face, but he could barely see anything. The only thing he could use to recognize the person was their scent.
Sweet daisy. Han Junhui.
"Ling Yue," he softly muttered as he wrapped his arms around his waist from behind, hauling him up before his cheek. "Can you hear me, Ling Yue?"
Ling Yue blinked and let out another groan. "I can hear you, A'Jun."
