Viona's POV
After a week in the hospital, Roey was finally allowed to go home. He recovered well, and all his test results came back good.
We had been worried because Raya still hadn't regained consciousness in the ICU.
But just as I was preparing for Roey's discharge, the news we had been waiting for finally came. Raya had woken up.
The road felt calm, almost too calm, with no traffic. I rolled up the car window when the air turned colder. Outside, everything was quiet. Inside, it wasn't.
"Roey, why are you pouting, dear? Are you not happy we're going home?" I stroked his hair as he sat on my lap, clinging to me, his head resting against my shoulder.
Even though the pain in his hip had mostly faded, his clingy, sulky side hadn't. He still wouldn't let me go too far or too long.
"Why can't I meet Raya, Mommy? You said she already woke up."
I sighed and kissed his forehead. "She's not allowed visitors yet. Her body is still weak, and she can't talk much, sweetheart."
