Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Eevee and Emolga, both Pokémon were showing signs of serious exhaustion. Eevee's fur is ruffled, and she pants heavily, her small body trembling slightly. Emolga is no better; his gliding membranes droop, and he struggles to keep his balance, wobbling precariously. Each of them could only withstand one more hit.

Orion watches the battle with Latias, his expression thoughtful. "Their battling style is interesting," he comments, adjusting his glasses. "A pure show of will."

Latias nods in agreement. "I am impressed that they have gotten this far without knowing too much about Pokémon battles," she responds telepathically. "Their bond with their Pokémon is strong."

Kamala, realizing Eevee is paralyzed and struggling, bites her lip. She glances at Doreen and Emolga, a mix of determination and worry in her eyes. She had to think fast.

Doreen is pacing back and forth, trying to devise a plan. Emolga's speed is his greatest asset, but he is visibly worn down. "Okay, Emolga," she says, her voice determined. "We need to do a hit-and-run thing. One last spark! Can you do that?"

Emolga nods weakly, determination flashing in his eyes. He knows he does not have the strength for a prolonged fight.

Kamala, realizing she has no choice, takes a deep breath. "Eevee," she calls out, her voice firm. "Use Tackle! One last time! Just do it!"

Doreen, knowing Emolga has very low health, steels her resolve. "Emolga, Nuzzle! Give it everything you've got!"

The moment hangs in the air. Eevee can barely move due to the paralysis. Each movement felt slow. Despite her body screaming at her to stop, she focuses all her remaining energy on Doreen.

I can do this! she thinks, her eyes burning with determination. I have to!

Doreen feels a surge of panic. Emolga is barely able to stand, but there's no other choice. She believes Emolga can pull it off.

Emolga, with a final burst of speed, surges forward, electricity crackling around his cheeks. He aims for Eevee.

Kamala watches, her heart pounding in her chest. There is nothing more she can do. She just has to believe in Eevee.

Do it, Eevee! she thinks, her eyes fixed on her partner. You can do this!

Eevee, despite the paralysis, musters all her strength. The two Pokémon collide. Emolga hits Eevee with one last Nuzzle.

The arena is silent for a moment. Then, slowly, Emolga falls to the ground. Eevee barely stands, but she stands.

Orion steps forward, his expression one of admiration. "Emolga is unable to battle," he announces, his voice clear and loud. "Eevee is the victor! Congratulations, Ms. Marvel!"

Doreen gasps, rushing to Emolga's side. "Emolga! Are you okay?" she cries, kneeling beside him.

Emolga looks at Doreen, chirping weakly.

Emolga chirps again, sounding sad. Doreen pets Emolga gently.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, little buddy," Doreen says, stroking Emolga's fur. "You did great. You really gave it your all. We'll get 'em next time."

Tippy-Toe chimes in, perched on Doreen's shoulder. "Squeak-squeak! (Translation: You put up a good fight, kid. That electric surge was impressive.)"

Emolga looks up at Doreen and Tippy-Toe, chirping softly, a little bit of his spark returning.

"Yeah, we will get them next time," Doreen says, hugging Emolga close. "We'll train harder, and we'll come back stronger, right?"

Kamala rushes to Eevee, scooping her up in her arms. "You did it, Eevee!" she exclaims, her voice filled with gratitude. "You were amazing!"

Eevee nuzzles against Kamala's cheek, her eyes shining with pride. Despite the exhaustion and the pain, she had emerged victorious.

"You were so brave, Eevee," Kamala whispers, hugging her tightly. "I'm so proud of you."

The first battle at Pokémon Home has come to an end, leaving everyone with a newfound appreciation for the strength, determination, and bonds that define the world of Pokémon.

Orion smiles warmly at the two young women and their Pokémon. "Now then," he says gently, "I think it's best if we return Eevee and Emolga to their Poké Balls for now. They need to rest."

Kamala and Doreen nod in agreement, gently returning their exhausted partners to the safety of their respective Premier Balls. With a soft click, the Pokémon are safely stored.

The group then heads back to the main lobby. Latias walks beside Orion, Pikachu rests comfortably on her shoulder, while Kamala, Doreen, and Tippy-Toe follow closely behind. As they arrive, Orion gestures towards a futuristic-looking machine.

"Now, let's get these two patched up, shall we?" Orion says with a reassuring smile. "This healing machine will have them feeling as good as new in no time." He carefully places the Poké Balls containing Eevee and Emolga on the platform. The machine hums to life, bathing the Poké Balls in a soft, restorative light.

After a few moments, the machine beeps, signaling that the healing process is complete. Orion retrieves the Poké Balls and hands them back to Kamala and Doreen. "All better!" he says cheerfully. "They're ready to go whenever you are."

Kamala and Doreen release Eevee and Emolga once more. The two Pokémon bound into their trainers arms. "Wow, that was so cool!" Kamala exclaims, her eyes wide with excitement. "I can't believe how intense it was!"

Doreen grins, a competitive glint in her eyes. "Yeah, that was so fun!" she replies. "But next time, I'm totally winning! Emolga and I will be ready!"

Orion chuckles, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I'm glad you both enjoyed it so much," he says kindly. "Remember, with proper training and a strong bond, your Pokémon can become invaluable partners, not just in battles, but also in your heroic activities. Who knows? Maybe Eevee and Emolga will help you take down even bigger villains in the future!"

"And as a trainer, you will always learn more and develop closer bonds with your partner," Latias adds, "It is not about winning or losing, but the experience and memories that you make along the way."

Orion claps his hands together, a glint of entrepreneurial spirit in his eyes. "Speaking of training," he says, reaching for a colorful booklet, "I happen to have just the thing! My Beginner Guidebook to Pokemon! It's filled with all sorts of helpful tips and tricks for raising strong and capable Pokémon." He holds up some brightly colored packages. "And of course, you can't forget Poké Blocks and Moomoo Milk! Essential for keeping your Pokémon happy and healthy!"

Kamala and Doreen exchange excited glances. "Ooh, yes, please!" Kamala says, her enthusiasm bubbling over. "We'll take them!"

After purchasing the guidebook, Poké Blocks, and Moomoo Milk, Kamala and Doreen express their gratitude to Orion and Latias. "Thanks so much, Owner! This was amazing!" Kamala says, beaming. "We'll definitely be back!"

"Yeah, this was the best!" Doreen agrees, giving Emolga a loving pat. "We'll see you again soon!"

With a final wave, Kamala, Doreen, and Tippy-Toe leave Pokémon Home, their hearts filled with excitement and anticipation for their new Pokémon journey.

Orion watches them go, a satisfied smile on his face. "Well, Latias," he says, turning to his assistant, "that was quite the success. I certainly hope they do return soon. I have a feeling they are going to become excellent trainers."

Latias nods, her eyes thoughtful. "Indeed, Orion," she replies telepathically. "They have kind hearts and a strong desire to learn. I believe they will go far."
