When lunchtime arrived, many people from my class came over to talk to me. Most of them started asking questions about Overlord—mostly the boys, of course. The girls in my class wanted to know more about the series I'm filming.

Most of them are fans of the actor Ren Kisaragi, the protagonist of the series. They started asking me what he's like and what it's like working with him. Honestly, he's a nice guy, but I haven't talked to him that much.

We haven't filmed many scenes together so far.

Before I even realized it, lunch break was almost over, so I asked my classmates to leave me alone for a bit and left the classroom. I went to the school cafeteria to buy something.

But of course, I got stopped by a lot of people.

The school hallways had turned into complete chaos. So many people wanted to approach me to talk, get autographs, or take pictures. 'If this keeps happening every day, it'll be hard to keep coming to school.'

I took a few photos with people, then bought two bread rolls before running off to hide somewhere.

Eventually, I managed to shake everyone off and headed to the same place as always—my bench. As I got closer, I noticed someone sitting there. It was Miu. The moment she saw me, she smiled.

I sat down beside her and said, "I don't know if I'll be able to keep coming to school."

"They're unbearable, aren't they? Our classmates."

"I can understand them. They're fans of the things I wrote, and suddenly they find out that I'm the author."

"Hmm…"

"You're my fan too, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not," Miu said while looking away.

"Are you sure? You seem to like Overlord a lot."

"That's just your imagination."

"I see." I laughed. "I wanted to tell you, but I couldn't. I was afraid something like this would happen. Well, in the end, it didn't matter anyway."

"You don't need to worry. I understand why you hid it. Just look at what's happening… If I were you, I would've already run away. I couldn't handle this."

"Well, I have to handle it."

"…When I saw the news that you were going to act in a series, I was surprised. But when I found out you were the author Aoi Haruki… I was speechless. I still can't believe I actually gave you that horrible thing for you to read." Miu covered her face with her hands, clearly embarrassed.

"I wasn't lying back then. What I said was true. You write really well. You should keep writing."

"I still write… I'm writing a fantasy story right now."

"Can I read it?"

"I'll think about it." Miu adjusted her glasses with her finger and smiled at me. "Aren't you going to eat? Lunch break is almost over."

"Oh, right."

"I should get going then."

"Before you go, could you give me your number?"

"My number?"

"Yeah, your phone number. I want to stay in touch with you outside of school. We can talk about the things we're writing or something like that."

Her eyes widened.

After clearing her throat, she took out her phone and showed me a QR code to scan.

"Here."

She was extremely nervous because she hadn't expected that.

After getting her number, I sent her a message—a puppy emoji hugging a heart.

"See you later," Miu said before quickly walking away.

'Ah, I should've asked her if those girls stopped bothering her.'

I took a bite of my sandwich.

But before I could finish eating, a group of girls approached me.

So annoying…

When classes finally ended, I grabbed my bag, which felt much lighter than usual since I hadn't brought my notebook, and left the classroom. The moment I stepped outside, I put on my mask, sunglasses, and cap.

I had already been warned that the journalists were still waiting for me outside.

They wouldn't leave me alone until they got an interview.

'I'll only give an interview when my agency allows it.' I think they'll probably make me do a press conference about this soon.

As soon as I got close to the gate, the journalists started shouting from outside.

The police were still there, forming a barrier to stop the reporters from getting closer. Thankfully, Japanese people respect boundaries very well. If this were another country, it could've turned into a disaster.

"How am I supposed to get through all those journalists?" I said out loud.

Then Miu approached me from behind.

"I can try to help you."

"How? Are you going to trick them again? They can see me now, you know?" I turned around and walked back inside the building. Miu followed me. "Isn't there another exit?" Should I ask the principal?

Then my teacher appeared.

"You couldn't get out?"

"It's impossible. There are too many reporters outside."

"Hahaha. How about coming with me? I might be able to help."

"You think you can stop them?"

"I'm an authority figure at this school."

"That won't make any difference at all, sensei."

"I'm just joking." She smiled. "But shouldn't your agency be handling this? I don't know much about that world, but shouldn't they send security guards or something?"

"Well, you're right. I'll contact my agent."

"An agent? Oh..."

"Well, I do have one, but I don't use her much. The only thing she really does is organize my schedule and remind me about important things."

"Alright then, I'll be going now. Good luck with all this."

"See you later."

My teacher left the school building, and I sat down on the hallway floor. Miu sat beside me. I took my phone out of my bag and sent Rina a message explaining what was happening.

A reply came quickly.

[I already know what's going on. I'm on my way to your school. I'm not alone, so don't worry]

"Oh, she replied fast," Miu said in surprise.

"She always replies quickly."

"I see…" Miu stood up to leave.

But before she could go, I said, "Why don't you stay with me until they arrive?" I smiled at her. "Or do you have something important to do at home?"

"Urgh…" Miu blushed and adjusted her glasses with her finger. She sat back down beside me. "Fine, but I'm only staying until your she arrives."
