Chapter 69 - The Meeting of Orders (Part 1)

Sorry this took me a while to write... I hope you enjoy!

---

Coruscant hummed around our entourage as we briskly skimmed through the sky. The LAAT/i whistled in the atmosphere as we passed over several hundred bridges, buildings and spires. We turned every now and then as we approached large apartment complexes that perforated into the world's troposphere. In each arc and turn the distant sun sparkled through the side-slits of the transport and made the ornate glasswork across these marvels of engineering sparkle. It was beyond pleasing to see such massive works of art.

"It's impressive isn't it?" Obi Wan stated from beside me. The rest of the Jedi had taken to speaking to my companions and were wrapped up in their independent discussions. Ashoka and Obi Wan were the only ones paying attention to me currently; the Padawan standing just behind her 'great' master.

"Indeed. I don't know much of the history of Coruscant but the buildings are certainly a marvel... My home world has no such structures that puncture the troposphere so casually." The Jedi Master ran a hand through his beard and nodded softly.

"Well, I do not know the complete history of Coruscant, not many do, but I do know that it is over 100,000 years old and has been the seat of the Republic throughout those long ages. As you probably know this world was where the Old Republic cemented the Jedi Order." I nodded at his words, my mind going back to the small amount of research I had accomplished with Apollo back on Earth...

"I believe the order was based off of Ossus, or Tython as later evolutions of language changed it to." Obi Wan blinked a few times before smirking.

"Indeed, you are more learned than you look Nexus." I shot him a cheeky smirk before turning to look out of the LAAT/i again.

(Author note- I have changed the title of Drecarios to Nexus because my brain finds it easier. I have altered the deal, pray I don't alter it any further.)

As silence filled our conversation the murmurs of the other's chattering filled the lull.

"Our master was a fairly powerful Darth that was trained on Korriban during the height of the Sith Empire. She was trained by another Darth, Ekkage, and achieved her status by bringing over two dozen planets under the rule of the Sith with less than 100 casualties." Yoda nodded at Sirius's explanation as the old dog's grey eyes bored into the titanium wall of the transport. He was diving into the memoires that the Holocrons had implanted inside the three of us.

"Her surface role inside the Empire was to be an ambassador that brought new worlds into the fold. Below that simple task though she was a Hand of the Emperor, purposefully hidden so that she may bring back the sith in the situation that Valkorian failed his task." At the last name every Jedi went silent and payed attention to Sirius's explanation.

"Valkorian was the pinnacle of the tarnished Sith code. He revelled in power, control, mastery, freedom and emotion... But unlike us, he could not control all of these things... His hubris brought his downfall, his abilities gave him foresight but made him blind to his failings as a person... Apocrypha knew this, used his weaknesses and secretly studied under the very first Sith. Ajunta Pall. Or more specifically, his Holocron and force spirit." He finished succinctly before blinking quiet a few times and smiling happily.

"Quite impressive, isn't she?" Yoda chuckled out by the side of Shaak Ti as Sirius waggled his brows towards the female Jedi.

Extending my hand to catch myself as we took a sharp turn in the transport, I noticed Harry having a chat with Ventress and Mace Windu. Their words were quiet but not indecipherable, the latter two's words plain to read from their lips as snarls and rolled eyes were exchanged.

"Foolish Jedi! You abandoned me and my master and you expect for me to simply forgive you for not caring, for being incapable of impartiality and decency!?" Ventress' voice rose a little but was stifled as Harry put a hand on her shoulder and stared at her evenly, his eyes flashing a silver-red that looked like mercury clinging to the edges of heated glass.

"Calm down acolyte." His words froze her. She closed her mouth and bit her bottom lip, turning away as she did so.

Windu looked pained at the fact that the Jedi had lost a Padawan like Ventress to the dark side merely because they were clouded in judgment. Harry noticed this and quickly coughed into the silence and turned his eyes back to their welcoming emerald hue.

"Master Windu, I am curious... Why do I feel the dark side constantly calling out for you?" Ventress jittered as he finished his question whilst the Jedi Master regarded my teen companion.

"It is a long story... Let us just say that a moment in my past had me close to becoming Sith... The memory is not pleasant and I'd prefer to keep that story to myself." Windu's voice, from what I could tell, was slightly strained; his eyes leading credence to the assumption as he stared into the middle distance and grimaced, as if remembering something mildly unpleasant.

"Ah, sorry... I understand that... I wish I had had that option in the past." At Harry's whimsical tone the Jedi Master leaned back in consideration and nodded in sympathy.

It looked as if everything was going smoothly, if not completely without drama or emotion.

"Hmmm, I find myself curious Nexus, what is your purpose in this meeting? There hasn't been this form of meeting for thousands of years. At most there was the interrogation of Revan when he turned from the Sith and back to the Jedi; and then back again of course..." He grinned at his little joke before turning to me and cocking his head back, waiting in curiosity for my answer.

"Hmmm, how to explain..." I took a pause and parsed through my ideas, "If you were given thousands of years of melodrama and history all at once and told that 'these' people were slavers and wished to simply cage the side we were joining... What would you do?" I waited a moment for him to begin responding before I cut in.

"I know what I would do. I would learn about these people that supposedly want to enslave the Sith and see for myself whether they are truly as diabolical. To see if they are contrary to my new beliefs and those of my companions. I only have one side of the equation and thus I can't reach an answer, therefor, we meet and talk." I gave a polite smile to him whilst secretly within my mind I cackled at the bull shit I was trying to spin. The only reason we were here is because the Jedi have a shit ton of information that I can use to potentially get Sirius and Harry back to their original universe; simple as that.

Obi Wan didn't go to speak this time and simply stared out over the rooftops and spires of Coruscant, his mind deeply treading through his internal thoughts and doubts; I could feel them coagulating like mud at the edge of his eyes and almost taste it upon his presence in the force.

I stayed silent as we took another sharp turn, the Jedi Temple now within view.

It was a marvellous structure that almost looked like a futuristic Ziggurat if it weren't for some architectural elements from Pyramids and even some Russian-esque domes for the four towers on each corner of the structure and the central spire that housed the council chambers, rooms and command facilities of the Jedi. This was also the first time I had seen plants and greenery showcased in any meaningful amount, a large arrangement of plants arraying themselves along one floor of the enormous temple.

Sirius and Harry joined me in staring out at the temple, the two wizards grinning in excitement and their irises twinkling in awe and expectation. ""This is going to be wicked!"" Both exclaimed at the same time as we slowly tapered downwards in our flightpath, the hangars opening for us as we drifted downwards.

"You will do as I ask you, or you will find yourself, suddenly hoping to jump out of your apartment... Bane." The robed figure represented upon the holo-projector on his wrist snarled out.

"Your threats do little to frighten me... Either increase the pay or we're done here." He waspily responded to one of his best paying clients.

"Grrrr-" He narrowed his solid-red eyes at the figure, contemplating blasting the gnat to pieces, "Fine! You shall receive your extra 100,000 credits for the job. But you must ensure that all three are captured and delivered to me intact!" Bane smiled at the extra cash and the desperate attitude of the cloaked man.

"Ya' got yourself a deal then... They'll be with you inside the week." The Holo-projection hissed closed as the client hung up on him. Smiling at the payday he had just received, Bane turned towards the mouth of the alleyway, the cacophony of life and the underworld in Coruscant hissing like an actual serpent just beyond the dark opening.

Tapping a button on his wrist a few times another image hovered from his wrist, this time his personal droid. "Get the usual crew together. We got a target." The droid started tumbling around in excitement before he cut the feed and stepped out of the alleyway, his dark brown cloak scraping against the trash draped over the floor.

Looking around for a moment he pulled his brimmed hat down and merged into the crowd, his existence mixing alongside the ordinary and not so ordinary citizens of Coruscant.

~~~
Darth Tyrannus, or Count Dooku, was having a horrible day so far...
His master had just metaphorically slapped him for his failures in guiding his forces properly. Not only had he been shamed by his master's words, he had then been given a menial task that was barely worth his time or effort... And the most humiliating aspect of this task? He had to do it in person, by himself.
In an instant he lashed out in anger, his right hand sparking with force lightning as a droid near to him was physically launched at a wall, held there and then melted into molten slag. He wished he could defer this matter to his own minions or his foolish little acolyte that played as if she were a Sith Assassin...
"CURSE OBI WAN KENOBI!!!" He yelled in frustration, his breath coming in huffs for a time before he started collecting himself once more and straightened his robes.
It was a setback, that was all, he could make the best of this situation. At the very least he knew this task would go well seeing as how he was doing it personally.
~~~

Palpatine... Was baying for blood.

Three Sith had stepped into his domain without him knowing about it. Not only did he fail to detect their arrival, he had to learn of it from his contacts inside the dockyards! Every single spy inside the Jedi Temple, the Military and the Senate had failed spectacularly in their task.

Now he was forced to hire a bounty hunter to bring these intruders to heel. He was forced to bring his official apprentice into his plans slightly more than he had wished him to be... And all his dockyard informants had given him was: 'They look like Jedi but, weird...?' It took every ounce of his control to not snap the informant's mind in half, and he was still tempted, even now.

"Supreme Chancellor," A random senator of little consequence introduced himself to the room whilst moving aside, bringing in more of the whining wind-bags of the senate... "May I take a moment of your time to introduce the Senator for Malastare?" He barely resisted an eye twitch and a scowl.

Taking a second to turn around in his seat, Palpatine adjusted his expression and smiled cordially. "Of course gentlemen and women, I'd be remiss in not greeting a notable senator such as yourself!" He rose out of his chair and held on tightly to his grandfatherly persona.

~~~
Somewhere on Harry and Sirius's home world an old man with a white beard and a sparkly hat sneezed in the middle of an order meeting.
"Are you okay Albus?" Molly asked.
"Fine, I'm fine... Just a touch cold as of late." He made his eyes twinkle before nodding towards the gathering members of the order. It had been a few hours since Harry and Sirius had disappeared and things were going to be such a mess.
