The city of Byzantium began to slowly awake its eyes as the morning sun kissed the top of Pontic Mountain which were along the black sea. Eleanor has gotten--Tying her hair Infront of the mirror she quickly got ready. She wore a simple white tunic (a t shaped garment) the ends of her dress were flowy--As she then glanced at her face. Her eyes were unreadable--She then stepped outside. As soon as she did--Her eyes were locked with the magnificent sun--Blue locking in with a fierce red. She then got out--Picking up a pot--She saw a river further down.
Eleanor's Pov: I was holding the soil-stained pot--As I searched for anything--Though further down--There seemed to be a river--I smiled to myself then walked towards its path--Then out from the bushes--BOO! I shrieked sharply--As I then glanced at the pot in my hand which I could have almost dropped. Then stared up at a small but curious figure Infront of me--It was a child.
I then quickly set my pot down and went near him--Child...what are you doing here? I asked in ruthenian--forgetting the fact that he didn't understand a single thing That I uttered--he stared at me--clueless yet curious.
He then reached out for my fingers--Softly grazing my jawline in mock innocence--I smiled at the wholesomeness of the interaction.
Author's pov:
What is your name? he asked. Head tilting as he reached for her blonde ringlets--Her ocean-blue eyes then darted up to the sky. She then glanced back at him-Seeming to understand what he asked her--Elenor, she whispered poking his nose.
He giggled--Then introduced himself as Leo.
Elen-nor? he stuttered while saying it again--Her lips then curled--Soon they began walking--Guided by the small chirpings of birds. They then reached closer--Then stopped when they heard the laughter of some women.
(Speaking in Greek*) That girl from the market?
Another woman: Yeah, well the master had to free her---Other women added--"And I thought he wasn't like the other men"
they laughed at the remark.
Helena: "Well, maybe he is--Maybe he is starting to taste the sweetness of feminine love"
Perhaps... The women murmured.
Eleanor's cheeks burned--She didn't have to understand the language to know what they were talking about--Master Flaytus--That name was all the clue she needed. I shook my head trying to ignore their measly talk--Then quietly I went near them.
Leo then quickly followed her track--As the women's gaze pressed on the both of them.
The women all glanced up at here* then went mute instantly.
Eleanor then crouched down near the river--Her dressed grazed the soil as she filled in the pot with water.
The women then murmured to themselves in a low manner--Isn't she...
Cecila: shush...* Don't say anything--Master Flaytus would haunt us in the afterlife--Just remember how he held her at the market. How possessive...other women murmured dreamily--I wish...she glanced up at the sky--God may give me such a valiant and possessive man like him" she murmured--Then the women let out a laugh.
Eleanor sighed--Then got up--Hands clutching the pot--As she turned to leave without another word--Ruthenian! a women called out. Eleanor paused--Then turned to her--heart hammering as she locked eyes with the women--At their prying eyes roaming on her---As she sensed immense judgement, making her legs weak.
Helena--Got up--She walked towards a fragile Eleanor--Her steps slow, deliberate, eyebrows raised.
--How did you do this? she asked, her voice dripping with mockery. Eleanor looked at her--eyes on to the ground--Then, she asked again--leaning in closer to her face--You know, you and master Flaytus.
Eleanor looked away--She didn't utter a word. Helen sensing her silence--She looked at her one more time then backed off.
Eleanor fled the place--Her hands clutching Leo--As her hair fluttered against the fierce wind as They ran back home--They quickly went in--Her rose and fell quickly ash then flopped to the bed.
They had interrogated her as if she was a tavern woman--As if she had no dignity.
Her unshed tears then spilled form her face--drenching the pillow--Flaytus was a man of dignity and she the same--She had no desires with him--"None" she breathed. Even if she did--Damn her--He would never think alike.
Her gaze then went to her ring once again--Then past memories flooded her mind--How Slav has held her; how desperate he had screamed for her name; she would never betray him.
Never
Leo stared at her--His eyes innocent, his hands then grazed her back, are you crying? he asked--Voice draped with concern. Eleanor didn't respond for a long time--She just sobbed softly--Her gaze raised up to his--He then hugged her.
Elenor hugged him back--Her breath shaky, fanning against his back--Don't cry...he murmured.
Eleanor then parted from him, just a bit. Looking at his innocent pout--She nodded, smiling.
They then hugged again--As Elenor found some sort of comfort from this young child--Who she relieved God had send to her.
Eleanor soon bid him goodbye and off he went.
