Chapter 14 - Half of the truth is revealed

Ogami Ryo's POV

I was working on some paperwork in the teacher's room. Being a teacher was tougher than I thought. It had only been a week since I started, and thankfully my class wasn't full of troublemakers… though Ace was in that class, and so was the son of a Yakuza boss who probably scared the others a little. Still manageable.

Rintaro told me that kid got attacked by an alien two days ago while on a date with a girl from another class. Is he cheating on Lala? Well, that's none of my business. I stood up from my chair.

I could sense a strong cursed aura somewhere in the school, but I couldn't pinpoint it. So I called Ace to help me track it. He went to the Occult Club while I checked the corners of the campus, searching for the source. Maybe a high-grade cursed object. Whatever it was, I had to find it before something went wrong.

It was already dark when I was searching the school field, still finding nothing. Ace hadn't reported anything either.

Then suddenly, cursed energy spiked violently from the fourth floor.

I grabbed Gekido and rushed there, calling for backup to secure the area.

"What is this insane cursed energy…" I muttered while cutting through the curses that blocked my way, checking whether anyone was still around.

While searching, I received a message from Ace that no civilians were left inside and that a student had unsealed a high-grade cursed tool and that a jujutsu student was also here.

"They made a student deal with a high-grade object? Seriously…"

Sensing the jujutsu boy's cursed energy, I headed toward him. He was in pretty bad shape, so I slashed the curse behind him from above with a vertical swing.

"Kid, you alright?"

"Huh? Who—?"

"Save it, you should rest," I said. He still looked wary.

"So, who's your teacher?"

"And why should I tell you?"

"Kids these days. Is this how you talk to the guy who just saved your life?"

"…Gojo Satoru."

"Hah? Gojo Satoru? Must be rough being his student."

"You know my teacher?"

"Yeah, we've met and worked together a few times… Call him. I need to talk to him."

"What for?"

"To tell him his student almost died, and he owes me one."

The kid pulled out his phone and called Gojo.

"Yeah, I found that. Someone wants to talk to you, sensei." He handed me the phone.

"Yo, Gojo."

"Who's this? Sorry, but I don't talk to strangers."

"It's Ogami."

"Oh! Ogami! How are you? How's Sora?"

"We're fine. But seriously, you left your student alone on a mission?"

"I wanted them to gain experience. If I'm with them all the time, they won't learn anything."

"Just admit you went out to buy sweets."

"Hehehe…"

"Anyway, get over here. Now."

"Okay okay, I'm close. Wait for me."

I gave the phone back.

"What's your name, kid?"

"Fushiguro Megumi."

"A girl's name? Did your dad lose a bet?"

"Ask him yourself!"

I ran out of things to talk about, so I just waited for Gojo.

Ace's POV

While I was sitting and resting, Itadori came over.

"Excuse me, senpai."

"Yo, Itadori. How are you? And the others? Anyone hurt?" I asked.

"I'm fine, senpai. Sasaki-senpai only fainted, but Iguchi-senpai got the worst of it, he was bleeding from the head."

"You're from the athletic club, right?" Yuki asked.

"I'm from the Occult Club," Itadori replied flatly, sitting beside me.

"Itadori, why are you at school this late?" Kenzaki-senpai asked.

"Ah, that…"

"Sasaki and Iguchi unsealed a high-grade cursed tool, so this all happened. Itadori found out they were in danger and rushed to save them," I said.

"I see."

"Sorry, senpai… if I hadn't picked it up, none of this would've happened."

"It's fine, Itadori. You didn't know. By the way, Akashi, what was that thing?" Kenzaki-senpai asked.

Before I could answer, Ogami-san walked over with two new people. Ogami-san with Gekido on his shoulder, a white-haired guy with a blindfold, and a black-haired boy covered in injuries.

"Ace, did you manage to save everyone in the school?" Ogami-san asked.

"There were some injuries, but they've been treated," I said.

"OGAMI-SENSEI!" Masachika and Alisa shouted.

"No need to yell."

"But shouting is what you do in moments like this," Masachika said.

"Whatever. Ace, give him the cursed object."

I gave him the box containing Sukuna's finger to Gojo.

"Well well, you can seal this? Impressive. Unlike my student here," Gojo said, patting Megumi's head.

"Hah?!" Megumi slapped his hand away.

"Anyway, since we're done here, we'll head out. Bye."

They left.

"Alright, since they're gone, let's sit. You all probably have questions," Ogami-san said.

We sat under the temporary tent. While Ogami-san was reporting, I answered Kenzaki-senpai.

"About your earlier question: that creature was a curse."

"A curse?"

"Yeah. Curses form from accumulated negative emotions anger, hatred, sorrow, all that."

"And you said Sasaki-san and Iguchi-san caused this?" Yuki asked.

"Indirectly. They unsealed the high-grade cursed object that caused it."

"What is that?" Kenzaki-senpai asked.

"It's a finger from someone," I replied.

"A finger from someone? That's creepy," Kujo-san said.

"Yeah... I gave it to them because they liked weird stuff and I thought it'd help the club… How did you know Sasaki-senpai broke the seal, Akashi-senpai?" Itadori asked.

"Because I tried to take it back, but she ignored me, so I let her keep it."

"What did you just say, Ace?" Ogami-san sounded annoyed.

"I let them unseal it."

Ogami grabbed my collar. "You put everyone in danger, Ace!!"

"This'll teach them not to do it again."

"You're acting just like the other Kurayami wielders. Don't follow their path."

"Relax, Ogami-san. I had everything under control."

He let go and sat down.

"Sorry. I might've scared you."

"It's fine, sensei. I know Ace was wrong. He needs discipline," Yuki said.

"Anyway, more questions?"

"Sensei, who are you and Ace, really?" Masachika asked.

"I'm Ogami Ryo, a member of the Sword of Logos. Currently teaching here. Ace is just some brat who joined a month ago."

I didn't react. He wasn't wrong. I looked at Yuki holding back laughter. I'll remember that, Yuki.

"Sword of Logos?" Sarashina-senpai asked.

"Think of it as a secret organization that protects mankind," I said.

"No wonder you're good with a sword, Ace," Masachika said.

"So, what did Ace give to those two earlier? He said it was someone's finger, and who are they?" Kenzaki-senpai asked.

"The thing Ace handed over was a high-level cursed object, more specifically the finger of the King of Curses. And those two are jujutsu sorcerers."

"Jujutsu sorcerers are people who deal with curses," I said.

"What's the difference between Sword of Logos and jujutsu sorcerers?" Yuki asked.

"Jujutsu sorcerers mainly deal with curses. Sword of Logos protects humans from all kinds of threats," I said.

"Like aliens?" Yuki grinned.

'YUUKI!!' I screamed internally.

"Yes," I said out loud.

They all fell silent for a moment.

"If the info is too much, we can erase your memories," Ogami-san said.

"That sounds terrifying, sensei, Isn't forgetting something important scarier?"Masachika said.

"Any more questions?" Ogami asked.

"I have one," Sarashina-senpai said.

"What is it, senpai?" I asked.

"Ogami-sensei's giant sword and your swords, Akashi. They have abilities, right?"

"Oh. Sensei, is it okay?"

"It's fine. The Seiken abilities aren't exactly a secret."

"Well, people knowing them can be counted on one hand… Anyway, first, Ogami-sensei's sword is Dogouken Gekido. Its ability is simple: the stronger the enemy's defense, the sharper and stronger Gekido becomes.

Second, my sword, the Thousand Demon Dagger. It's a shattered blade whose pieces I can control—"

"Not that one. The other one."

"Eh… The other one is Ankokuken Kurayami. It can seal things. That's all."

"Oh, no wonder you used it to seal that thing," Itadori said.

"If you're scared, we can erase your memories," Ogami said again.

"Sensei, why do you like erasing people's memories so much? Are you that type of guy?" I asked.

"Stop saying weird things. It's for their safety."

"Sure, sure."

I handed everyone a charm I made.

"This will ward off curses and bad stuff."

"If you're scared, I can walk you home," Ogami added.

And we all went home afterward.

When I got home, I told Lala everything. She was a bit upset because she wasn't there to try the armor she'd just finished modifying, but I calmed her down and told her there would be plenty of other chances.

I called Yuki afterward to make sure she and the others were alright. Once that was done, I trained for a bit, took a shower, and went to bed.

3rd POV

Inside a spacecraft drifting near the moon, a blonde woman in a black outfit stood in front of a console.

"Target confirmed on this planet. Beginning the mission."

She powered up the ship and guided it toward Earth's atmosphere.
