The front room was set up like a living room with a fireplace, shelves, my new long starlight blue plush sofa, loveseat, and two big cozy chairs. The air still smelled faintly of fresh paint and herbal cleaner, but it was already starting to feel like mine. My purchases for this room were all placed against the wall out of the way. As I had requested, the walls are all iridescent silver, and the previous neon pink and teal decorations have been put into a secret auction for the staff.
The decorations weren't bad—just not my style. I give thanks to any gods listening that I did not have to spend my first night here with pink and teal everything. Glancing around, I make notes on potential color schemes and decoration arrangements for this main space. I've already bought curtains for the large windows. I let my imagination loose on where I'll place the various knickknacks—both new and old—on the shelves, fireplace, and tables. I don't bother to contain my excitement as I sketch out my vision before moving on to the left hallway off the main room.
This hallway could be closed off by a stained-glass door. I loved its geometric patterns. Turning on the light switch, I count three doors. The first door on the right opens to a large hunter green room that is half personal library and half armory. I noticed my earlier book shopping in the middle of the room. After confirming everything was where it should be, I left to explore the remaining rooms. A little further down the hall on the left is a half bath for guests to use. I liked the look of it for the most part, so I didn't change anything in there. I did, however, make a note to change out the towels with the ones I just bought today and to have the framed painting of Minette and me thrown out.
The last door in the hallway opened to show a large storage room. It was almost its own pocket dimension. Anything—clothes, linens, decorations and other supplies—currently not in use has been placed in here. I will have to go through this storage when I have time. Give away, throw away, or return anything I don't want or won't use. Leaving this side of the suite, I go investigate the right side.
Just like the left side of the suite, this side can be closed off with a stained-glass door. In this hallway, I count two single doors and a set of double. This will be my inner sanctum. No one but the most trusted will be allowed here. The first room on the left has been renovated to be my private study. It looks like a mix between an office and ritual room.
Like the other rooms, I had the room repainted from pink to a starlight blue fading into hazy lavender starting on one wall and transitions across the room. The celestial theme I was going for was coming together well. The twinkling star lights hanging down from the ceiling was a nice touch I was happy I listened to Nimra about.
Leaving sticky notes for planned placement of items I had bought earlier kept me occupied for a while until my curiosity was piqued when I notice the fogged sliding glass door on the right side of the room.
Upon opening it, I found myself in a glass conservatory. The floor is stone. There are wind chimes and flora in all directions. Following the path, I come across labeled plants, trees and stones. "This is a beautiful conservatory with various Essencecraft ingredients and materials in large quantities. Did they include this renovations to support whatever path I chose to follow once I get the hang of Essencecrafting?" I mutter to myself, examining a large green geode sticking out of the ground.
I soon find my way to the center of the enclosure. There are pillows and meditation-oriented items ready for my use. It is at this point that I realize my enclave has gifted me with a meditation garden. This space was not in any of the pictures I had been shown earlier, so I don't know if it was here before or not, but I do love it. I will have to think hard about how to thank them for this space. I explore the rest of the space, and all my anxiety just seems to wash away under the influence of the room.
Upon reaching the other side of the space, I found another door. Opening it—expecting a storage closet—I'm instead shocked to find a music and dance studio. "Another room, they didn't tell me was here. I don't even know why this room would be here." Drawn into the iridescent orchid room, I feel a strong sense of belonging I've never felt before. The floor seems to be urging me to dance, and the faint vibrational humming requests a song. The mirrors reflect my image back as I look around this second unexpected place. I soon find a music player, and the sounds are so clear I feel like I am part of the music. In a cabinet, I find music sheets, books, and some equipment. I close the cabinet and look up—straight into a breathtaking painted ceiling of a starry night sky. Like a portal to another world, the stars twinkle as if calling me to give them an offering.
Turning off the music, I headed toward the only other door. So, these three rooms are connected. I'm really liking this set up more than I expected. Closing the door behind me, I turned to the set of doors at the end of the hallway. "This must be my bedroom." When I touched the knob to open the door, I felt it heat up almost to point of burning me before it quickly cooled down. Looking at my hand, there was no burn mark and it didn't hurt, so I tried turning the door knob again.
This time there was no reaction, so I entered a room that was as big as my study, meditation garden, and music room combined. With walls of the color of gold dusted amethyst and the inlayed faint gleam of glyphs appearing out of the corner of my eyes, there was a sense of luxurious elegance.
There were floor-to-ceiling windows and an alcove I will definitely be using as a sitting area. The glass doors on the left wall appeared to lead to a vibrant garden outside. I could see another wing of the mansion on the other side of the garden. If this garden connects the other wings together, I wonder when is the soonest I could ask everyone to have a meal out there at least twice a month.
Turning away from the outside scenery, my exploration found the button for a drop-down tv screen and on another wall I discovered a hidden panel that hid a shoulder high mini fridge and snack pantry.
Opening doors, I found the walk-in closet that included enough clothes and accessories to keep my wardrobe fresh all year round. Looking at what was hanging up and in those drawers though made me realize a purge would be needed. And now I have more items to give Mrs. June to auction off to the staff. I make a mental note to go through the closet later.
I moved on to find this amazing bedroom comes with a full spa-level bathroom. The tub was basically a pool, and the shower looked like it would be heavenly to use. The lighting was adjustable and was well balanced around the room. I loved that I could go into my closet or bedroom from the bathroom. The convenience was a wish come true. The bathroom items I bought were all stacked by the counter and against the wall. Since this was the end of the tour, I decided to unpack my new stuff.
I was almost done putting things away in the linen closet when I could hear someone calling for me from the living room. "I'll be right there!" I yelled back. Taking the empty shopping bags with me, I left my bathroom to find everyone standing near the entrance to my bedroom.
"Wow, so this is what your room looks like when it doesn't look like a rainbow monster and a pastel demon had a child they hated with a passion." Keir commented as he took everything in.
"We also noticed that your mystery room is now unlocked. I wasn't expecting it to be a music and dance studio." Aspen added, giving me a once-over like he hadn't just examined me yesterday.
"This is Emberling's chance to make this suite really her own without outside influence. We should support her in doing so without the nosy comments." Korran advised, with pointed looks at my brothers. They simultaneously mimed zipping their lips, which made me laugh. With a snap of her fingers, the shopping bags in my hands disappeared. "I sent those on to housekeeping. They will decide if they can use them or if they will be sent for recycling. So tell us, little one, how can we help set up your space?" Nimra looked around curiously.
"I've made notes and done some sketches. What I need from everyone is help bringing those to life. I'll send you my notes so you can know what I want. Nimra and I will set up my bedroom and closet. I already finished the bathroom, so that's handled." I start sharing the relevant notes with the assigned people. "Lux and Azrail, I would like you two to set up my study." They glanced at the notes, then at me, and left the room already mid-discussion.
I turn my focus to the remaining 3 unassigned. "Korran and Aspen, I'm assigning you to my library/armory. Once done there, if you two will help Keir, who will be working in the living room, that would be helpful." With winks, they left to handle their assignments.
Turning to Nimra with a smile, in sync we turn to the bags and boxes in the middle of my bedroom. "Let's make this space your own, little one. We got lots to do before dinner, but with Essencecraft, we should be done soon."
