Chapter 121 - Chapter 121

Chapter 121

Weeks passed, and the Berry planting project thrived. Orion Oak, accompanied by Latias in her human form, and Pikachu perched on his shoulder, visited the designated Wayne Enterprises land. He observed a lush, vibrant forest of newly planted Berry trees, their branches heavy with glowing fruit. Workers moved among them, meticulously checking the growth, confirming that everything was progressing smoothly. Orion felt a quiet satisfaction, knowing his mission was nearing completion.

The Berry plants grew with remarkable speed, their leaves a deeper green than any native flora. Clusters of shimmering fruit, each the size of a small apple, hung from the branches. The air itself seemed cleaner, imbued with a subtle, sweet fragrance. The land teemed with small, indigenous animals, drawn to the bountiful harvest, coexisting peacefully with the burgeoning Pokémon.

Orion's mission was more than just planting seeds; it was about laying the groundwork for a future where humans and Pokémon could truly thrive together. This thriving ecosystem was a testament to that vision.

As Orion admired the flourishing landscape, an elderly butler approached with an air of impeccable professionalism. It was Alfred Pennyworth, who introduced himself to Orion with polite formality.

"Mr. Oak, I presume?" Alfred's voice was smooth, cultured, and carried a hint of amused curiosity.

"Indeed," Orion replied, a subtle smile playing on his lips. "And you must be Alfred. It is an honor."

Pikachu, sensing Alfred's calm demeanor, offered a soft Pika-Pika of greeting.

"The pleasure is all mine, sir," Alfred responded, his eyes briefly flicking to Pikachu before returning to Orion. "Master Wayne extends his regards. He would be most pleased if you, along with your charming companions, would join him at Wayne Manor for a private discussion."

Latias, ever observant, offered a soft, telepathic nudge to Orion, her thoughts echoing a question about the sudden invitation. Orion acknowledged her with a slight nod, intrigued.

"A private discussion, you say?" Orion mused. "Very well. We accept Master Wayne's invitation."

Alfred offered a subtle, almost imperceptible nod of satisfaction. "Excellent. The limousine awaits." He gestured toward a sleek black vehicle parked a short distance away. "I trust the arrangements are satisfactory?"

"Perfectly so," Orion confirmed.

Alfred then chauffeured Orion and his companions to the sprawling estate in a luxurious limousine. The ride was smooth, quiet, and swift, allowing Orion a moment of contemplation before his meeting with Bruce Wayne.

The limousine glided through the ornate gates of Wayne Manor. The grand estate stretched before them, a majestic gothic structure of dark stone and towering spires, framed by meticulously manicured grounds. Ivy climbed the ancient walls, hinting at centuries of history. Fountains played in the distance, their soft splashing a counterpoint to the city's distant hum. It was a place that spoke of old money, deep secrets, and quiet power.

Alfred led them through a discreet side entrance. They descended a concealed elevator, the hum of machinery a stark contrast to the opulence above. The elevator doors opened with a soft whoosh, revealing a cavernous space bathed in the glow of computer monitors and advanced technology. This was the legendary Batcave.

Orion, Latias, and Pikachu stepped out into the hidden command center. Before them stood an assembly of figures whose presence radiated power and purpose. Batman, a stoic shadow even in the well-lit cave, stood at the center. Beside him, Superman's iconic blue and red shone with quiet strength. Wonder Woman, an embodiment of grace and power, regarded them with keen intelligence. Iron Man, his armor gleaming, leaned casually against a console, while Captain America, ever vigilant, stood at ease.

Orion did not expect the Justice League and Avengers to be present.

"Greetings, heroes," Orion said, his voice calm and confident. "I didn't expect the greatest heroes on Earth to be waiting for me."

"Pika-Pika!" Pikachu added, a warm spark in its cheeks.

"We appreciate you coming, Orion," Superman said, his voice a warm, reassuring presence in the Batcave. "Your work is important."

"Indeed," Wonder Woman added, her gaze steady and thoughtful. "We have observed the remarkable bonds forged at Pokémon Home."

Iron Man offered a wry grin. "Orion, right? Tony Stark. So, what's the secret sauce for getting a Pikachu to zap Electro without shorting itself out?"

Captain America nodded, a genuine smile on his face. "It's good to finally meet you. We've heard much about your establishment."

Batman remained silent, his eyes fixed on Orion.

"The pleasure is mine, heroes," Orion replied, his gaze meeting each of theirs in turn. "I must ask, however, what brings such an esteemed gathering to my humble presence?"

Superman stepped forward, his expression earnest. "We are here to offer our support, Orion. The coming of Pokémon is a global event, and we want to ensure their safe integration."

Superman stepped forward.

"We understand the potential benefits, Mr. Oak," Superman said, his tone earnest. "But such a massive shift… it carries risks. What are the challenges we can anticipate?"

Orion nodded, acknowledging the question.

"The primary challenge will be human reaction," Orion explained. "Fear, misunderstanding, and greed are powerful forces. Some will seek to exploit Pokémon for power or profit. Others will simply be afraid of what they do not understand."

"That is where we come in," Captain America stated, his voice firm. "To protect the innocent and guide those who are lost."

"We've seen it already," Tony Stark chimed in. "Kingpin tried to weaponize them. Others will follow suit."

"Pokémon are not tools to be wielded without respect," Latias communicated telepathically, her voice echoing in the heroes' minds. "They are partners. Friends."

Batman looked at Latias, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes.

"My mission is to cultivate understanding and partnership," Orion added. "Pokémon Home serves as a sanctuary and a guide. But it is one establishment. The scale of the coming arrival will require a broader, unified effort."

"Which is why we are here," Wonder Woman confirmed. "The Justice League and the Avengers stand ready to assist. We have already begun to gather data, but your direct insight, Mr. Oak, is invaluable."

"I am grateful for your support," Orion replied, a genuine warmth in his voice. "I confess, while I make extensive preparations, I am not omnipotent. There are those who will undoubtedly seek to harm or control Pokémon. Your combined strength and influence will be crucial in safeguarding them."

Pikachu, sensing the gravity of the conversation, nudged Orion's shoulder, a soft Pika of affirmation.

"Our resources are at your disposal," Batman said. "Intelligence, logistics, and enforcement."

"We want to ensure a smooth transition for everyone," Superman added. "For the Pokémon, and for the people of this world."

Tony Stark raised an eyebrow.

"So, what's the first step, Professor Oak? Besides planting magic berries and waiting for the floodgates to open?"

Orion smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes.

"The first step, Mr. Stark, is understanding. And perhaps, even forming your own bonds."

The heroes exchanged glances, a spark of curiosity ignited among them.

"You suggest we… acquire Pokémon?" Captain America asked, a hint of surprise in his tone.

"Indeed," Orion confirmed. "To truly understand Pokémon, to truly appreciate their nature, one must experience the bond firsthand. Many of your younger allies have already begun this journey."

"Batgirl, Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, the Teen Titans… even Harley and Ivy," Wonder Woman listed, a faint smile touching her lips. "They have shown us what is possible."

"We will consider your proposal, Orion," Superman said, his tone thoughtful.

"A partnership with such unique beings requires careful consideration," Wonder Woman added, her gaze sweeping over Latias and Pikachu.

Tony Stark crossed his arms, a faint hum of his arc reactor filling the silence. "Taking on a living, breathing creature is a bit more involved than upgrading a jet. We'll need to think on it."

Captain America nodded in agreement. "It's a big responsibility, a new life."

Batman remained silent, his white eyes fixed on Orion. The weight of their duties pressed on them, making such a personal decision complex.

"Take all the time you need, heroes," Orion replied, his voice calm and reassuring. "You are welcome at Pokémon Home at any time should you have questions. The Berry planting project is nearing completion. The arrival of wild Pokémon will follow shortly after. You will have ample opportunity to interact with them then."
